I had heard about Vinland Saga before, but never the specific detail that it was in the context or North American settlers. I like how much appreciation Yukimura-sensei has for North American history, since it is also present in the later parts of his manga Planetes.
True! His writing in Planetes showed a better understanding of the American social climate than probably any manga I've ever seen. Also, The Vinland Sagas refer to real-world historical writings by the Vikings who traveled to North America. That's why I say it's kind of a spoiler and kind of not to show this current arc. Some people who have heard the title before would think it's totally obvious that North America would factor into the story. Another fun fact is that the different writers of The Vinland Sagas have some conflicting information about Thorfinn Karlsefni, and I'm theorizing that this is why Yukimura wrote in two characters that both happen to be named Thorfinn

@@Trooth holy crap xD the two Thorfinns is both a hilarious way to solve that problem, and yet another demonstration of his deep knowledge!
