Very cool hingeback tortoise! It looks like it could be an older Kinixys lobatsiana. What location did you find him? They have a very limited range in South Africa.

Galapagos Tortoises eat birds . Any tortoise will eat fresh meat if they can catch it but they never can bless them . I miss my South African so much !!!!
