I love how they are revisiting this Flashback which they showed part of in the first episode. Now getting to see this whole flashback with Clark meeting Lois for the first time, Perry White as the tough as nails Boss, the investigative journalist(s) in action all coming into play so perfectly.
I think Morgan retrieved the headbands from his fortress to go to Clark's to enter his memories. That's probably what he meant when he said "not all hope is lost" .
All I can say is Superman & Lois is not missing any beat because it's really good. The first few minutes of of the episode combined everything from Superman: The Movie with the creation of the Fortress with the crystal borrowing into the ice, Clark Kent learning about his heritage just like in MOS/Superman: The Movie, Clark training understanding his powers from MOS, and of course Lois & Clark with Martha Kent creating his first costume being Max Fleischer's Superman costume and paying homage to Action Comics #1 with him saying a victim as a Chrysler PT cruiser was about to fall on the kid.
I love the reference to “Superman Smashes the Klan” when he takes down that nazi guy. The designs were taken straight from the story and both their costumes looked amazing!
I tried to explain that “The Atom Man” is a long standing Superman character and this particular design was taken right out of that story. But everyone is like OH it just a bunch of “woke” nonsense. I’m like nah...Supes has been fending off Nazis and the Klan since forever.

Not even gonna lie in the beginning of this episode I thought it was gonna be a flashback filler episode but damn was I wrong! This show just keeps getting better and better
At 8:54 I caught the comment regarding where Martha made that suit out of, the suit is just a normal fabric. However, there is an explanation why the suit seems invincible as Superman. Superman's aura extends a few cm or inches from his skin to cover the suit. That is the reason why the suit does not get destroyed easily or seems invincible as Superman.
That was so beautiful Clark saying he had some Seinfeld to catch up on. Took a few minutes to make the connection... that Jerry was a huge fan in real life and had a Supes figurine on his bookshelf throughout the whole run of the series. Nice.
The best part of it was that it was an AMAZING homage to both Donner and Snyder's takes on Superman and the fact that it was an incredible origin story while also actually serving the overall plot without being filler. There's been no filler so far. That's the best thing.
This episode was SO good. Starting with cuteness and then ripping my heart out. I was so scared when we saw Edge. There has been forshadowing of Jon dying and though im sure it wont happen im still nervous.
My reaction to the kiss: "Alright, Jordan!! Get your girl, dude!!" And now my input: 1.) I love how Jordan tried using his heat vision to protect Jonathan and Lois from Morgan/Tar-Ro. He still needs to refine and master his Kryptonian abilities, but I'm glad he's come to terms with having them in the first place. 2.) I was honestly hoping that Superman would have pulled a rebellious "Kneel before Zod" moment like in Superman II from 1980 and CRUSHED his half-brother's fingers with his super strength. I refuse to believe that the man of steel would voluntarily agree to aid in a mass genocide/world conquest plot, even if it was to save his family from Tar-Ro's wrath. They HAVE to save Clark from the tyranny of his own half-brother.
I really don't think he had much of a choice. He's so weak at this point and couldn't even land correctly. So in his mind it's either have the family killed and get taken or the family lives to fight another day and get taken. I think that's what he meant by needing more time. It's a gamble but it's the only play he has in such a weak state.
I think he said that John was right specifically to indicate to Lois that they need him. He knew he didn't have much of a choice but to submit right now.
I so love the chemistry between Elizabeth and Tyler. All the little throwbacks to the comics are so cute. They were also very careful to bring current relevant events into the story. The filming is just so epic and the performances of everyone are incredible. I think this is one of my favorite episodes. I also love that Lois was into Clark 1st before Superman.
As someone with Indian ancestry, the minorities being targeted thing hit close to home. I'm impressed at how they're taking on issues without making it "woke". The show tackles things like gender equality/equity, mental health, substance abuse, addiction, bullying etc without being preachy like some other shows on the cw. The point that Lois met and spent time with Clark first before acquainting with Superman makes it distinguishable from the prior Superman adaptations. Lois is not head over heels with Sups that's why it became a professional interview at the station instead of a personal rooftop getaway. Since Pa Kent already passed away, it is Clark and Lois who visits Martha in the farm instead of them getting visited by grandpa and grandma in Metropolis and in my opinion the reveal and marriage happened much earlier than other versions. My theory is that Clark's consciousness will be trapped in the eradicator and/or replaced by someone else in his body. @@mindsonloan it's a CW/HBO joint show and HBO are doing they're own Green Lantern show so they might not let them use Green Lantern in Superman and Lois
You know what I do like/love about this origin story? I like that Lois fell in love with Clark and not with Superman. In the comics and movies that is often what happens, Lois ignores Clark but loves Superman. This time the nerdy guy won the heart of the fair lady.
