- Eugène Ysaÿe: Sonata for solo violin No. 6 E Major Op. 27/6, dedicated to Manuel Quiroga
Augustin Hadelich, violin
Filmed 2019 in New York City by Tristan Cook and team
His playing is so musical that you almost forget how impossibly hard this piece is
You are so right. Definitely the sign of a GREAT musician.
I'm not a violin player but I've looked at the sheet music for this piece and I can say it looked hard.
I can play it, but I can't find the musicality. His playing is musical indeed.
For real like it’s so nice
@@VictorHugo-xn9jz is it hard to learn it? Do I need to be advance player in order to try to learn it?
This shall be the ultimate two set 4 mil waiting room. Dear Brett, good luck! 🎆
Best comment and music
he will play it as encore?
YES PLS!
looking forward to it!
An encore to his Mendelssohn perhaps?
I'd say this is some next level playing, but that would be like three levels short of where this really is
It's just so fluid and effortless, relaxed and artistic, on a piece that is anything BUT any of these things
This performance was a revelation. In making the music the top priority over everything else, Hadelich unveils the poetry and rhythmic structure in ways I’ve never heard before. Too many virtuosos use this piece as a vehicle to show off. But Hadelich is more than a mere virtuoso. He’s an artist of the highest caliber. Thank you for sharing this with us!!
I don't think using a lot of 'virtuoso' is always especially for showing off. I think why you shouldn't use to much of that is because it will loose it's clarity and meaning because of using to much technique.
❤❤
So well said, I completely agree.
Absolutely true!!!!!!!
In my VERY amateur opinion, I agree with you. Mr. Hadelich is not “showing off”, but rather melding with the music. The music is the being that is showing off, as it should be.
Such an inspiration having overcome a horrible accident and fighting to keep doing what he loves. Every note is pristine it's amazing.
@Tarık He was badly burned in a house fire when he was 15. That's why he looks unusual.
What accident
@Mrigank Mookim what comment?
@@69elchupacabra69 Sorry, but I don't think is the right situation to throw a joke in.
@@edifyguy its not nice to say he looks "unusual". Imagine you lose an arm or a leg and someone comes to you and say "you look unusual" how would you feel? (I know u didn't mean it in a malice way but it is still hurtful)
augustin will be talked about 100 years from now and will inspire violinists for generations
6:10 😳 I mean how?? It is so perfectly in tune
I drooled while listening
It's just very hard working and working and practice and practice 25 ouers Pro day. It's big talent. Thank God for you Augustin!!!!!

I'm not a classical musician, but this may be the best performance I've ever seen.
How does he make everything so smooth?
This is beyond Ling Ling level...
Ling Ling wants to know your locatin...
woah. Wouldn’t go that far ... he is still limited to 24 hours where as lingling is not ya know
Don't take it too far bro
@@1stukrainianfront ling ling practices 40 hours a day
@@1stukrainianfront You are just jealous of lingling, all of us aspires to practice 40 hours a day
Listening to and watching Augustin play is such a visceral experience. The sheer beauty of his technique, his liquid hands and bowing arm - it's riveting. The sound he draws out from his violin... Then there's the actual music - and his interpretation of it! We are very fortunate.
He is so elegant! I am watching him 7-9 years now and he is still impresses me every time! So unique playing style !..and his dynamics....wow....it seems easy but its not..... Last year i played 4th sonata of ysaye for my bachelor degree and I know by personal how hard is ....but Augustine...you are unbelievable beautiful player!
He really makes musical sense of No. 6. There are so many performances where one difficulty after the next is overcome, and you never know where in piece you are
Mr. Hadelich Always amazing.
My jaw dropped at the end, those octaves... Such an inspiring performance! Thank you for blessing us with this wonderful music!
The bliss of solitude after the marvellous interpretation, no signs of clap, nor applause, but solemn, silent and swiftly wind, in which an undefinable pleasure aroused in my mind, with an everlasting recall of the piece, swirling in my brain.
Tbh, I was expecting an applause from neighbouring flats! Maybe they were told not to!
how could he play this piece so peacefully as if it is nothing difficult! he makes it seem so easy!!! Bravo bravo
no one follows Augustin's expression. Already he is perfect,,
Maybe he was born for the to play the violin
This powerful clarity in the chords and runs is one of the reasons Hadelich has become a master interpreter for pieces like these
A high level , another vision , a smart rendition . I’m in love
Absolutely brilliant from start to finish
The first 40 seconds is like the best thing i have ever heard
The next Voyager space craft to leave our solar system should have this encoded on it to ensure any that any alien life who find it decide to nurture rather than destroy us
well said
Amazing... like i cant believe that intonation and skill he has in his hands.. it is pure, as it has to be... lovely
There are insufficient words to describe the caliber of my enjoyment and appreciation of this spellbinding performance!! Mindblowing technical feats! Unbelievably perfect intonation! Exciting and dramatic interpretation! It's all there, thanks to Augustin Hadelich, the finest violinist and musician of this century!
Those five notes chords 😍
This is absolutely gorgeous, hope I can play it someday
Six note chords.
Can't wait for the album!
My favorite violonist !
Here from TwoSet who rate this Ysaye's most difficult piece.... a high 'A' level.
You make it look/sound so easy. Violin & violinist stretched to the max. Wowsers.
A beautiful energy permeating New York City.
3:53 Simply sublime, none more can be said
No words really! Amazing...
He is the best violinist in the world!
I am blown away. WOW!!!

