CocoCay Wave Jet Tour | Royal Caribbean Excursion

- We went to CocoCay (Royal Caribbean Private Island) in May 2019 while aboard Mariner of the Seas on a 4 night cruise. They now officially call it "Perfect Day at Coco Cay" and it has its own theme song they play when you get off the boat.
The 8 of us rented 4 Sea-doos for an excursion tour. This is an edited clip of what we did. The full length time was approximately 1 hour. I only edited out the down time waiting around and sped up some of the riding as there wasn't much to see. This will give you a good idea of what to expect if you choose this excursion. We will do this one again with our kids!
This trip was part of a 2 week motorcycle trip from MN to FL and back to MN via the Smokey Mountains (check out the videos from that on our RUclips page) with 4 bikes and 8 people. We spent 5 days riding each way and 4 on the cruise.

MO & LO on the go! Did they check your weight if you ride with a passenger? I noticed there is a 375 pound total restriction for two people

It actually wasn't too short, took longer than it looks. You get a chance to go swimming in the middle of it also!
Hi there, we're a family of 4 looking to do this excursion next month. If we book 2 jet skis (2 per ski), are you allowed to change drivers during the tour?
We think you can, however, there isn’t a great place to do that since you never stop at a dock or land until you get back. At the stopping point where you can swim would be the only place to switch. Let us know if you make it work! Enjoy!
Hoping to do this next week…where do you store your stuff while on the watercraft?
It was a lot of fun! We had a cabana so we left our items there but we all believe there were lockers, or at least a storage area, for items. Hope you enjoy! Let us know what you thought of the excursion!!!
Did you use the head mount for the go pro or can you hold the stick to record
Handheld on a floaty stick! GoPro 4. The newer ones would have been much smoother with hypersmooth
were they strict on providing driver licenses? I have a 16 year old son which meets the age requirement for this excursion, however he only has a permit.
We believe they were strict about it. We think they might have made a copy of it too but can't remember for sure. I would check with them to see if a learner's permit is good enough. Your son would love it if he can drive!!!

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed! You do not need to know how to swim because you are required to wear a life jacket. You don't even have to get in the water if you don't want but do have the option to go in at one point. This was a fun experience and I am sure you'll enjoy it! Let us know if you try it out

This looks so fun! If you book this for yourself without a corresponding passenger, do you know if you will be able to drive your own jet ski or will they automatically assign you a stranger as a passenger?
It was fun, even having to follow a guide. If you book just yourself then you should be able to have one to yourself! I doubt they would assign a stranger because they have to hang on tight!
Do a lot of people fall off? How hard is it to get back on if you do fall?
Thanks for the question! Not one person fell off while we were out. They give a tutorial before you start out on how to get back on if you fall plus they have at least 2 guides to help you if you do. It did not look difficult to remount. They were very stable.

Thank you! In this video we had the GoPro 4 Silver. No stabilization on that one so we later upgraded to the GoPro 8 Black
So did yall get to get off anywhere or was it just riding the jet skis around?
We stopped at one spot where we could go swimming. Other than that we rode the entire time. It was a lot of fun!
how did you guys keep your camera from falling in,just curious so I can tape my 1st experience
LO hung on tight to MO with one hand and held the camera in the other!
On castaway key they take you out to a sand bar. I guess they don't have one on coco cay. Bummer
Nope, not on Coco Cay but sounds like something that would be fun to do at Castaway Key!
Interested in trying this for my cruise. When you did your purchase pre cruise, did you pay for two people? I saw you stated that it was a small fee, but online it shows I have to purchase for two separate people. Also, did they give you the option to operate your own and you chose to do it together?
Yes we had to book one for the driver and a separate one for the passenger. There were 2 separate charges. You only both get to drive your own if you purchase 2 drivers. Hope that answers your questions! Let us know if you do it and if you enjoyed it!
How fast they go
I don't know the exact speed but they went pretty fast! In some parts the waves were too big to go full speed but others were smooth enough to open it up! The passenger will need to hang on tight!
Did you have to pay extra for a passenger ??
You do have to pay extra for the passenger but it is a much smaller fee!

@@JorgeRodriguez-ve6nx It was right around 98 bucks, we set sail Monday the 24th, badly needed vacation.
@Jorge Rodriguez make sure you buy it before you get on the ship. It’s cheaper to buy it online before you board. You might even find a sale on it ahead of time!

That’s annoying you had to wait for others to catch up. I wanted to get this for my sons (20 & 21) but they would not be happy to just sit around waiting
The waiting wasn't too bad. It gave a chance to rest a bit and get ready for the next leg.

Unfortunately you have to follow the guide, but they still try to make it fun by swerving around and going fast
