Hey, if you can't make this anymore, I totally understand. I just want to thank you for making great queer content. I will definitely miss this, as much as I miss the podcast. Thanks for being so open and relatable. I can't wait to see what you do next. :)
I agree with Leena, I also live in a somewhat small lesbian community and this was the closest thing I had to watching gay content with some fun gal pals. Sadly, it will be missed
Too bad you don't do Spanish tv series. There is an Argentine one, this girl is BIPOLAR, ok, so she sees a Psychiatrist but it is the funniest program ever. Then there is one that became really iconic Pepa and Silvia? from Spain.
i prefer the book to the movie just because the movie stars halfway through the book. the book also goes so much more in depth with cameron’s internal dialogue and her feelings. i highly recommend it. some of the best lgbt literature i’ve ever read.
Oli Arts I agree but that's pretty much will always happen, Movies will only get to a certain point when adapting from a book. What I did enjoy was the ending from the movie it ended a little more optimistic. Don't get me wrong I love the ending from the book but it was a cool ending in the movie having a positive end. A little change from the tragic endings of recent LGBT movies.
I thought the same thing, i watched the movie and was just asking where the rest of it was, not to say that the movie wasnt great, but that book was brilliant
Oh no, I didn't know DLW was over! Thanks so much for everything you guys have done. I loved watching your videos and learning more about all the cool movies/media I didn't know about because we stan representation :)

Yes, the book is so good! I feel the same way. I like the movie but it just leaves SO much out. They only had like 3 days to film it though so I get why they approached it the way they did. But the book is great 👌🏼
Yeah I agree that if they actually followed the whole book the movie would be too long. But I suggest everyone who liked the move that they read the book to found out more about Cameron and her life before camp.
If this really is the last one all I can say is thank you, Amanda. You created a safe space for me to celebrate my queerness privately until I was ready to do it publically. This series showed me I wasn't alone in my struggles and there is a whole community waiting to welcome me. You have a fan for life and I can't wait for what is in store for the future of this channel.
I called the director of the camp Meryl Streep's little sister in my head. The fact that there's no actual love interest is one of my favourite thing about this movie.
I saw this film for the first time the other day, this and genuinely teared up. As a young lesbian, it meant a lot to me. 'Maybe you're supposed to feel disgusted with yourself when you're a teenager.' hit hard. I'd say Ricks character got me most hurt.
in the past year, I’ve realized that I’ve been closeted in a whole lotta ways (including my sexuality, but also things like my interests). for a long time, I’ve cared about showing everyone a certain image of myself at the expense of letting people know me, and living authentically. thanks for this whole series, and thanks for your funny and thoughtful commentary. honestly, it’s made me feel a lot more hopeful that it’s all gonna be ok, so thank you
"The queers just find eachother" Yeah, pretty much. I met a (trans) guy about one year ago, he introduced me to his friends and boom - queer friends! Without a doubt the best friends ever. Love you guys.
A random person I'd met in a park with some other friends invited me to a gay movie night right when I was starting to come out and it was like "YES I'M IN." (and now we're dating haha)
I can really relate to Brittany's situation of being afraid to come out despite her family being supportive. Im not out yet, but I plan to this year, startin with a friend and movin up to pop and mom. And I know my mom would fully stand for it as she once confronted my grandma (who was really a great person and i dont blame her for it) on the matter that my grandma did support the gays but would be sad if one of her own kids turned out to be gay, my mom said that she surely wouldnt mind if I or my brother would be. Shes also been very open to all the possibilities of me dating either a guy or a girl sayin things like "if you ever get a boyfriend, or girlfriend..." and so on. My dad even said a similar thing once with some hesitation so idk if ma is behind that. Anyway I know my parents will be supportive, and even believe theres a possibility that they already have the idea that I might be a dumb ol lesbian. But still there's this slight feeling of dread that they might react the same way as my grandma, as in being 'dissapointed' or 'let down' if you wanna call it that. In three weeks ill be going to a Hayley Kiyoko concert and I have told my mom her name, but not the full "context" of it all. She was having doubts about me going cuz i initially had to travel alone and its pretty far and she wanted me to be safe, which i understand. But that matter is resolved. Im planning on using that concert as a stepstone to my full coming out statement when i plan to have it. Kinda like "hey mom remember that one concert i reeeeaaaaaly wanted to go to? well heres the reason why it was so important to me.." In conclusion o boi big thanks to this series! as a lesbian studying film this opened up so many possibilities for queer movies to drop in class! Also big thanks for getting me comfy around my sexuality and all that, your channel really helped
I want to like this comment more than once. Thank you for sharing your story! Also, good luck with coming out. I've been in a similar situation. I came out a year and a half ago and my parents were very supportive but I was still scared and insecure, even to this day. I hope you will feel very loved by your friends and family. I don't know what else to say, have a nice day.
