Oi! greetings from Oslo. I have been to Østmarka only once- as I prefer Nordmarka. Number one because I live only 7 min (with metro) from Sognsvann-last metro stop before entering the seemingly endless woodlands NORTH of Oslo. Not sure if u have done it, but I truly recommend the hike from Skar up to "Tømtehyttene", two cabins that belong to "DNT"/The Norwegian Trekking Federation". They are on top of a hill, 470 meters above sea level. Gorgeous view-especially at sun set. Also, some beautiful old growth forest up there.
