Jacqueline Hughes performing "Defying Gravity" from Wicked on 23 Oct 16 in Singapore as part of President's Star Charity 2016. As shown on Mediacorp (Channel 5).
@@hassanrosman1953 Omg you don't know how rare that is!! That only happens on average like once every year or 2. I understand that if you only see the show once you wanna see her fly but if I saw a no-fly show I would've been so excited!!
Holy cow! When she hits those notes full voice she sounds like a Gospel singer! She took me to church for real!!!!! What a voice. What a singer! I have to say I like her shape too. She looks good.
Yay for body diversity! It's refreshing to see an Elphaba who isn't thin as a reed! Even though, if I want to play devil's advocate, that IS how Maguire described her in the novel, and I imagine being on the run from a Big Brother government probably doesn't exactly make it easy to get gourmet dinners, but still. The role of Elphaba should not be monopolized by skinny white girls.
I think this is her strongest!! If not, can someone link me the video of what is cause if there is something stronger than this is, I might just fall over!! Love her!
For the character portrayal of Elphaba, I would give it to Idina. For overall performance of Elphaba, I think Rachel Tucker is really good. And I'm also impressed by Willemijn, being able to perform in three different languages. I'm also glad for Jacqueline now that she manage to take on the lead role from being an understudy previously. Its a great leap!
idina menzel and Jacqueline hughes are probably my favorite
She's so freaking good.
saw her a couple years ago was perfect, a memory i will never lose.
She’s amazing right x
Such a beautiful voice ❤️
I SAW HER PERFORM IT LIVE IN SINGAPORE OMG!!! Her performance gave me goosebumps
Ticket is so damn ex but it's so worth it
I saw it too but it was a no fly show😭😭😭😭...

Watched her live in Manila and she's geeat!!!
Oh hey.. I'm a Singaporean and stumbled upon this..
I wished I was a kinda wicked fan then. Amazing performance!
FANTASTIC
Definitely one of top best performances

beautiful voice ever
I did a workshop with her this summer she is so lovely !!
Her facial expressions and her vocal dynamics are very...wicked 😍

jessica vosk, in my opinion, has the strongest voice out of all the elphabas.

Edward Gonzales Sorry but Stephanie J Block is first for me.............guess everyone just forgot about her
She way way better on stage. Believe me, I've seen her perform this scene on stage literally countless times :)
Slayyy girl
love her
i'm in love with her
i went to watch this musical and she stared as elphaba in the wicked tour it was amazing
Saw her for my 18th birthday at the Lowry she was standby for the matinee performances- she was very good. I
OMG YASSSSSSSS
Whoa. Amazing. :-D
I personally think she's the best Elphaba.
Denzel Aquino I think Willemijm Verkaik is better...
Idina menzel is the best in my opinion
She sung with my drama group yesterday at the Birmingham rep
She reminds me of Donna Vivino
holy shit
😍😍😍😍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
If you think she's amazing in this video, you should see her live. SHESSSSSSS WAY BETTER!
Did her mic go out on care?
Ethan Frank must've done :(
nicolas honsharuk it cut you can bear the sharp cut
I don't see a mic. How can she project her voice like that?
It's on the hat. And if i'm not wrong Elphaba also carries a mic on her bra
She has 2 mics, 1 in her hat at the front of it, and a 2nd in her hairline under her wig.
where's the Tanya Chua " game of fate , and the trio in the last song ?
This is just the bit that Jackie was on???? That's what It says in the title??!!??
I've seen her live, and she isn't at her best during this performance.
I'm thinking why she is defying gravity without riding on the broom.
I like her voice, but she sings a little too classic for my taste.
That second bring me down was a little faulty but over all 9/10.
Thanks for the review, Kevin :)
3:37 did the last note of that "me" riff go flat?
nope
in a way she looks like jenny dinoia
Her look reminds me more of Donna Vivino
Michael I. Haber Yep Donna vibes here. Both their portrayal of Elphaba leans towards the more human side of her.
I actually saw Donna go on for Willejmijn on Broadway!!!
@ 1:39 what you gotta do with all that fart
Needs more riffs
It's not all about riffs. That's only with Tucker...
big mamasita
She's inconsistent! Of all the girls who could slay this role....
lol.
Bad
She isn't good
you're right she isn't good....she's amazing!!!!