I had the same situation. I was very certain my parents would be fine with it but still scared. I think you always kind of are because...they're your parents after all, it's such a direct connection that you feel like you might lose. When I came out to my mom, I couldn't tell her. I just couldn't say the words. But she asked me questions with my consent, steering into that direction and at some point it was just out there. And she said she would have been stunned if I had been anything BUT queer lol and yet it took her some time to really come to terms with it. However not because she was not okay with me being gay but because she was scared of what It could mean for me and and that it might make my life harder. Nowadays she says in the first few months she looked at girls my age in another way too. Always wondering if I'd like them, if they could be gay too (my mom developing a gaydar lol) and just suddenly seeing so many gay women (maybe like the pregnancy phenomena to-be-mothers experience). But nowadays it's just totally normal. Like it's very clear that I'll probably bring home a girl one day and that I go to prides and this and that. Its just no big deal anymore at all, it's just what it is. Long story short, take your time to come out, no one is rushing you. Just do it whenever it feels right and if it doesn't after the concert, then it doesn't. Be patient and give yourself some time, there will arrive a situation where it just feels right and comes out eventually. I'm crossing my fingers for you, hun :3
imagine having all-homophobic traditional and very hypocritical family who will (figuratively) bury you if you're gay also living in homophobic country yay....
You HAVE to read the book! The movie leaves out SO MUCH. Theres a lot more relationship stuff and back story for everyone in the book. If you at all liked the movie you definitely need to check out the book! 👌🏼
Hello! I recommend reading the book! There's so much that happens before she is sent to the camp, the movie is just the second half. Cameron has several love interest and you understand so much more of her character. I listened to it with Audible and it was really good!
I've recently catched up with all the drunk lesbians watch videos and am therefore really sad that there are no new ones coming to look forward to. But I want to let you know that I have enjoyed every second of this series. Thank you so much for creating this sort of content. By which I mean gay. Of course.
FINALLLLLYYYYYYYYY I just watched the film a few weeks ago and I am SO EXCITED!!!!!!I hope yall decide to release deleted scenes cuz there were sooo many scenes I wish I could see y'all comment on!!! p.s. It's Desert Hearts they're watching in the film an old classic lesbian movie lol.
I loveeeee Brittany tbh and really loved the content brought up about platonic intimacy. Like weirdly been thinking about that a lot lately so having someone else mention it was a relief. Loved this episode ahhhh
I did the same thing that Brittany did with the posters lol. Definitely had a bunch of magazine cut outs of hunky dudes and when I finally came out, my dad randomly walked in one day and was like “...sooo...can we finally take these down now?” 😂❤️
I can't wait to see what else this channel has in store tbh. Seeing real-time, older queer women discuss the many aspects of their sexuality (mostly, so far through commentary) has REALLY helped me out, feel more comfortable & validated. It'll be sad to see DLW go, but now I have a decently long "to watch" list & anticipation for what's next!
Platonic cuddling is definitely still a thing. My ex-best friend and I (we are both girls, shes straight and I'm gay) would cuddle all of the time and pet each others hair. I've talked about platonic cuddling before and people never knew what I mean by it so it is rare but I know from experience it still happens.
Hi amanda! First of all thank you so much for all the DLW videos, you and your guests are amazing :D about the scene on 6:26, it wasn't a dream, it was actually a memory. The book is very interesting because the first half is all about Cameron finding out more about her sexuality since she was 12, it talks about how her parents died, how her very conservative aunt became her guardian and forced her into having a very religious routine but most of all the first half shows how Cameron fell deeply in love with Coley, who is the girl you see her making out with in the beginning of the movie. The movie however focuses on everything that happens at God's Promise and thats why people may be s little lost about Cameron's past but it is a very good queer movie nonetheless. Thanks again for all the content and much love from Brazil! Ps: I highly recommend that you read the book, it gives a lot of insight!
