Just came across your video and had to watch it twice to figure out the logic of the tests and the conclusions. Fascinating! I don't have as many filters as you, only red /green /yellow but I need to recreate the experiment with my camera.

Good analysis. A Adams was fond of the green. I’ve been using a yellow/green for general photography on my M mono with good results. I don’t know if this is a more recent offering as there’s not a lot out there. Thanks

In photoshop or Cap one convert to black/white. Then adjust blues/ greens/ yellows separately. Just shoot raw only.

Interesting, thank you. About the lens Filters, when it's stated - 3 ev then this is probably just for the red channel, not the total exposure. So the total exposure reduction should be less than - 3 stops. Maybe 1/3 less?

In my video, the red filter reduced the amount of light by 3 f-stops. Same as a 3 f-stop neutral density filter. If shooting black and white film or monochrome sensor, the blues might be reduced to black say -5 stops and reds only reduced by -1 stop, so they appear white. So colour filters reduce the amount of light and only neutral density filters reduce the light evenly across the visible spectrum. Hope that helps.

Great video, very interesting! That the blue appears darker in-camera B&W without applied filter in the M 240 is no surprise to me - the blues are always very strong and contrasty with this sensor.

Thanks for your comments and your observations re your M240. What % of your photography is B&W? Is it increasing or decreasing in interest?

@@Adventure8 It is currently about 50% not including infrared photography (which I also convert into B&W). Interest is constant this way for many years. IG to see examples: @creative_lens_view
