It's clear that Ver doesn't want people to think he's trying to score + points by showing respect to Yugo, but still wants to pay respects to Yugo and he did it perfectly. Also i'm pretty sure that him not speaking Yugo's name and also not really answering Aia's question is him not wanting to bring anything up. It also shows that both times he immediantly looks away from the build and starts leaving before turning back, paying respects and moving on. He just wants people to feel comfortable and have a good time, so he's trying not to 'hurt' anyone, be it Aia or his viewers (or Aia's Viewers) by going in-depth and making it a Topic.
