- How to get the tire on the rim of an Emove cruiser. This method works on both the REAR and FRONT tires. I just did the in-depth video on the front tire. This is a more in-depth description of using zip ties to help get the tire on the rim. I use 14” zip ties weight rated for 50 lbs. The higher the weight rating the thicker the zip ties, making them not as flexible and not as easy to pull though the tire at the end. Don’t forget a little dish soap/water mix to lube the rim and tire edges.
Nice work. Good idea👍
Hey man, absolutely saved me time and money with this video! Had to comment to show thanks, good stuff.❤
You’re welcome! I know I was having such a hard time doing the tire change myself. And then I figured out this after some trial and error, I figured I better share it with other people. I know I sent the video to voromotors also and they said they would forward it to people that called in saying they can’t get their new tire on the rim.
Worked like a charm. Thank you!
Thanks
Well done! Thanks again for sharing. I was thinking of using hose clamps. But, seems like that'll be more trouble than the zip ties. Do you use any tire sealant? My go to is "Flatout". I know they recommend Dr. Orange or that armadillo one. But I like this one so much better.
The tires come with a sealant coating inside the tire from voromotors. So it’s a sticky 1/8” coating so if a puncture happens the sticky gel is supposed to self seal.
@@StevenProchnow-cb5hj Ah right, I should've specified. I have an older model/tire set. They didn't come with any tire sealant. Recently the controller gave out. But fortunately I have a 2 year warranty that is still in effect. Voromotors was generous and sent me an upgraded Sinewave controller. Also took to sealing the empty space behind the rear signal lights with insulation foam for waterproofing. And the sides of the front bumper with some Caulk. Not sure how much you get, but I get enough over to warrant some degree of counter measures. Thought you might find that useful.
Good video thanks. Only suggestion would be to change the camera angle or ditch the hat if you record it again.
I know I thought of that after I made the video. I just set my camera on the workbench and worked underneath it and of course I couldn’t see how the video was turning out. Next time I’ll have somebody video me doing it when I do the tire change. That way my head won’t get in the way.
Hi, remade the video. I got another flat rear tire. Check it out on my channel.
