This child is so good, its unfair to other singers.
This is just 12 yo Angelina ( not 13) doing an experiment with her new mic (Neuman TLM-102) she got for her 12th Birthday. Just sitting on the couch playing around with an Etta James song. This is child's play for her & most of these home videos, she is just trying out a song & usually it's in 1 take, rarely 2. I'm 73 & have been listening to music since the 60's. I've never seen/heard anything like her & I'm including all the great jazz artists who have passed & will never have the pleasure of hearing this jazz phenom. Her "voices" are addicting & the only bad thing I can say about Angelina is that she has ruined my appreciation of other artists I used to love & now when I go back to listen, they don't sound as good as they used to. (at age 11), Oslo and Shield (both at age 12), Million Miles (at age 14) and 7th Heaven (at age 15). She also has over 135 cover videos on RUclips in most every musical genre you can imagine (except opera and rap). Last August, she signed with Republic Records as their "highest priority new artist". You will see a boatload of comments here that will give you great information about her prodigious musical talent and humanitarian efforts. Be sure to look for comments by Rusty Shackleford. He is one of the foremost authorities about everything Angelina. Actually she the words & had some co-writers to help her get words out in English correctly to express what she wanted the song to convey & to have a slight James Bond feel to it.. She had an interview about the song. She started to write the words at 11. Plus Mery (her grandma) did the 1st music video of it & it was artsy. But she sang it in public for TV2 when she was 12. "Oslo" she wrote at 10 on the plane on her way back from LA to go home for when she got to Oslo shortly before turning 11 she did the famous (demo) of "I'm still holding on for you" "Million miles" she wrote after her grandpa died in Nov 2019, she was 13. Her friend Ari (prince of Norway & a tribute to him "Trampoline") died in Dec of 2019 from suicide.
7th Heaven she wrote at 14. To lift her self up from all the negativity & from what was going on in the world last year. Angie has always puts everything in her diary, songs, poems & thoughts etc etc since she was very very young, before age 6.

Mr.Lboyd these comments have just scratched the surface. there are at least 3 independent Bio's of her, talking about why she goes barefoot on stage, talking about how she met and sang for Quincy Jones, the star search contests she won at age 7 and been in others. Many other TV appearances, Music videos etc. She may have done More stuff than Grace Vanderwaal and is a far better singer, but hasn't got quite the break like Grace.

Angelina Jordan is the most spectacular music artist of the whole world nowadays, due to several factors. First of all, her voice which is unmatched, unbeatable ,melodic, mesmerizing, magnificent , majestic and full of soul, and jazzy and in second place , she is such a Humble person as it is up to now, getting to everybody's heart ; ever since she was a child (an infant) has shown that the beauty of a person can be in her own attitude, taking as example her kindness toward another child by her age,where poverty was not an insuperable wall to trespass to support and help another human been, that kind of dignity only can be find in a pure soul .And third, she at her young age became a book writer plus a songwriter ain't that overwhelming? astonishing?

Angelina discovered Holiday and jazz at a very young age, and in fact for her debut on the world stage, which was her audition for Norway's Got Talent in 2013 when she was 7 years old, she sang Gloomy Sunday. For her next performance she sang I'm A Fool To want You (A cappella). Both of those performances are also available on RUclips. Angelina makes all of her own choices, by the way, from the musical arrangement to the vocal delivery, and everything in between.

This girl's talent is really vast. She didn't reach adulthood yet, yet she covered already over a hundred songs in different styles and she gave concerts and appeared on TV multiple times since she was 7 years old. In addition to singing she plays 4 instruments and she also paints. Furthermore she released a book and became Norway's youngest author.
Regarding her originals, there are a few (her first composition I believe was "What is Life" at the age of 12), but only recently she signed with a record label (Republic Records). So, from this year forward more originals are expected to be released. Angelina is not only talented, she's also a very kind-hearted person, she performs barefoot to fight child poverty and she raised millions of dollars for children's charities.
You should watch her on America’s got talent!! Her cover of queens song is amazing! She won Norway got talent at the age of 7!

You have fallen into the vortex of Angelina Jordan who arguably brings the most confident, versatile, seemingly effortless, and fearless vocal artistry found today (whether measured across artists, genres, or decades). You may think this an exaggeration but listen to a few more of her many performances (125+ covers plus original songs - all on YT) and you will see! She has been performing at a high level all over the world since age 8 when she won Norway's Got Talent singing Billie Holiday , Nancy Sinatra , and Gershwin. It is the rare singer that can, as Angelina has done, go from Etta James to Queen to "Screamin" Jay Hawkins to Adele to Elvis to Whitney Houston to Frank Sinatra to Amy Winehouse (and many others in between) and do them all justice! If you want to hear music, listen to anyone. If you want to feel music, listen to Angelina. She will stagger you with her ability to find and bring forth the 'essence', the emotional message of nearly any song. You have far to go with Angelina. She is equally comfortable and equally able to impact us whether singing a cappella, accompanied only by a piano or guitar, in front of professional studio musicians or a 40 piece military band. With her immense vocal toolkit, arranging ability (yeah, that too, since about 8yo or so) and the work ethic to make what she does only 'seem' effortless, she will hopefully be touching hearts for a long time to come. This is the kind of music we have almost lost. There simply is too little of it. From Bessie Smith through Nina Simone, there is a grace and nobility that I simply do not hear in modern singers - even when they are genuine in their expression.

Yes, her talent is rare. She has raspiness, breathiness, vocal fry, etc. And the most important her ability to convey emotion into songs. She always sings in variations and improvisations not just a straight melody. But unfortunately, most people today doesn't really appreciate this kind of talent. Great reaction.

I have listened to many cover of I'd Rather Go Blind by many talented adult singers. No performance matches this. Well, Angelina has been a jazz singer forever. Jazz is her root. It's in her blood. Strange, isn't it? Anyway, she has a number of originals. Her latest one, 7th Heaven, the lyric version, was released only a few weeks back. In fact, the live studio recording, was released yesterday. and It's fantastic. a young 15 years doing jazz like nobody business. Great reaction. I really enjoyed it. Hope to hear more from you.

Jazz is her main love but can sing and cover many people including the yellow pages, also speak other languages and can play other instruments. QueenOfficial retweeted her performance on AGT-C (recorded Oct. '19) and praised her for it. She also has a slower version found on her official channel. Her birthday is Jan. 10, 2006 so we can usually guess her age... Thank you for a really nice reaction (totally predictable) and a great question about AJ's own music. You have some very enjoyable moments coming your way. I am in my 70s and have loved jazz and blues for ever. I first heard Angelina singing 'Gloomy Sunday' at age 7 on Norway's got talent. Her version of Gershwin's 'Summertime' would be impressive for an adult but for a 7 year old girl, it was amazing.
Her 9 year old self sung 'I put a spell on you' and made changes to that Screaming Jay Hawkins arrangement that will floor you. (It is the live studio black and white version that shows her off best). Watch her rehearsing 'Fly me to the moon' for Quincy Jones birthday. One that is not often mentioned but is an amazing song which makes AJ sound like Elvis is 'How great thou art'. Angelina has done several versions of Etta's 'At Last' and she pulls off Nina's 'Feeling good' in a magical manner.
