i’m going to be a freshman at UT in fall 2022, this was super helpful for my dorm search process! your room is so cozy and well-organized, love to see a fellow ARMY thriving 😙💜
sorry to be so offtopic but does someone know of a tool to log back into an instagram account? I somehow forgot my login password. I would love any help you can offer me
@Brysen Elian Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site on google and Im in the hacking process now. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
I’m committed to UT for fall 2023 so this was really helpful to see! Plus, I’m an army too and was planning on bringing my BTS posters to decorate my dorm!! :)
I don't remember these dorm being this tiny. Squirrels used to wait at the front door and beg for food and it would follow you if you fail to give them your snack.
@@AbbyMendez Definitely! I’m going to be a freshman at UT this fall and most likely be living in jester. So we might run into each other and talk about BTS together lol😄
@@catc.15 OMG that's so cool! I'm currently a journalism major but i'm switching to public relations! I hope you have a great summer orientation experience and fall semester! Feel free to reach out to me if you have questions or just want to chat! Here's my instagram: abbymmendez
I currently live in jester west and I hate it! its so "prisony"! However, I think if I had decorated as much as you I would like it more. This is fabulous!
Thank you! and yes i know exactly what you mean! i knew i was gonna spending a lot of my time in my room bc of covid year so i made sure to make it feel as cute and homey as i could!
Thank you so much, i’m so happy hear! I haven’t had any problems really, they’re always clean and it’s nice not having to deal with keeping up with your own bathroom like suite style rooms have to. The only downside is just the inconvenience of having to get shoes and a mask on to leave you room to go, but there’s always a bathroom just a few doors down so it’s that much of an inconvenience.
Aww thank you!! I'm so happy you enjoyed it! Yeah East and West are basically the same. The rooms look basically identical, there is no big difference between the two. I am biased and think West is better because it is connected to the main Jester center where the dining hall is and East you have to walk outside for like 30 seconds to get to the Jester Center, so it's definitely not a big deal, both are really great places!
Thank you so much! wow that’s so nice to hear i’m glad you liked the video! and yes good idea. honestly i feel like jester east and west are the best dorms for freshman because it’s easy to find a community in such a large populated dorm. thanks for the suggestion
Hey! Amazing video! Do you know if all of the floors on Jester West have been renovated? And if you don’t mind me asking, which floor did you get assigned/choose?
Hi! Thank you so much! I am not sure if every floor in Jester West have been renovated, I believe it might just be the lower floors, but I am not positive about that, sorry. And yes I chose to be on the 3rd floor in West. Yes the washers and dryers on each floor are free to use.
Thank you for making this, its super helpful! One question. Did you bring everything you used to make the room nicer, or did you buy it as the year went along? Im wondering whether I should bring decorations/furniture right away or figure that out with my roommates later on.
Omg hi ARMY!! I have honestly had a fantastic experience at UT. I really really love it here! The campus is great, I really love the people here i've met, and the academics and the professors I've had have been super good. I would definitely recommend accepting your offer if you have an interest in UT!
Hey! I loved the video, it was super informative and you have a great space! Im an incoming male freshman and Im not sure whether to stay in Jester West or East. I have heard Jester West is more social (which is nice), has connected food, and is the bigger dorm whereas Jester East is quieter, further from food, however doesn't have the hot water problems and long elevator wait times that jester West has in the upper floors. Could you tell me more about the differences between West and East and which one you would recommend?
Hey! Thank you so much! I honestly would recommend either of them! I wouldn't stress either way. Both West and East are very similar. Besides the differences you listed about East being slightly further from food that's really the only difference and it's not much of an issue. There are very few differences between the two. Both of them are about equally social, I think it's most likely just rumors about west being more social but it really depends on the people who stay there that year. Whichever you choose you will have a good experience in the dorms either way! Hope this helps, let me know if you have more questions.
Great idea! I'll definitely look into making this video in the future. To be honest I didn't expect to get into UT at all, I had a lot lower stats than I thought I needed to get in, so it would be an interesting video. Thanks for suggesting this!
Thanks so much for the video! Are the mattresses uncomfortable, and did you buy a mattress topper? My son’s coming in the fall and we’re coming from Illinois. We’re trying to get all the big things figured out. Thanks again!
I was on the 3rd floor. It was perfect for me because at least i had somewhat of a view and it’s easy-ish to go up and down 3 flights, i’d say floors 2-5 would be best so that the stairs would be bearable because sometimes the elevators can take a really long time if you’re on high up floors.
The move in process was pretty hectic so being as prepared as possible is the best way to go into it! Same advice for application be as prepared as you can be!
The Jester single room with community bath is $15,657. Theres more information on all the prices for different rooms at the University Housing and Dining website!
