@@Ok-jq2ib more? i wouldnt say that. the thrift stores i go to also sell completely new clothes as well. they wash all the clothes they get as as well as reject any clothes that have any sort of smell or stain. not to mention that clothing stores people are trying it on and just putting it back on the rack. they have chemicals on them a lot of the times that are not healthy for you and some people have gotten sick from wearing unwashed clothes from clothing stores because of the formaldehyde and other chemicals on it.

I was thinking the same thing. I found the cutest halter top at one of those teens-20something resale stores. I hate a halter but I loved this top so much that I brought it to a tailor to have it converted to a tank. 15 years later it's still one of my fav comfy/cute tanks ❤ Eta: the straps didn't look insane like the one here but if you looked closely you could see they were a little closer than normal tanks

I found the most gorgeous black gothic guess bag at the thrift store today. I gave it to my friend because she couldn’t find anything cute since she’s a shorter girl. I’m sad I had to give my find away but seeing my friend so hyped about it was worth it.

If things are actually gross, you'd smell it. I wear things on my bare skin if I need to and I wash myself later on. Just a nice shower, after thrifting, no problem. Nobody with horrible skindiseases that are supercontagious is going to go out of their way to put their items in the thriftshop. Nobody with an invested house with bedbugs or whatever, will drive all the way to Goodwill to bring their items. They would have noticed, they would have thrown it out. And honestly, call me gross, but even if something is in the dumpster or it is super-old and discoloured in the neck, I would still put it on ( like if someone else wants to have it as well and we're checking who gets to keep it.) Only times I did not wear it before was 1. when someone gave me a beautiful red velvet cloak that had beervomit on it. 2. When a beautiful jeansjacket with ruffles had such a greasy, yellow neckline that I couldn't even hold it without it slipping from my fingers and 3. When a cute bathrobe was given to me by a woman that used tanning-cream and she smeared it all over the thing. So far, the only thing I have responded badly to (in terms of a rash) is when they áre washed beforehand and the person has put extra detergent and perfume on them. Thát itched for days and left big red marks, turns out I was allergic to the washingpowder.
The pull is actually just stretched. Some needle nose pliers will tighten it back up good as new. I just got my son a leather jacket from the thrift store and fixed this exact problem.
I worked in retail for years. Trust me even department stores have clothes that have already been worn a bunch of times! It’s called the fitting room 😂 there all mostly already work clothes when you buy them. Just wear a tank and under garments to “ protect “ yourself and wash when you get home before wearing for real. Plus just check the clothes for …. Gross stuff possibly stains or maybe creepy crawlers.
The great thing about having friends that are different sizes are that none of us have to worry about one of us finding something and the other liking it bc we’re not the same size even if we like it it’s not gonna fit the same. Also that last brown jacket looked so good on her though omg.

But I have been buying vinyl ‘ books ‘ dvd’s ‘ clothes etc for 20+ years and have found ridiculously great deals over my years of collecting!!!Just got a lovely reebok wind breaker jacket with tags still on for £15 ! And 10 studio ghibli dvd’s £10 !!! And one of the best items is nirvanas incesticide lp on sky blue vinyl £2.50 !!!! Those would be the best things I found so far this year !!!! Happy hunting !!!!!
the solution to your friends also finding the good stuff is going with specific friends. either with friends who are a different size from yours and/or with a different style. if they know what style you're going for they can help you

And it’s always the same people who try on clothes in changing rooms from actual stores as if that’s any different? You do know that at least god knows how many people tried the clothes on before you right? 😭 You have to know if the clothes fit you so obviously you try it on.. Shirts, Sweaters, Jackets, & dresses, are all okay but trying on pants BY ITSELF is probably not.. as long as it doesn’t come into full contact with your skin then 👍 I always wear a thin long sleeved shirt under my hoodie if I go shopping, some leggings at least, and ofc the slippers in case we go shoe shopping :p Just make sure to wash it before fully wearing the clothes

The last jacket isn't broken. it's a 2-way zipper. You can pull the zip down to create decolte and / or open it from below depending on how you like fashion it between formal or sexy, warm or cold.
I try things on usually over a tight outfit like a thin long sleeves shirt and leggings (which go to wash after I go home) or if I try it on on how I would wear normal clothes I shower when I get home. Never had any issues.
That is exactly why i go thrifting alone even if i am lonely 😭 I go thrifting when i really need clothes so i would be very sad if i go there and then my friend finds something that they really like (i would be very happy for them of course i would just be like aww man 😭) so i just go alone and listen to some music

I remember those lace tanks from when I was in college in the early 2000s. Early on, places like Forever21 and Papaya were selling those and a lot of girls wore them under a blazer. I'm not sure why the straps were close like that, but at least they never fell down!

I found a Levis denim maxi skirt for 1 dollar (!), and the most beautiful lamp that is more than 100 year old, for only 6 dollars. Thrifting is the best! I wish we had more of it in my small town