This was such an awesome episode, the origin, the age transition, the shirt rip, the costume change, the bird, plane tease, the chemistry, and at the end of it, the stakes were pretty high. Excellent episode. Everyone involved in the show has earned our trust with these iconic characters.
That has to be one of the best cliffhangers in recent memory. Clark is potentially turned bad. She's calling Steel to take him down, Jonathon still hasn't done anything of value except help Jordan to get a girlfriend. How will he get out of it? Assuming he's even in it and the laser eyes are just him pissed off that a hologram is calling the shots despite his inability to leave the fortress. If they both took a few steps outside, problem solved.
10:20 I absolutely love the way they show them looking at each other. I may be reading into this and will probably explain my thinking poorly but here goes. Just after Lois says she loves Clark and realizes Superman can hear her she turns to him in studio then they go to the shot I've indicated. From her vantage point she sees Superman in the studio and he sees her then it cuts to the next shot where it appears that the Superman on the screen and Lois are looking at each other. My thought was that it was showing how she sees him. She sees him through a screen. Lois sees the image Superman puts out there to the world through the TV and he's almost unreal to a point where she can't touch him. She can only watch him from a distance. Anyway that's the thought that came to my head. Or a very similar one that I lost the track of but it hopefully shows my intent. The intent that there are multiple things going on in this image. Coupled with the previous image to a degree but mostly this one. Thank you reading. Hit that Like button. Leave a comment and subscribe. Thanks to edit guy. Off we go. Actually I'm done. Bye.
Did anyone realize that the soundtrack in the entire backstory are exactly in-sync with the one in first episode? That's brilliant sound editing there.
I'm still watching these vicariously through you guys and tbh I'm thoroughly enjoying going through all the twists and turns with you guys ... not sure we'll ever get it in the UK but it's such an amazing show!
Your conversation about the glasses reminded me of the Christopher Reeve version where he’d part his hair on the other side. I have childhood pictures with my hair parted on alternating sides thanks to Superman!
So the thing about that green car scene on the highway, is the first ever Superman comic had that same framing of Superman lifting a green car of that style, with that same suit design. Its a great detail. If you look up the first superman cover and compare it to that shot, the similarities are all there and i love it.
It’d be so cool to have a mini series on Clark and Lois doing investigations!! Within that, Lois necessarily question Clark about how he knows things and always pops up at the right time and the right place and it would be a source of contention (but not drag it to Smallville levels 😂) and then he would tell her. Being the best reporter definitely means she would question him. I just think they didn’t show this here because it wasn’t the point and they would have no times for this in this episode.
“I believe he can fly but not that he isn’t recognized with glasses.” Come on guys. And nobody even thinks Superman has an identity to discover since he doesn’t wear a mask
Lol another definition of giving a pass. You can believe a man can fly but if you interact with Superman UP CLOSE and then Clark Kent UP CLOSE anyone could easily tell that the man we believe can fly is Clark Kent or at least his doppelgänger lol.
@@ReelRejects yeah nobody even points out the resemblance. I guess it's meant to be an endearing superman trope but I've seen professional psychologists try to explain how it's possible that people wouldn't make the connection.
I was in my feelings and even got a tingle when Lois finally hit on Clark. Then with little warning other than a screen flicker, they sucked all the energy out of me. It's dark outside. I need sun to recharge.
Also, Morgan said he planted his crystal in the desert as if it was better placement. It’s actually not 🤣🤣🤣 Up in the North Pole is actually better because the sun’s radiation reflects off the snow up to like 90% so Clark is getting sun radiation not only from the sun directly, but also from the ground as the reflection comes back to him.
@@novemberabend Perhaps, but it’s not like he lives at the fortress or depends on this. A true recharge requires Superman to go to space for more direct sun radiation, unfiltered by Earth’s atmosphere. Side note: I’m aware that I’m geeking all over this 😂😂
@@ahmadfadlyiksan3143 It protects the suit from damage not what's under the suit. When Supes is weak the field is weak which is why the thing got wrecked when Doomsday beat him down, why the impact of those bullets were able to bruise him, and why the Kryptonite ones were able to pierce right through.
