My Grandpa always said "A buggy built for 2 was a courting buggy. It was also great for newlyweds but it got traded in for a 2 seat buggy shortly into the marriage." Happy New Year.
Given enought time warching Dave you can learn basic carpentry, finish carpentry, wheelwrighting, blacksmithing, welding, and painting when he is in the shop. But you can't forget metalworking, farming, and other trades. Dave keep up the great teaching you are doing. May 2025 be a successful year gor you and Dianne
It's amazing how you can get your head around all those cuts and angles, looked well good and now kerf or slack joints. Nicely done. Thanks for posting....
I love the combination of those fasteners...some are modern with a better long tern secure while the others are external and visible that have the period look. Makes for a better build overall. Making up the plans and precutting the wood looks so easy compared to a one only build, measure (twice) cut and fit. This is how any shop should work, experienced, talent, knowhow and motivation. Nothing less unless you are supervised ! Lots of shops out there just don't see it that way. Thank you EngelsCoachShop.
I am continually amazed at your craftsmanship as well as the skill of the men who created these buggy's in the first place. Reminds me of my father who was a great craftsmen himself.
Nice combination of wood and metal everything in balance and every added component lending strength to those that went on before. Built for a lifetime of work. Great skills.😊
Dave! ......I see you've misplaced my vest somewhere! ......I truly love watching you work on these pieces of art ! All those compound joints and cuts made my mind hurt.....love your show....and wish you and your family a Happy New Year !
You have inspired me . I spent the last of this years daylight working out how to make a fifth wheel from some old truck rear brake discs. 23 years ago I built a very rough rolling scaffold/ siege tower to paint my grandfathers home for my wedding . It is made of 4x4s ,pipe axles and scrap plywood wheels. After watching many of your video , i decided that i could make my tower steer and be towed. It has a bunch of jobs to do next year. So thanks for the inspiration and happy new year!
Happy Newyear to you and Dianne, Dave! Have lots of fun with video-editing (the animations where cool), the museum/store and all other things in your life
Happy, healthy, prosperous, blessed and wonderful New Year full of joy. Dave and Diane. Greetings from NE Rural Ohio. Stay well be safe, cheers my friends. Looking forward to 2025 to see what you have in store for us
I cant imagine how all these precision cuts and fits could be done with 18th century hand tools. Maybe you could add how our predecessors did this stuff.
Hi Dave, and Diane, there is so much notching on this wagon bed, but it's strong, and beautiful. You make it look simple even with its complexity. I know too well how one bad measurement can mess up the whole thing. Great job! I wish you, and Diane a very happy New Year. I'm looking forward to the next year of projects. 🥳
"In an effort to save our customers' money, here at Engels Coach Shop we use self-clocking screws whenever possible, to reduce labor charges." Happy New Year to Dave, Diane and Engels followers worldwide!
WOW! Not only do you have to put this puzzle together, but you also have to make the parts of the puzzle. Great build. It's a shame that you were low on your automatic screws and brads. I can't find those in any of our hardware stores in Alabama so I have to drive them all by hand.
Wow ive been watching your channel since day one and your skill just amazes me i wish there was somebody like you near where i live so i could sit and watch but unfortunately there isn't keep the good work coming my friend happy new year to you and your family from me and my family across the pond in England 🎉🎉
Dave, I think you could be one of those Japanese wood workers with those cuts you made. I had a container of those self screwing screws, I left the lid off of them, they’re all gone! Have a Happy New Year!
Love the new stop start camera work takes a bit more time but effective.
Love the self screwing screws and self nailing nails...👍
You are hard pushed to find slotted head screws now let alone self driving ones😂
My screws make periodic breaks for freedom on the floor. 😀
Where can I order some of those? 😂
My Grandpa always said "A buggy built for 2 was a courting buggy. It was also great for newlyweds but it got traded in for a 2 seat buggy shortly into the marriage." Happy New Year.
When Dave calls it quits .I would love to see that Table saw in a museum somewhere .
Or in my workshop
What amazes me is that they built them originally without any power tools, all was done with hand tools. Imagine how long it took.
You are getting pretty fancy with the animated screw driving. Nice touch !
Not just putting together a puzzle but making the pieces to build a puzzle. Amazing
*- Agreed ! ! !*

The precise and intricate joinery in that buggy is a work of art, and it was a joy to watch you making all of those cuts.
It's inspiring to watch a Master Craftsman work!

glad this place is here. One of the best vids, that wagon would last forever if not abused.
Impressed by all the buggy hardware. Especially the tail gate latches , never saw anything like those. Really nice work.
It's amazing how you can get your head around all those cuts and angles, looked well good and now kerf or slack joints. Nicely done. Thanks for posting....

I like the tool-less effect for some screws and nails. Not always, but the few times you used the effect was great!
