Joined a radio club and set up my first station recently. They helped me make a j-pole, and this same antenna. President gifted me a MFJ versa tuner 2. Bought a 991a and I can do about anything with 1 radio and 2 homemade antennas lol. My first contact was a guy in Slovenia. This a great hobby.
Love the videos and yalls trio and the best piece of advice I have is continue to make videos even if they don’t get much recognition bc the more videos you make and the longer you make them the better at making conversation on camera and the more comfortable you will get and in general the videos will gain more quality and traction, keep it up guys 👍🏻
Oh, we will for sure have more videos on BBSing, I'm hoping to dig down into that subject a lot further now that we've got that first video on them done! - Timmy
If you look closely at around 15:21, you can see that one conductor has been pulled through one of the solder holes in the PL-259 on the shield side. They don't both go through the center conductor. Nathan has had this antenna installed for the last three years at his house and has worked the world on it. To be fair, I didn't get a good shot of the connector being installed. - Tim KB9SNL

one of my favorite parts of the hobby
Very good build I use one with great results. Mine was mfj but wire broke I just put new copper wire on it and back running.73s
The best antennas are made outside, in the rain or snow, on a Monday. Otherwise, the antenna will give you fits trying to make it work !!
The big clown with the PI symbol is a character!
Why both side of your 400 ohms in centre of your pl 259 ?
Exactly. That antenna won't work. On a G5RV, one leg of the dipole goes to the center conductor and the other leg goes to the outer conductor.

I watched from 21:10 to 24:30 and never saw a wire through the hole. I’m glad you made this comment. Thought I was missing something else.
Pues si la hicieron. Pero en donde esta la prueba de que si funciona y con balun o sin el? Gracias.