@@ahmadfadlyiksan3143 | it was because he was weakened because of the kryptonite, it's more of a solar forcefield so if he is weakened by kryptonite or if he just uses up all of his solar energy then the Shield dissappears, he used to just have tough skin but the writers changed it because it doesn't make sense for superman to withstand nuclear explosions and all of that if he just has tough skin.
When he returns I wouldn't be shocked if John Henry Irons / Steel hasn't already deduced who Superman is, or if Lois tells him about their relationship. It would allow him to put himself in Clark's shoes and help him realize that both men would do anything necessary to try and save their families.
This episode's title is really long and in honor of that Greg is wearing "Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)" T-Shirt.
John looks exactly like my psychologist and I can't ignore that anymore But anyway, Tyler's my favorite Superman ever If the show gets 8 seasons with this quality it'll be the best Superman thing ever
The way Lois said “WHAT?!” When she was told she was having twins always gets me. Hahahaha How many episodes is this season? I don’t want it to end. It’s been so good!
Didn’t Edge go into Superman’s memories in order to learn who his family was? This way he can threaten to kill them in order to turn Superman. I don’t believe Edge even knew Lois was his wife did he? Just that she knew him and can call him to save her.
I usually forgive the not knowing part with the whole thing with the fact that at the time he’d not have his glasses on they’d be banging or something where the situation makes it so the last thing you’d be thinking hey he looks like superman although with lana in the previous episode had no excuse she was literally drinking his coffee just not long before 🤣
The entire part of Superman saving that kid from getting hit by that car is EVERYTHING about it is just amazing. Gets me my eyes all teary-eyed, ugh I wish the movies could be like that. I like Man of Steel don’t get me wrong, it if the DCEU super would have been like that, oh man! Lol
The whole Superman/Clark glasses thing I think was once tried to be explained as a sort of.. either a latent power that Superman had, or a piece of Kryptonian tech built into the glasses... that would essentially render people who see the wearer, not be noticeable as the person without the glasses... I know it makes little sense, but it's an explanation...whether you want to take it or not.... it's not explained in this continuity, but it was something thought up

@@Zuernaxashyr yes I know. His middle name is actually Thomas and Stewart is his step father's surname, I just threw it in there for those that might not have watched Arrow.
HBO? CW.
@@mindsonloan it's a CW/HBO joint show and HBO are doing they're own Green Lantern show so they might not let them use Green Lantern in Superman and Lois
@@mindsonloan HBO are helping with the budget.
You know what I do like/love about this origin story? I like that Lois fell in love with Clark and not with Superman. In the comics and movies that is often what happens, Lois ignores Clark but loves Superman. This time the nerdy guy won the heart of the fair lady.
Dude when jordan tried using his lazer vision i got hyped and then he got knocked down, but its understandable bc hes new to his powers
This was such an awesome episode, the origin, the age transition, the shirt rip, the costume change, the bird, plane tease, the chemistry, and at the end of it, the stakes were pretty high. Excellent episode. Everyone involved in the show has earned our trust with these iconic characters.
Ok we need a spin-off of this show to his early days at the planet and being Superman, two different Superman shows running concurrently to each other
I think were gonna get flashbacks especially the true lex luthor gonna be back next season
Gawd I love Tyler as Big blue!
Jordan getting wrecked by Edge reminds me of a scene from Young Justice: "To me, half a Kryptonian is half of nothing." Love it.
This show just continues to be so cool, exciting and beautiful all wrapped into one!
Every time I hear somebody say S&L for Superman & Lois I think of SNL for Saturday Night Live.......LOL.
This show is a freaking masterpiece
If only Krypton got this level of publicity
Sometimes i forget to admire the beauty of the show..🥺
Every week this shows keeps getting better and better, and every week I tear up inside knowing that this show doesn't get enough hype it deserves.
Yea because everyone only care about the MCU Disney+ fillers...kinda makes me sick
This is by far one of the best versions of his origin.
13:10 "ah damn Morgan got the Edge!"
Oh i see what you did there.
This was again ANOTHER great episode !!!! I love how they showed their time together and the dang end D:< i yelled at the screen yesterday
It was Tyler Hoechlin who was in Seventh Heaven, LOL.
Great reaction, guys. It's a pleasure to watch this wonderful show with you.
I was wondering if anyone had pointed this out yet! That was my first thought when they started discussing it!
Your conversation about the glasses reminded me of the Christopher Reeve version where he’d part his hair on the other side. I have childhood pictures with my hair parted on alternating sides thanks to Superman!
Yes, solid writing in this episode! Also brilliant and fun analysis from you guys. Cheers!
