    Idea for you, how about the YF 23 against the YF 22 and then the winner goes on to SU 57 or J 20 or fight against them 2 then the winner fights the winner out of both matches.
    So 4 matches in all.
    I hope that made sense and you get what I'm getting at.
    I really hope the YF 23 is modelled in the game, as I think it's better than the F 22, and the US picked the wrong fighter.

Don't drop a bunch of cash then get frustrated with it and say no I don't like it then you're out a bunch of cash. I love these missions, for some added “realism”, you could setup surprise spawn defenders… since military intel is only so accurate, additional fighters, sams, or ships etc. could appear before, during or after mission checkpoints.., obviously you’d know they’re going to happen, but forcing the grim reapers to adjust on the fly would be a awesome challenge and would definitely spice things up.

    CAP, another mission idea:
    Geekpoet's version of Aces:Iron Eagle 3
    * In this mission the Blue side is attacking a Mexican Cartel's main headquarters, drug production facility and 4 light attack aircraft using only Warbirds.
    The rules:
    * Each side only gets one life.
    * There are no SAM sites defending the Cartel's buildings.
    * The Red side will have a few soldiers on the ground defending the Cartel's buildings using only light machine guns. No large caliber weapons are available.
    * Blue Side:
    The Blue side wins by destroying the Cartel's main headquarters, the drug production facility, and the 4 light attack aircraft.
    There is only 1 plane available for each of following aircraft types. Once someone selects a particular aircraft it is then removed from the list.
    Messerschmitt Bf-109
    Lockheed P-38 Lightning
    Mitsubishi A6M Zero
    Supermarine Spitfire
    Weapon load out is determined by Blue pilots.
    * Red Side:
    The Red side wins by defending both of the Cartel's buildings plus the destruction of the Warbirds.
    The Red side will be using either 4 Aermacchi MB-339 or 4 Aero L-39 Albatross.
    Again, weapon load out is determine by Red pilots.

    SA-15s can't shoot above 20,000 ft, and cannot target a HARM at full burn, so if you fire the HARM at min range, it will almost always hit. Also, it's very easy to drain an SA-15, because the range is so short.

    I suck so bad at aerial refueling, and like Simba stated, it's all about the throttle control. I can stay even with the tanker I just have so much trouble with my speed. And I am sure it's exactly how he described it. Not patient enough to wait for the engines to spool up and give me that little bit of speed...so I add more and now I am over shooting. I am getting better tho. And the jet makes all the difference. The F-16C is the worst one for me, the Hornet is the easiest. All the others are a mixed bag

  • @cpt_stupid82
    @cpt_stupid82 2 месяца назад

    Simba talking about the engine spool time reminds me of the spool time of the engine in a M1 Abrams. You gas the throttle and it takes about 1-2 seconds before you feel it. For those that don't know, the engine in an Abrams is a modified jet engine. o7

      if gravity affected fuel flow, they wouldn't be able to perform half the manoeuvres they could without the engine shutting off. As a pure guess I'd say it's a closed pressurised system.... outboard fuel tanks hang below the aircraft.

      @SA80TAGE I'm not talking about fuel that's in the tank. I'm wondering about fuel running in from the probe. Maybe the probe is up high just for visibility, or maybe it also needs to be higher than the tanks so fuel can fall into them. Just wondering if anyone here knows for sure.

    Holding it would have been another thing, of course, but did they have enough long-range righter-bombers to pave the way for a few AN-12s loaded with troops & gear? Given the lousy state of Iran in 1980 I think 6 transports would have been enough, but at least 3 would have to land to unload heavy weapons.
