Gern - Great to hear from you . Haven't seen you since we were at Rucker the last time at Twiggy's in the HiRise. I completely agree - this test is completely unrealistic. The rocket pods are stationary, bolted to a trailer that is anchored to the ground, and a ground-based fire control circuit is providing firing voltage and warhead timing. In addition, the environmental conditions seemed really unrealistic: calm winds and good visibility. I think this is why there is such an unacceptable dispersion in those rocket shots. Had we been able to have you fly the test in an AH-64 or, better yet, an AH-1E or F, I am sure the rocket dispersion would not have been perceptible. Thanks for seeing this test for what it is: a complete waste of time.