Sad that this is the last DLW, I've really enjoyed them all and they've cheered me up through some dark times. Thank you so much. Can't wait to see what else you have in store.
THIS IS MY *FAVORITE* RUclips SERIES!!!!!! You can’t stop now!!!... 😩😩😩 Legit what I go to if I’ve had a bad day, or just wanna laugh. Also, Buffy is the best thing ever, it’s a shame you felt shame for that ❤️
Brittany, thank you so much for talking about how even though you had family that loved you and friends that accepted you it was still hard to put that level of permanence on yourself. I had/have the same experience and I think it's such an important thing to talk about.
I wish you guys to do the lesbian watch againn🥺🥺 I'd like to see your reaction on Portrait of a lady on fire. This movie is so gooood, best film ive ever watched.
AMANDAAAAAAAA NOOOOOOOO! Can’t believe you aren’t doing this anymore. I love you and your podcast that you do. I’ve been missing that too. But can’t wait to see what you will do next! Keep up the great work. Love you loads. 😘
OMG, just now started watching Drunk Lesbians Watch on RUclips, & now in reading all the comments, finding out, that, this is your finale!!! I am so saddened!! 😥 Guess I will have to try to catch up on , as many videos I can find!!! Hope you decide to come back, really enjoyed your videos!! 💕
I feel so connected to this channel in so many ways... that’s where I recharge my batteries when I’m blue. I feel grateful for all the time you spent with us 🥰 And I’m hoping the channel will be even bigger
OMG!!! MY DREAMS CAME TRUE! that movie is awesome and I'm so damn happy Brittany Ashley is back!!!☺ But I can't handle the fact that this is the end of dlw...
I have a few requests. Could you watch "Chasing Amy" from Kevin Smith? That movie awakened me. And "Foxfire" (1996) with Angelina Jolie? She had a IRL relationship with one of the actresses she was onscreen with in the movie.
the movie was only an hour and a half long because it only covered 1/3 of the book. i absolutely loved the movie but i wish it went into the depth of character and story that the book did, it honestly changed my life when i was a teenager and reading it. so sad to see this show go! i hope you do a show that is exactly the same except rebranded or something, don't end it!
I'm excited to see what the future holds! While I am sad to be seeing DLW come to a close, I know that more good things will be coming. :) As a queer woman, this channel is very important to me and I greatly appreciate all that you do. Good luck on all your future projects!
Buffy is amazing! I’m so happy she decided not to be closeted about buffy. You should read the new comics buffy has a relationship with cordelia and there is a new willow run that’s pretty amazing.
Ironically I just watched The Miseducation Of Cameron Post last Saturday. It does take place in the 1990s btw. If y'all like to read you should read the book instead of watching the movie. Also I didn't like the movie nearly as much as the book because certain parts seemed confusing to me. *warning spoilers for the book* Book To Movie Differences: 1. They say nothing about Irene or the girl who moves to Alaska whose first name starts with L *i cant remember her first name* or other girls that kinda helped her with her sexuality. I kinda wish they showed the abandoned hospital but I understand if they didn't have the budget for it. Also Jamie and Cameron's relationship in the movie is just like 5 seconds compared to the book. Jamie actually does find out before her aunt but he keeps it a secret because of his close friendship with her. They do kiss at the dance in the book. I also wish there was more to the bible study group which is where Coley and her met. The parents died in a car accident near Quake Lake which is where they are heading to at the end of the book (they do get to quake lake). Irene and her actually kissed when they were 9. (a small peck). The movie they were watching was a vampire movie with a certain type of scene in it. I could probably go on but at least this book to movie adaptation isnt as bad as another book to movie adaptation *cough Percy Jackson cough*
The movie (on TV) that Cameron and her high-school friend were watching on the bed was "Desert Hearts" (1986), arguably the first feature film focused on a lesbian love story to play in mainstream theatres. I'm surprised you didn't recognize it.
FULL UPDATE ON THE CHANNEL COMING THIS WEDNESDAY!

Nah, only a series could have followed her from childhood to camp. They made the right decision for the medium they used.

