Until the last election, I had always voted Labour, as a working man. However, the drift to the woke far left of politics made me vote for National and New Zealand First at the last election. Labour has deserted the working man and their support for the Greens and Te Pati Maori will see them in opposition for a number of years to come.
Until labour finally goes back to supporting miners, they will no longer be for the workers. The party seems to represent beneficiaries and gangsters now.
As a Maori myself I've never looked at the Maori party as a good representation of Maori. Whilst I think their cause is admirable at its core, it just isn't realistic and has become far too extreme. As someone who has mainly had Pakeha friends throughout my life, I often find myself stuck in the middle as I have been surrounded by rhetoric from both sides my whole life and it always stems from the fact that people are unable to separate emotions from politics. I believe in generations from now the future New Zealanders will look back and be embarrassed by our immaturity when it comes to how we have represented our political agenda's. Even if someone has a different political view than yourself, you must still show that person respect because he is a Kiwi too. We all want a better New Zealand, once people realise this, only then will progress be made.
I understand being frustrated enough to make a video with this much passion behind it, most who don't have a good understanding of politics will be easily triggered by this video. I am a Māori and never voted once for The Māori Party, it done nothing for my family that we couldn't do on our own, I'm afraid some people are so dependent on a "You're a victim to this and that" system they go along with garbage they are force-fed and vote accordingly which is sad. Helen Clarke and Jenny Shipley were the last prime ministers to affect me positively. Kia Kaha my bro

I am a kiwi that left 20 years ago to the UK. Are Māori called far right bigots by the media for complaining about colonisation like native Europeans are who are actively being colonised? Seems there are two standards here, colonisation by white man bad, by brown and black man good. For those that don't know natives in London and many cities are minorities now and in 100-200 years I predict it will be an Islamic state. I always say that the only foreigners that should be given citizenship here in the UK are Māori, Aborigionals and Native Americans, the only people that do not have their own homeland and are not self governed, they are the only ones justified in living here if they wanted to.
@@markus-lt2dm yes, I should have said The Māori Party, not Māori as I know loads of Māori that are happy and hold no grudges, like many New Zealanders I have Māori uncles, aunts and cousins and never once have they said anything bad about us whities or brought up history. What does a Māori sound like? Māori are not a mindless political monolith, they have a highly diverse array of opinions about the Māori Party. Colonialism still has many negative legacies to this day. Nowhere in this video did I deny them or suggest that we do nothing to address them.
Don't forget that the treatment of Maori was done by Pakeha who are an ancestor of every Maori alive today. Maori like to say "the pakeha" as if they are not as much a part of those same pakeha as they are part of the Maori who were mistreated.
