The Inverter board sadly happens to commonly go bad on the regular residential units as well…. Important to know, you need to allow 15-30 minutes from power being disconnected for it properly discharge before you touch that board, as it does hold voltage levels you don’t want to feel

Contacted Senville and they happily offered to send a new board. I declined and requested a new condenser and they said they would send me a new unit. VERY DISAPPOINTING however they were willing to make it right with no resistance and I can appreciate that.
Same thing happened to me. Swapping out the board in 35° C was NOT fun, but not immensely difficult either. Take your time and take the pics and it should be fine. One other thing that happened to me is that there was a cable that was loose for some reason on the inside of the unit that caught on the fan and prevented it from spinning. Once I figured that out, it started right up.
I was waiting to hear what screws to take out of the back to replace the board, and what panels to take off to get access to the screws, but you only covered disconnecting/reconnecting the wires (which between the plugs & the wire colors is pretty dummy proof.)
Thanks so much for this video. I just ordered the Senville 24BTU mini split from Amazon as well for $750. Got the the extra 4yr Amazon Warranty Protection. I will have a licensed AC person to install it. I hope I won't have to deal with the circuit board like you did.
@@cadizwilmo9687 what started with one unit 24,000 BTU SENVILLE LETO at our main house influenced our decision. Now we have 16 of them in our extended family and property rentals. We never has any problems they are very quiet on the inside.
Get a Voltage and Surge Protector for the MiniSplit , more likely a voltage surge caused the damage . Protect it ! . Mini splits are SUPER sensitive to voltage drops and surges ! it will connect directly to the disconnect > " Intermatic AG3000 120/240 VAC Universal HVAC Surge Protective Device"
They make whole-home surge protectors you just plug into two spaces in your electrical panel. Obviously have an electrician do it but it will help save you!
I have read that this can happen with a power surge. I understand code now requires a whole house power surge controller be installed in all new electric installations. It makes sense to me. In any case, the cost of the surge protector is not that high.
I just picked up a Senville 9k for a non-critical application. My other two units are Mitsubishi. In 16 years, the Mitsu's have never failed. I wonder if it's simply shipping/handling of these units which cause it to be a luck of the draw. If handled properly in transit (no drops or collisions with other heavy objects), they seem to operate forever. I'm hoping my new Senville does the same! Thanks again!
Electronics fail differently than mechanical systems. They tend to fail more frequently at the beginning of their service lifetimes and at the end of their service lifetimes. This is sometimes called a bathtub curve. Warrantees are great!
This happened to my LG after 8 years. In my case it was code ch67 and seems the outside fan motor quit and took out the circuit board. The fan motor wire harness fuse was blown as well but was not enough to protect the board
It is worth to know what part is actually broken on the component level on that chunky assembly, and what caused that. I guess there is a lower quality capacitor gone bad due to heat.
I’m trying to figure out the heating cycle… the two of mine recently installed, seem to display an incoming temperature higher than true room temperature while operating via the app that controls unit and supposedly is monitoring the temperature sensors as well, and my assumption prematurely cycling heating off before the room is heated to desired set point.. this will probably only make sense to those using the Wi-Fi usb plug in option.. so if anyone happens to read this and is having similar issues please touch base… love the units but I’m new to them as well and currently having to set them at unreasonably high set points to achieve a reasonable official set point.
Use you follow me function on ur remote and put ur remote down lower. i put mind on the coffee table. In wifi mode and not using the remote i set my room temp higher than normal to make up the difference in heating. In ac it will be colder down lower.
My installer installed mines I have a quad zone 36k. He got all the lines and wires hooked up on the outside and started hooking up the inside got the first one hooked up and turned it on and it worked fine from cool to heat. He left the power on and hooked the 2nd one up and the wires touch. Now won’t nothing come on and it’s giving me a e1 01 code. I called senville they say it must be the outside control board

Unless they asked for it to be returned, hang onto that board! With a heat sink that big - it’s probably an inverter. You’ll see a bunch of MOSFETS screwed to it. That’s more than likely what croaked.
Well this isn't giving me much faith in purchasing one. Starting to see why the hvac quotes I've been getting, the units they use are 3 times the cost of the amazon ones.

I just ordered 6 senville mini splits and will be installing them myself (I have all the equipment, vacuum pump, gauges etc, I have installed many units over the past 10 years). Curious if they will at least send me replacement parts if any of them break if I did not have a licensed hvac person install them.
great follow up. recently installed a Sville also and NOW i'm thinking ok how do i hook up a surge protector for it after its wired to the main panel with a quick disconnect ? Trolling motors are also "prone" to fail and cost quite a bit. is this the way of electronics these days ? thx Zeke NC

That support is as good as anyone could hope for in my opinion. I just bought 2 36000 units running 6 indoor heads (5 ceiling cassettes and one 24k wall mount). I also ordered the wifi kits (not included by default in ceiling cassette). Had some questions hooking it up and they were very helpful. Fingers crossed they last a long time. They're made by Midea, same as many other brands (including carrier).

A surge protector (on the disconnect box) may be wise especially if your electric suppy is prone to such.

Install a Kool Guard 2 voltage and surge protection device. This will protect your boards! They run about $200 installs on your outside disconnect.
Install MOV varistors at the input power terminals of the unit to handle power surges.

If an electrolytic capacitors goes bad due to heat, look for a bulging top.

Your installer doesn’t sound like a pro.. the entire system shouldn’t have been energized till all electrical and lineset were installed…

Catastrophic failure like this on a brand new unit???? Forget Senville and similar units.