Me: ooh I haven't watched Drunk Lesbians Watch in a while
Amanda: today is the finale
Me: 😯😦😟
Aye! I’m not the only one who knows who Kerry Butler is! She was an amazing Elphaba in Wicked too, btw. 😍💚🙌🏻
and Mean Girls the musical! She played all the adult women and she was fantastic!
Please make a Season 2 of this!!!!
Sad that this is the last DLW, I've really enjoyed them all and they've cheered me up through some dark times.
Thank you so much. Can't wait to see what else you have in store.
Noooo, this was the best thing ever😭😭
THIS IS MY *FAVORITE* RUclips SERIES!!!!!! You can’t stop now!!!... 😩😩😩
Legit what I go to if I’ve had a bad day, or just wanna laugh.
Also, Buffy is the best thing ever, it’s a shame you felt shame for that ❤️
it is a common thing lol before i realized i was a lesbian i "dated" (i.e we held hands for a week) three dudes and later they all came out as bi
Brittany, thank you so much for talking about how even though you had family that loved you and friends that accepted you it was still hard to put that level of permanence on yourself. I had/have the same experience and I think it's such an important thing to talk about.
Yall, Imma cry, I love this show, omllllll
Rip DLW. Thank you so much for making this series. It will be so very missed
I wish you guys to do the lesbian watch againn🥺🥺 I'd like to see your reaction on Portrait of a lady on fire. This movie is so gooood, best film ive ever watched.
I can almost quote this word for word because of the amount of times I’ve watched this 🥲💕
i reaaaally enjoyed this film & your reactions to it!!! but i'm so sad to see the end of DLW! literally one of my favourite series' on youtube 💔💔💔💔
AMANDAAAAAAAA NOOOOOOOO! Can’t believe you aren’t doing this anymore. I love you and your podcast that you do. I’ve been missing that too. But can’t wait to see what you will do next! Keep up the great work. Love you loads. 😘
One of the best movies with a lesbian lead and definitely the best I've seen about this theme.
why did you skip the whole part where they get caught in the beginning and she gets sent to the place?
Copyright reasons. They can't play all of the movie, and only must show snippets, to avoid their videos from being taken down
Here since the first one. Really sad if this is the last one but thank you for all the content you've given us!
nooooooo!!!! i wanted to see a reaction to the favourite
I feel so connected to this channel in so many ways... that’s where I recharge my batteries when I’m blue. I feel grateful for all the time you spent with us 🥰 And I’m hoping the channel will be even bigger
OMG!!!
MY DREAMS CAME TRUE!
that movie is awesome and I'm so damn happy Brittany Ashley is back!!!☺
But I can't handle the fact that this is the end of dlw...
i’m watching this in this with my gross movie and right as they made out the car blasts “may we call on jesus!” 😂
I have a few requests. Could you watch "Chasing Amy" from Kevin Smith? That movie awakened me. And "Foxfire" (1996) with Angelina Jolie? She had a IRL relationship with one of the actresses she was onscreen with in the movie.
I’ve been waiting FOREVER for them to do this one. This film is absolutely amazing
the movie was only an hour and a half long because it only covered 1/3 of the book. i absolutely loved the movie but i wish it went into the depth of character and story that the book did, it honestly changed my life when i was a teenager and reading it. so sad to see this show go! i hope you do a show that is exactly the same except rebranded or something, don't end it!
So glad u chose this movie! Been debating whether or not to watch it!
Nooooo this series can’t end :(((
I love every time you have changed the name for the title of the movie. Gosh, it's always perfect, haha! Make more?
I need a shirt that says ‘She bottoms for GOD’
I came out smack dab in the middle of DLW and I honestly got you just when I needed you guys. Thanks for everything.
PORTRAIT OF A LADY OF FIRE!! COME BACK IT'S IMPORTANT!!
The end of a grate series. This was better than honest trailers.
I waited sooo long for this but it was worth it 🔥♥
Omg I can't belive this is the end. Love DLW, cheers from Brazil!
I love DLW so much and I’m sad to see the show end but I can’t wait to see what y’all create next🙏🏼
But who will we watch the L word reboot pilot with?!
Their talks help me a lot honestly
WELL ITS ABOUT GOSH DARN TIME
The movie (on TV) that Cameron and her high-school friend were watching on the bed was "Desert Hearts" (1986), arguably the first feature film focused on a lesbian love story to play in mainstream theatres. I'm surprised you didn't recognize it.
