The Magnatone super 59 mk 1 is a serious amp and yes they are expensive but once you look under the hood and check out how many tubes are used, then you can fully appreciate it - let alone hearing it. Anything in the whole Magnatone mk i series is killer
We had one of those magnatone twilghters but it had 4 6l6s it was a stereo and it had alnico speakers I think it was made late 1950s maybe early 60s Magnatone lived up to its name thats for sure.
back when i started playing, "starving musicians" was a well known phrase. Somehow, somewhere, that got lost and nowadays I feel like I'm the only one who doesn't have a boutique amp and $3 000 guitar along with a $2 000 pedalboard. I would so love a Magnatone, but I'd be lucky to be able to save up that kind of money in 3 years.
Yeh, I don't have a Matchless, that's for sure. I am blessed to have some old Fender amps; but those have been well earned across 58 years of playing, and losing an older brother, and working hard to pay what was a really high price for a 1964 Super Reverb ($325-discounted, down from $400) back in early 1964. I had to work a divey bar for several weekends for five hours a night for $10 a night, just to pay off the downpayment we charged. It has never been easy. But then, most of these builders are way too proud of their work.
Magnatones go back to the 40's, a lot of Accordion players used them, they made hearing aids as well. Oh, awesome insane pedal steel guitars with Hawaiian motifs
this is the earthy incarnation of the "novelty affect"- a new sound is a good sound until 2 weeks later when you realize you just paid a ridiculous amount for something you don't need and now hate yourself just that much more for being such a sucker.
I'm not from the US and don't know the background to this but I can't see any threats - from what I could see it looked like he made a single tweet where he said he thought trump would probably be assassinated. Is there more to it than that?
I have played then and they actually play like an older guitar. Hard to describe but they feel more like my 61 Gretsch in playability than any other guitar I own. The neck wear has the most to do with it. Very smooth and comfortable.
Yeah I have always hated the relic thing, ever since it first started. F****ng bullshit to charge extra for damaging an instrument. I bet you they save on the finishing on them just because they`ll ding it up later anyways.

Reality is that the price of a handwired amp went too high since the 70s, due industrial porpouses ands the market.

I like the peavey classic series! US made, all tube and cheap used! $300-400 cheap!
well done-those amps could inspire some new songwriting for sure!!
Had a 4x12 Mag in the mid 60's with a Harmony bass and felt uke pick...unique to say the least. Nice standup bass style thump.
Best amp on earth!
The "Stereo Twilighter" was amazing. Daddy like!
I'm not sure i'm ready to click to find out the price
Just checked. Hoooooly shit. O_o
WAY TOO MUCH FOR WHAT YOU GET........if you are good enough ....well....you are good........
Incredible!!
2:13 Heaven.
Billy gibbons!...you have my attention.

I have a word for the FM vibrato - lugubrious
ROCK ON
nice
freaking ear butter
I suppose talking about the product in a "review" was just not an option.
I don't know about the amp, but the CEO of this company sure is unhinged. Threatening the president? Wow,.
I'm not from the US and don't know the background to this but I can't see any threats - from what I could see it looked like he made a single tweet where he said he thought trump would probably be assassinated. Is there more to it than that?
test
And if such a single tweet were made with Merkel in the crosshairs, oh calamity and thunder.
It's really just plain ignorant to play the amp overdriven with the vibrato on.
*cough* link wray *cough* ......mug
Yeah! And go tell David Gilmour to not plug his wah in backwards!
Doing things differently is what makes things move forward.
"Get off my lawn!!!"
Haha, really? Ask MIke landau, you might change your mind....
Matchstick Man?
Jesus...that is one ugly guitar.
Very bad quality product. Overheats.
Which model had that problem?
Twilighter sounds painfully bright. Full on icepick.
Relic'd guitar? Fake, poser nonsense.

Buddy Carter Well if you can't earn the wear, you can buy it!
216trixie I've played one and I totally agree with you. For anyone "drooling" over one, you ain't missing much.

nice sounds!
