ikr this came out when i was 15 and i heard the original song first and then when i heard this version i was like WTF THIS SOUNDS HORRIBLE but if they didn't think it was "appropriate" then wtf use the song in the 1st place? smh that's why i hate disney they ALWAYS have to make people change for them when kids aren't that stupid
@@Laurenlife Clearly they liked the tune of the song and it was Jesse McCartney who was pretty big for Disney at the time (as he appeared on The Suite Life of Zack & Cody the year prior), so they of course wanted to market off this. I don't mind the changes, it works fine.
I remember seeing this music video right when it came out. So I went to the original version, and I payed more attention to the lyrics..and thinking "wow, these lyrics are mostly about sex, I can believe this was in a Disney movie." but they changed almost every word in this song for the kids version lol.
This is not true. They barely changed anything in the song. The only things were changed were minor. Also, I don't feel the lyrics were mainly about sex. Romance =/= sex. You can make a justification for any change to be less "sexual".
I remember when I was in 3rd grade, the year this movie came out, we were all doing halloween crafts in class when everyone just started signing this song... i don't know it just brings back so many memories.
Wow. I remember I was in 9th grade when this movie came out and I started liking Jesse McCartney songs. Some people were into "trashy rap songs" like Chicken Noodle soup by DB Webster. But I was into this song over that one. I even got up and danced to this music video when I accidentally had the tv on on a school night. This song woke me up and I did a quick dance before going back to sleep.
THAT'S HILLARIOUS! Hehe, he's a cheeky boy though. I like that he was willing to alter it for them. I remember seeing the movie on DC and hearing the song, and I was singing along and all of a sudden my words didn't match! Haha! ^_^
A Disney fav of mine Return To Halloween Town, part of a movie series of...four movies? Or three. They usually play when it gets close to Halloween on the Disney channel.
Not only is the song ridicouly shortened, but the lyrics are altered to contradt themselves. "Girl don't keep me waiting, now's the time to get away"...and then he proceeds to say "Take me on a journey." Does he want her to leave or take him on a journey? It doesn't make much sense. Besides this weird Disney version, this song fits the Twilight series imo. Or at least the first couple books.
I'm laughing so hard at how much they changed the song omg

I'm sure Jesse McCartney was laughing all the way to the bank with this "Disnified" version of the song lol
I mean he was whoth Hollywood records which was/is owned by disney so technically they owned it amd him anyways
😂😂😂

The commercials for the movie with this song playing made me so hyped! The good old days of being so excited for the lasted DCOM movie release
this song was literally the reason i wanted to watch this movie in the first place

The lyrics are even more suggestive in the un-Disnified version.
You crazy? No they are not.
WAR FLASHBACKS
haha the lyrics are so much more different on the original song. wow..
Not only is the song ridicouly shortened, but the lyrics are altered to contradt themselves.