You truly inspire me, Augustin.
Absolutely beautiful.
5:32 until the end. The best part!
This piece is the death of me. I know someone walked out of training camp after seeing the sheet. that someone is me 😂

Lieber Augustin Hadelich,
best, Chris :)
Thank you so much Augustin, I really really enjoyed watching you playing this piece. You play so beautifully and with such amazing passion and sensitivity and enjoyment too. I really really love ❤️ you, and your playing. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
Braaaaaaaaaaaavo Augustin!❤️❤️❤️🌹🌹🌹!
Outstanding and beautiful ♫♪
All comments say it all....greatest violinist!!!!
Perfeito!!! Brilhantismo maravilhoso!!!! Bravíssimo!!!
Ah, that control… and all these different colours……just heaven~.
I love your music, YOU sound unique
That high G# of the last major 3rd! 🔥🔥🔥
It’s a harmonic, so you, too, can nail it :)
Todo un maestro, excepcional ejecución
Fantastic! Saw Sibelius violin concerto with New York Philharmonic
I know that everyone’s talking about how good the end of this piece was, but why is no one talking about how insanely clean Hadelich does 2:43-2:54?
sempre favoloso
I love you... this one was amazing!!
How amazing‼
I love his excellent musicality and quality of sound in the challenging passages of this sonata
Just listening to the first sound, I knew him having a superb sound.
It is unusual for me, but I want to listen to his performance from now on.
Beautiful!!!
Bravo Augustin!
Just incredible. I have played this myself when I was 17. But, not like this... Thank you so much. You manage, what seems impossible to many. Thank you for the inspiration and hope I always get from your playing.
Bravissimo!!! 🎆🎇🎵🎼
Such a unique artist 👌
Great violinist
Bravo. Admiro seu trabalho. 👏👏👏
Amazing!!!
I see master violinist!
I hope this video goes viral.
He makes it sound easy he's that good
Bravo!!
Wooooooooooow!!!!! Bravo!
Que performance maravilhosa lindo de mais
To me this performance is musically on the same level as Oscar Shumsky’s recording of this sonata, and that is saying something. And technically it is more pristine. Tremendous!
P E R F E C T 😍😍😍
Muito inspirador. Parabéns!
Hermoso!!!
Sobran las palabras...💜🎶🎵🎶💜🎻
Dayum!!! Bravo!
the twiste army hasnt flooded the comments yet. If you are from their video. I highly Entourage you to listen to ysayes 2 Sonata as well. That is actually superb
Awesome!
impressive! you are amazing!!!
As a career pro violinist let me just say: it's almost impossible to impress on non-violinists how absurd this video is.
Your left look suspended like Kogan but in a completely different way, please make a video where you explain how you deal with playing without a shoulder rest and with that left hand position. It seems more a guitaristic position, it's so elegant but i don't understand how you can play with it. Love your playing, soul and style
I was wondering as well.
@@lourencodenardinbudo686 Augustin I believe has a pad under his jacket. Old greats used this aid as well.
He said in one of his instructional videos that he uses a pad underneath his outer garment. He showed it on camera.
I noticed he holds his left hand like a guitarist, too.
Nicola Fattorini his dad started him playing up high on the violin, first and moved him downward, later. I’m convinced that’s why his playing posture is this way.
Came here after watching Hilary Hahn and Twoset discuss the difficulty of this piece. Props to Hadelich for making it look effortless!
Bravo!
incredible
너무좋아~~🎉
It defies comprehension how easy he makes this look...
This is bananas
Tem a honra de continuar a prelongar a vida henryk Szeryng! Outro g filósofo! É um génio geneunino! Lê duc já estava à espera de ter um grande violinista, para servir hadelich.
👍ATEMBERAUBENDE SCHÖNHEIT, mach's gut und weiter so🎵🎻🌷🎄🌟
Superbe!!
YEE SO AWESOME
