We are grateful to see this video! We were going to go to Sullivan's today- but without the ability to have a public restroom, we're headed back to island of palms
Having lived in the area for 4 years, Folly Beach has the best party scene. Sullivan's has excellent dining and IOP is somewhere in between but with excellent beach access and abundant parking.
I love Sullivan's Island, its one of my favorite places in the entire world! Thank you for this video. I love SC hoping to come back soon or buy a vaca home there soon.
That's awesome, and it's easy to see why! It's beautiful there. Thank you for watching and I hope you're able to come back soon too! And I'm happy to help if you do end up buying a vaca home :)
Thanks for this video! My oldest just moved to the Greenville so will be visiting the area a lot in the coming years! We love the ocean and your video offers another look at some of the beaches! We booked a place in Isles of Palms!!! Can't wait! I will look for more of your videos of the area!!! You two do a great job!!! Thanks again, and love from freezing Iowa!!!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! That is exciting :) I hope you have a great trip here when you visit, and thank you so much for your sweet comment! Sending you love and warm weather from Charleston!
Awesome video! :) Which beach has the most accessible parking? When I visited (very briefly) it seemed like Folly had the most options with the county park and offshoot meter areas. Mount Pleasant area seemed to cater more towards the residents.
Thank you so much! I have also found Folly to have the most accessible parking, but Isle of Palms has added more spots along the other side of the street on Palm Blvd so both sides of the street have parking now. There's also a large (paid) parking lot on Isle of Palms. But I've found that I never have to pay for parking at Folly by parking off street in the non-metered areas!
@@brianmccauley339 Yes for sure! I love visiting Folly. And I'm glad to hear her surgery went well. Safe travels, and I'd be happy to see how I can help you when you get here.
Excellent video! We were going to Sullivan beach until you pointed out that we would need a permit to take our dog to the beach. We will be going to Folly Beach?!
These questions might sound silly lol but we are new to SC. Can you, typically, rent umbrellas, chairs, etc on the beaches or should you bring your own? Which beach do you think is best for newbies (we have a teenager)? Thanks for any help. Your video is great! Hugs!
Not a silly question and welcome to SC! Yes you can definitely rent umbrellas and chairs. My teenage brother actually works at the Isle of Palms Beach Chair Company, and I know there’s one on Folly too. But you can also bring your own too, so it’s up to your personal preferences. And they are all great beaches. If you’re looking for more things to do (beach shops, ice cream, restaurants, etc) then I’d recommend Folly or Isle of Palms! And thank you so much, I’m glad you enjoyed my video! I hope that helps :)
The ocean temperature is around 60 degrees Fahrenheit in the winter (February being the coldest with an average of 58.6 degrees F), and in the 70s-80s in the summer (August being the warmest with an average of 83.5 degrees F) according to seatemperature.org! Hope that helps :)
Hi! Unfortunately, Charleston isn’t the best place for snorkeling as visibility is quite low due to the silt in the water. There are some artificial reefs offshore where the visibility is better, but those are a bit far from the mainland. You can swim near the beaches, and the intracoastal waterways are more calm but I’d be careful of all the boats. I see that you’re a mermaid, so maybe the SC Aquarium would be a good spot to swim, in one of their big tanks!
@@KatarinaWestRE Are there any inlets that people go swimming in, that are near by? You also mentioned 2 other beaches that are 1hr away. Are they 1hr away going north or south on the coastline and are their waters calm with better visibility?
@@MermaidSyrena Not that I know of. There are some inlets but a few have dangerous rip currents so definitely no swimming there. And those beaches (Kiawah and Edisto) are further south. I think they are slightly more calm with perhaps some better visibility, but still far from clear. The South Carolina coastline unfortunately just doesn't have clear water. (If I could change one thing about Charleston, that would be it!)
@@KatarinaWestRE Oh my bubbles! I appreciate your local living feedback! I was soooo hoping for clear, beautiful, calm ,swimmable and snorkeling waters but at least, I know before I go.
@@MermaidSyrena I know, it's a bummer! No problem and sorry to disappoint. There is plenty else to love about Charleston though and I hope you have a great time regardless! :)
We are grateful to see this video! We were going to go to Sullivan's today- but without the ability to have a public restroom, we're headed back to island of palms
I'm glad it helped! Both beaches are beautiful, but the public restroom is definitely a plus for IOP!

I lived in Columbia, SC, for 5 years,, and I regularly visited the Charleston area with my wife hunting for food, craft beer,... and the beach.
That sounds like a blast!

What are a few good breakfast and lunch places near Folly Beach?
Great question! A few popular ones are Lost Dog Cafe, Rita’s Seaside Grille, and Taco Boy! There are a bunch of options so can’t go wrong!
How is the ocean temperature throughout the year?? Thanks!

thinking of visiting in July! Is it super hott?
Awesome! Yes it will be pretty hot. The beaches will be more bearable since you can cool off in the water, but walking around downtown will be toasty!
It’s still warm in the month of December?
Yes! Today it was in the 70’s 😎 but usually it’s around the 60’s in the day and in the 40’s at night in December
very nice video,
Thank you so much!
Is it because of corona or is it always this poorly crowded,oh and i enjoyed this presentation it was fun watching you 😄
This was in the middle of the week so I think that's why, but maybe still because of corona! And thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)

Charleston beaches need a real boardwalk area.. something like what you'll find along the Jersey Shore....
I agree! The pier at Folly is closest but still nothing like that
Wow the first one of you to pop up looks a lot like Jill Duggar
* googles Jill Duggar lol * thanks!
Nice twins
Aw thanks :)
Folley beach made me feel poor...and it actually made me more poor
