I have an 87 k5, drove it today. 1 year ago it was my daily driver, for 8 or 9 years. Now it's gonna be my dedicated mud/woods truck now. Gotta hang on to 'em man. Keep k5s alive. ..... Getting more done on my 02 burban also. .. Great vid, keep 'em coming.

I have an ‘87 K5 Blazer with the 6.2 Diesel also. I call it my toy car. Good to see someone else who likes the old 6.2’s. Most folks swap them for an LS. I’d consider swapping a Duramax or Cummins once the 6.2 dies, but that may never happen. This thing just keeps going. Slowly, but it keeps going. 🤣

That's awesome Grady! The first vehicle I bought myself was a 74 GMC Jimmy. I loved that truck and kick myself for selling it when I went into the USAF. Don't tease me like that saying it's not for sale yet... I'd be very interested! I noticed the custom wire exhaust hanger. Thanks for sharing.

Love it! Love the sound of a 6.2! It will never compete with modern diesels but it is their 'Grandfather'.

Keep it! If you can, keep it. If anything it’ll be an investment for your kids. You couldn’t sell it and put money into any account that would gain value any more than holding onto it. These things are getting more valuable by the day. Especially any that are different (the 6.2 is getting even rarer…). I’ve got an ‘88 with 350tbi I’ve had since my parents got it 30 years ago when I was a pup of 7. Picked up a ‘79 early last year with a 350 that’s in rough shape but complete that’s a total project. Then I picked up an ‘85 M1009 with that 6.2 diesel. Still learning on the diesel stuff. It’s clean and was redone nicely. It got 18mpg while driving it pretty hard over some winding mountains to home when I bought it. Helped cushion the dirty looks from the missus lol. For your 6.2 I’d recommend a spin-on style fuel filter with a primer button. I put one on and big difference. Also it already had an external electric fuel pump and a manual glow plug override button. Those are great mods too. These old things can run on used frying oil for Pete’s sake. I’ll never get rid of the 88 for sentiments of course. But will probably never get rid of the other two either. Love your channel and content. I grew up on Blazers and Burbs. Once our family grew beyond just me and sisters and brother came along my family switched over to Burbs. ‘93 2wd, ‘93 3/4ton 4wd, ‘95 4wd, ‘97 4wd, and now my mom has a ‘04 AWD still. My father has a 05ish 2wd I believe. These GM full size SUVs are hard to beat. You can see why I enjoy your channel. Good Lord I was just gonna type keep it and post but got sidetracked in memories and NyQuil. Fighting the ole C-one-inner this week 🤒 and your videos are part of the R&R rotation for sure. Keep it up 👍🏼
