The big fella with the deeper voice is Bas and the short one with a bit a rasp is Pete. They got into this through their grandchildren, who produce and perform drill too. Nine and Dex.

Nine and Dex aren't really related to them it's just part of the story.They are the ghost writers and possibly real voices.

@annahurst4334 Actually, they are! Nine and Dex are Pete & Bas grandchildren! I forget which is the grandson of which, but they are related! And they don't technically ghost write. It's more of a collaborative effort. Pete & Bas know what they wanna say. Nine and Dex help them with the modern slang and phrasing, but it's mostly those old men. Pete & Bas are also both ex-cons who actually were gangsters in the youth, but they've been on the straight and narrow for many years now!

All their bars have double or triple entendres and people either don’t know or seem to forget that they’re from East London where Cockney rhyming slang is from, basically it’s a separate language made from rhyming and flowing things together so it’s not surprising they can rhyme and have so many flows.
Plus their bars have age on them. For example, in Sindhu Sesh, Pete does an entire stanza on MLK and falling asleep to the sound of the Hoover which is a reference to MLK being assassinated by Hoover, head of the FBI. That’s why I think they write their own stuff because what younger writer is referencing such history? They’ve said before that they have their grandkids help with the current slang, but they write their own material. I really think that is the truth.

Bas aka Basil is the tall one . The entire group can rap . They are called the SNOOKER CLUB . Pete and Bas as a group go back about 7 years . Bas has been locked up and workked for one of the Crime Organizations in London off and on . Pete says his grand daughter was playing drill rap in the car everytime she picked him up and he liked it and thought I can do that. Their flow has grown but they do live shows and even if they don't fully write all their bars the flow and composition an delivery are extrodinary

Indeed! Pete & Bas + Ren fan here, only clicked for this one because these young men (of 73 and 76 respectively) are fire :) Most of their beats are done by their grandsons. They just released one 2 days ago called Action Man which is also wonderful. The short one is Pete, tall is Bas. They are part of a retiree group of rappers (the other men in this MV) but it's only those two that rap under their name. They have an album coming out on the 22nd of this month.

Pete and Bas and the Northern Boys have done live tours, and even rapped acapella when the power went out, so they are totally legit
Tpain just jumped in on a remix with them on a song called Tpain. Surprised you didn't know them they been pretty popular since 2017 I think. Pretty much every song is worth reacting to from them.

They got started a few years back after their grandkids turned them onto rap. 91 Shots (Nine) and Handsome Dexter (Dex) are two of their grandkids who make their beats and help them with modern slang. Pete and Bas largely do all their own writing though. Sindhu Sesh, Bish Bash Bosh, and Quick 1-2 are their most impressive tracks but honestly they just don't miss. Every track is a banger!
