The fact that India has an ocean named after it blows my mind...such was the cultural influence of our country that people took out expeditions to find naval route to India and ended up finding America(happened with Columbus).
Europeans have named many islands to the west of Europe as West Indies and to the east as East Indies.
Independent India's navy have always been weaker, though our South Indian empires like Chola and Pandya took out expedition to South East Asia.
However we have maintained maritime presence & are still the major power in the Indian Ocean region.
The Chola also conquered major parts of South East Asia as they were the major trade hubs, even in those days. It is due to that, Indian Classics such as Ramayan and Mahabharata and the trinity of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiv are found in South East Asia too.

@Ayush Singh Raghuwanshi Yes, that's correct but the problem is that if people don't show the whole map of India, the whole world will ultimately forget that those areas are not of Pakistan. Then it will be hard for us to make them understand and change their perception that those areas are integral part of India.

@@thelivingdead1728 the difference between Goa and Tibet is, in the case of Tibet, China marched in with their army and captured towns and villages in the Tibetan land. They forced the government to hand power to China (which according to the UN is an international crime). Now in the other hand. In the case of Goa, Portugal willingly surrendered and transferred power to India because of administrative troubles. There was no use of military, just a document signing. That's is how the 2 cases differ. Similarly, Kashmir is by law, a part of India (the ex ruler willingly gave full control of the princely state of Kashmir over to the Indian government). In 1947-48 both armies of India and Pakistan marched into Kashmir to claim it (though legally it belongs to India). The point where the armies clashed was the start of the first Indo Pak war. A ceasefire was agreed upon and the captured territories were claimed by both countries as IA Kashmir and Pok. This is the real story. Sources- Wikipedia and Google.

@@Deno2100 tbh if you look at the geography there is no way china's can fight the Indian navy in Indian ocean cause it can leave the east and south china sea unprotected and they can only get through a few destroyers and covrettes through the gap near indonesisa there is no way India can cut china's supply from the entire world in a war situation which is the only reason despite India goin in to the doklam plateau, China threatned war but got back on the table after weeks and vacated the area along with India it sought truce even when it didn't want to.

अंडमान is strategic if and only if India is able to make a port there, tibeteans once upon a time considered their land unconquerable. But now Chinese own them. Similarly अंडमान even though strategic it is far from main land and if a war breaks out the Chinese or Burmese can take over the island and the strategic importance is only on paper.
Andaman is not as strategic, it's Car Nicobar, specifically the southern region of Great Nicobar near Indira point, where India already has a very strategic military base close to one of the world's most important shipping lanes

People saying that POK is a part of India and the map shown is wrong. It's true that the map shown is wrong as per the accord and I also want to get POK back. But we Indians has to agree that its almost impossible now that POK will be returned to India. Actually even a KM of boundary is not gonna shift in any side. And as modi in his speech in laddakh said to chinese that "the era of expansionism is over". It also applies to India. Only a World War can only shift the boundary of controlled areas now between India, Pak and China.
As early the people of all 3 countries understands this, it will be good for them and politicians will only then be able to shift their manifestos to "vikas".
