I can see why this season took 3 years to make! Not only is the writing and voice acting top tier, the animation is mind blowing. You could pause at any frame of this show and it looks like it should be shown at the Louvre. Especially the funeral scene for Caitlyn’s mother.
Worth the wait, I really got teary eyed during particular moments. I didn't think I would so easily but the writing is so damn good and they know how to capture you.
This first episode started in such a heartbreaking way - the aftermath of the rocket exploding, the council members dead, Cait's mom lying lifeless, Jayce desperately running to save Viktor - it was worth the wait. Ambessa already dug her claws deep into one of the council members, the most vulnerable one and we can see clearly where this is headed. Mel turning things around with the "2 to 1" retort was exceptional, what a gifted politician she is. Seeing Cait's dad completely unraveled after his wife's death, how angry he is at seeing Vi - compared to how welcoming he was in season 1 - what a blow Cait's family suffered. 9:17 this is the only little bit of dialogue that feels "wrong" - ofc she knows how that feels, her mom was just killed. 10:37 this is called survivor's guilt - when seeing people die all around you and you somehow escape unscathed, it really messes with your mind. 12:40 this scene feels so good to watch, a new enforcer, not corrupted already, extending a hand to a Zaunite - it makes you hope for the brighter future. 13:35 attacking them at the memorial - what a terrifyingly efficient tactic and a sure way to push the council into sanctioning a full blown war against Zaun. 16:20 her son, who she had working for Silco, in the Shimmer production. Ah nothing tastes as sweet as hypocrisy. 17:30 the noxian troops to the rescue, lead by a war clad Ambessa - what a sight! 19:30 Jayce is definitely in and the look on Mel's face when she saw the hextech weapons - after she promised Jayce to not allow anyone to corrupt his dream - heartbreaking. 20:25 looks like Singed is up to something with those beasts! Thank you for the phenomenal reaction, your beautiful commentary and that heartfelt discussion at the end, you did such a good job ❤
Finally, a continuation of this MASTERPIECE! The soundtrack in the second season will be from LINKIN PARK.. 🔥🤘🏻 Well, here we go again 🔥 The visuals and soundtrack have become even better than in the first season - the staging of the scenes is just goosebumps. The fact that everyone will be in pain was clear at the end of the first season, so many emotions, wow! Based on the first episode, we can conclude that the second season is a cut above the first, although it would seem much higher, but it turns out there is where!! In one breath, I'm delighted. I really liked "I won't let them corrupt your dream" with a hand on Victor's staff, including him in the conversation. The scene during the funeral is visually very cool!!!! And in principle, the first episode is a delight, I'm very glad that Mel survived after all!!! It's a pity that Jinx was not shown in this episode. Of course, there is also a feeling that this whole attack was staged by Ambessa to convince the senate to use Hextech in the war with Zaun. The characters' emotions are beautifully drawn, and my favorite emotional swings. The first episodes of new seasons are often made quite calm to let viewers remember past events and prepare for new ones. Here they did it differently, only rocking the flywheel of what is happening even more, and it turned out very cool. And the soundtrack! 🔥🔥🔥 The opening scene, the opening, the subsequent scenes, the music, the staging of the shots, the color palette - the second season not only did not lower the bar, it went up several levels! Just some kind of delight for the eyes and ears (I'm taking all the songs to my playlist). What a pity that there will be so few episodes and this is the last season. Well, I will savor it ... A promising start to the season, the episode and the end itself just give me goosebumps. Thanks to 💛Laura💛 & ❤Magy❤ for the wonderful reaction to the first episode!🦊 Action packed start, great! Can't wait for more!🔥
To give a bit more context on why this series will end with this second season, besides the writers feeling like it's the right time - both seasons costed 250 million dollars to make. Sure, it is a visual, audio and storywriting masterpiece but it's also the most expensive commercial ever made, for LoL specifically. A lot of people started playing the game because of this series and all the spin offs and other series made in this universe will be just as good if the same people work on them.
What makes it so expensive??? Like, what is it about making an animated show runs up such a hefty bill? I understand why live action productions can get so expensive (sort of), but I know next to nothing about the process of making an animation. Why are they so damned expensive?
The creators said they also just dont want to stretch the story and thry also want to move to something fresh. 9 years with these characters is enough.
@@thecaptain3594 It takes something like a day of several people working to make just a couple of seconds of the animation, sometimes even longer for the complex shots.
-Episode 1 I Can't Hear it Now Lyrics (Vocals by Freya Ridings): There is an ocean so dark down below the waves Where you watch while these dreams gently float away And there is a silence so soft it's only memory Like the way your voice always sounds when you sing to me But I can't hear it now Just tell me how to keep breathing while pretending I’m not drowning I don’t know if I could I watched a door close for good ‘Cause I couldn’t keep it open But I can't hear it now Just tell me how to keep breathing while pretending I'm not drowning I don't know if I could. 💜

The fact that the Council's decisions are decided on a basis of 2-to-1, when at its peak in Season 1 had *_EIGHT_* members shows how much turmoil Jinx's attack wrought and how chaotic everything must feel for Piltover....
I'm not emotionally ready for this...this...season...will...destroy...me. 😢 😭 If Ella Purnell (Jinx's Actress) cried after filming the finale for this season, a good majority of us are sure to as well.
Just woke up. I was up til 4am watching the episodes. I'm at a loss for words really. You can tell there is a lot more attention to detail. The good times are over. This season is going to be serious, and they are going to rip our hearts out.
From what I could tell, the main theme of this first episode is guilt. EVERY SINGLE character is feeling guilty of something : Vi feels guilty for creating Jinx, Cait feels guilty for not killing Jinx, thus having her own mother killed, Jayce feels guilty for being in perfect shape while Viktor lies in tatters (and also, killing the Chembaronness's son came back to bite him in the ass), and even Mel feels guilty for not having heeded her mother's prior advice about what was coming, leading to the destruction of the council. Something incredible with the writing of this series as a whole is just how the writers (and of course, the directors, animators, and voice actors) make us care about EVERY SINGLE character ! It's like Game of Thrones on steroids ! Also, something incredibly impressive is that the whole story is not an elusive plot that is written and that every characters must follow to the letter, but actually unfolds through the characters and their actions (and consequences), and how it bounces back and forth to every other characters lives, creating ever growing ripples effects all over the lake that is the world of Arcane. That is the mark of truly great storytellers. As a fellow animation film director myself (although not even close at the level of these people), I dream of one day being able to craft such a story.

Why do people like you feel the need to spoil things for people? It's so childish. It's like y’all feed from ruining people's experiences. From this show, Victor isn't bad, maybe he will get controlled by the Hex core, but he isn't a bad person.

10:37 this is called survivor's guilt - when seeing people die all around you and you somehow escape unscathed, it really messes with your mind.

Not to be a downer, but Victor is a bad guy in the League of Legends pantheon...
Why do people like you feel the need to spoil things for people? It's so childish. It's like y’all feed from ruining people's experiences. From this show, Victor isn't bad, maybe he will get controlled by the Hex core, but he isn't a bad person.
