I understand how some people can dislike this song, maybe because it makes them feel a type of sorrow that they can't seem to handle, or its not 'Their type' of music. For me, I love it. Its soothing yet sad. I like to listen to these songs after a hard day. It makes me relax. Think about things I usually can't think of during the day. I miss the weeks where people could just push their worries out of the way....but sadly that only lasts at a young age. I wish one day though, the world will be more of a peaceful place without war, and just friendship. No matter of religion or who thinks who is right....they will get out their hands and shake them saying 'I do not personally agree with *something* but even with that, I will still stand by your side till the end.'

Today as I sat listening to this song, my 5 year son asked what I was listening to? I invited him to sit and listen with me. I told him to close his eye's and listen. At the end I asked him how it made him feel or what he felt while listening.. he replied saying " it sounds like heaven daddy, like angels dancing" I smiled and agreed.

Thank you! And yes I do realize some of my songs have become famous. I personally never imagined it would happen. I enjoy music for the art. Only downside is I still don’t even make enough funds and with a baby on the way, I work 2 jobs. Numbers can be deceiving . I would love to just make music and travel and support my family, but It doesn’t feel like I “made it”

I just wanted to let you know that this song has gotten me through a lot of very difficult nights. I struggle with depression and for a while I self-harmed. When I found this song I played it over and over and over and it made me feel like I was worth fighting for, for myself. It made me feel imperfect but powerful in those imperfections. I want you to know that on the nights I wanted to cry and die, I would play this on repeat and it would get me through until I could remind myself that with each day a new start comes and with that a new chance to get better. Every time I played this song it made me a little stronger. I want you to know this and I want to thank you, even if you never read this. Thank you for creating such moving pieces. Thank you for sharing this piece of your soul. Thank you so much, because without it, I'll be honest, I do not think I would be here to write this. You are amazing, and talented and again, Thank You.

Michael, this song is truly the most beautiful piece I've ever heard and deserves way more recognition. Even now, 6 years after it's original publishing, I'm still madly in love with it and can listen to it for hours on end without getting tired of a single note or melody. This piece of art is truly incredible and has been done by a legend and a true musician
I've always give definition and a powerful meaning to this piece, when it first starts, its slow piano, which represents weakness, and a point where you can't fight anymore, losing hope and worth, wanting to just end it all, but when the faster part comes in it represents strength and dealing with grief, being powerful and making it though the hard times, and then again slow piano, you've broken down again, this time you've lost all hope, you feel perhaps numb, numb to everything, but then it slowly down even more, this means you're now ready, ready to end it, everything is prepared, faster piano comes in, you stop and think for a minute, how is this gonna help me, what about my family, how will they deal with this, what if my dad comes after me, leaving my mom alone with no-one, ending up feeling just like me, and as the song comes to an end, this represents you backing away from this decision.

it represents the agony, true pain. that person (looks like a female) wants to escape herself, her body, her cage in which she is trapped, it seems to be an eternity since she felt... joy, but now... the "hands" of insanity start to grow from her, from ears, from her nose, from her eyes, hands that soon will cover her entire body along with her soul, from all that pain she had to endure untill now, the moment when she will feel safe... again, what she doesn't know though, is that... there may be no turning back

I was on a trip in my super old liked videos, feeling the nostalgia and then I found this again. Sparked a little something in me when I saw the Title / Thumbnail.
I had a dream about this song. A bad one. All of my friends had their eyes cut out and you could see the inside of their heads. They were chasing me and my friend Adam. Adam found an old piano in a basement and played this song on it before telling his crush that he liked her and letting her kill him. My mind is messed up when it comes to dreams :/
