Sweet looking car. I've seen the Soarer. Here in the USA, it was sold as the Lexus SC400. If I'm not mistaken, the six cylinder engine was available for the Lexus SC300, but for some reason, it didn't sell well, at least not next to SC400.
not very.. lots of issues with them, the air suspension has issues in the v8 model, v8 1UZFE itself is reliable but it's ECU IS NOT and it costs ALOT for a new one, you can basically buy an entire soarer in australia for the cost of a new ECU (mainly because they are so cheap, the cars, not the ECU), the 1JZ models be prepared to rebuild the turbos or just straight up swap to a single turbo. Also have lots of niggly electrical problems like with the dash and other areas. Join a facebook group or forum and read for a few months before you buy one. That said, the risk is fairly low since they are so cheap, at least they are in Australia, we had lots of them imported here for some reason.
Why do you say vehicle has been smoked in if the cigarette lighter has been used? I have used it many times as a backup because I forgot/lost/broke my lighter. But still I never would smoke in the car.
Interesting that a coupe would have a rear-windshield wiper. Seems a little unnecessary. I've only seen a rear-windshield wiper on a similarly-designed car once; on a 2005-2013 Porsche Cayman which belonged to a friend, and even he said this feature was only available for a year or two before Porsche stopped offering it.
I believe rear-windshield wiper was mandatory in Japan at that time, not sure about now, but I mean pretty much every JDM coupe that I've seen (and even some sedans), had a rear-windshield wiper, or at least a spot where it used to be.
Azri Fadli in the us there was a sc300 which had a 3.0l 2jz ge i6 and the sc400 had a 4.0 1uz_fe v8 The soarer had the 2.5l 1jz_gte i6 It also had a 3.0l 2jz_ge i6 and Also had a 4.0l 1uz_fe v8
Hi Derrick 👋 Love all your videos and unique cars! Your extra input on the vehicles is excellent too!

Welcome back! Hope you a nice few days off.
i love soarers i own a sc myself here in us, thats a great example
Just found your channel. Love all the cars you import! :)

I've always found that kind of weird too. I know that in later versions of the Soarer/SC, they put a collapsible cup holder in that spot.
Yep. My 1U LTD has a pull-out cupholder in that spot.
cup holder just broke off probably
I think the US would have loved the digital gauge cluster, I know it looks really interesting in the 93 Crown Majesta
Man I want an SC400 so bad. I’m having to daily a ‘96 Impreza with no cruise and tons of wind noise on the highway and it sorta sucks.
10 points to Gryffindor!
How reliable are these Soarers across the straight-6 and V8 engine configurations?

Ughhhh I need a SOARER!
I have a 94 SC400 with 95k. It's my daily, and i love it.
Yes, I remember the Lexus SC series. Rather than the SC300, I would have favored the SC400, with the 4 liter V8, hence the model name.
I love this car jeez
The 1UZ is the better engine though. Was designed to last 400,000 miles without needing a rebuild.
The 2JZGE in the SC300 is a Supra engine without the turbos.....They're both good engines, but it's cheaper to get more power out of the 1JZ/2JZ.
Is it true you could buy a soarer for close to $100,000us brand new in Japan.
Very Nice car!!! :)
The whole in the center console is for a cup holder but it’s broken in this car
its not broken, its just not fitted. some didnt come with a cup holder there as it was an optional extra.
this is a very nice car

Mortalomena He said there's remnant of ash in the tray
if I didn't know that this car is from 1992 I would think that it was designed in the early 2000s
Pol Tc That's what a few people told me when they asked about my SC400. Definitely ahead of it's time, and still looks great today.

Porsche pioneered the rear glass wiper way back in the early 911 days.

My Subaru coupe has water pool up on the back window. Makes me wish I had a rear windshield wiper
it's for a book... like a paper back novel
Nice :)
The car is 26 years old not 25 (1992+26)
In USA they called Lexus SC400
Azri Fadli in the us there was a sc300 which had a 3.0l 2jz ge i6 and the sc400 had a 4.0 1uz_fe v8
The soarer had the 2.5l 1jz_gte i6
It also had a 3.0l 2jz_ge i6 and
Also had a 4.0l 1uz_fe v8
im buying one period with 1jz
I think Derek doesn't like me anymore. He hasn't replied to any of my comments since I sorta called him a weeaboo.