I’ve been team jarah from the jump and love how Jordan tried to fight edge
Aren't they the most endearing Lois and Clark we've ever had?
So the thing about that green car scene on the highway, is the first ever Superman comic had that same framing of Superman lifting a green car of that style, with that same suit design. Its a great detail. If you look up the first superman cover and compare it to that shot, the similarities are all there and i love it.
When Superman lifted the green car....that was the cover of the very first Superman comic book.
My favorite episode yet god I love this show. Literally a movie
Even at 16:30 your cat was getting hit with the feelings and crying out, "Oh NO!"!!!
Cant wait for the next episode. I know something very huge that happens in it.
All I'm saying: 😲😲😲😲😲
When Edge was beating superman in the fortress I was expecting you to shout THINK CLARK, THINK! Morgan Edge is almost Omniman 😂
And like I said, it’s a funny thing about Superman that has existed for decades lol
@@ReelRejects yeah nobody even points out the resemblance. I guess it's meant to be an endearing superman trope but I've seen professional psychologists try to explain how it's possible that people wouldn't make the connection.
@@ReelRejects there's a line in invincible.
If you don't expect a superhero in your school, there won't be.
It's less disbelief that people that don't *know* Clark can't tell it's him, but rather the ones that do.
7:35
Greg: Oops I drop my stapler.
John: Laughs like the count character from Sesame Street.
This show is truly a celebration of Superman
man this show is a masterpiece!
I was in my feelings and even got a tingle when Lois finally hit on Clark. Then with little warning other than a screen flicker, they sucked all the energy out of me. It's dark outside. I need sun to recharge.
Also, Morgan said he planted his crystal in the desert as if it was better placement. It’s actually not 🤣🤣🤣
Up in the North Pole is actually better because the sun’s radiation reflects off the snow up to like 90% so Clark is getting sun radiation not only from the sun directly, but also from the ground as the reflection comes back to him.
That makes all sense but he's got a problem for some time of the year when it comes to Polar Night 😂
@@novemberabend Perhaps, but it’s not like he lives at the fortress or depends on this. A true recharge requires Superman to go to space for more direct sun radiation, unfiltered by Earth’s atmosphere.
Side note: I’m aware that I’m geeking all over this 😂😂
Morgan edge and his dad are DC version of Malfoy family from Harry Potter
Superman's suit doesn't burn because he has a kinda aura like forcefield around him at all times.
John looks exactly like my psychologist and I can't ignore that anymore
But anyway, Tyler's my favorite Superman ever
If the show gets 8 seasons with this quality it'll be the best Superman thing ever
Spread its greatness so they maintain its budget, I'm worried no ones gonna watch this and suddenly the budget gonna decrease
The way the show gets better every episode is so good plus your guys reaction really great
Me dealing with tech. Four hours later. “Suns gettin’ real low buddy…..real low…”
Settle down, Hulk.
"oop i dropped my stapler" 😂😂😂😂 ... watching u guys from Oman 🇴🇲
I've watched this episode three times already. This show is amazing.
The way Lois said “WHAT?!” When she was told she was having twins always gets me. Hahahaha
How many episodes is this season? I don’t want it to end. It’s been so good!
There's 15 episodes for season one but we got to wait until July 13th for the next episode.
Been waiting all day for y'all's reaction to this episode!!!!!
Look forward to seeing what Tyler does in stretch his acting abilities, when he plays evil papa Edge.
Didn’t Edge go into Superman’s memories in order to learn who his family was? This way he can threaten to kill them in order to turn Superman. I don’t believe Edge even knew Lois was his wife did he? Just that she knew him and can call him to save her.
Yup you’re right
I want to see these people make a full on Superman origin movie!
If I was dating someone who wears glasses, out if curiosity, I automatically want to know what they look like without them
I actually forgot to watch this one because of school but thanks for reacting to thus you made My day better
That was a good flash episode! slow motion bomb going off with the flash trying to figure out what to do.
Just commented for the algorythm because I love the show and I love your reactions.
I usually forgive the not knowing part with the whole thing with the fact that at the time he’d not have his glasses on they’d be banging or something where the situation makes it so the last thing you’d be thinking hey he looks like superman although with lana in the previous episode had no excuse she was literally drinking his coffee just not long before 🤣
Best episode of the season so far. Great reaction, fellas.
The entire part of Superman saving that kid from getting hit by that car is EVERYTHING about it is just amazing. Gets me my eyes all
teary-eyed, ugh I wish the movies could be like that.
