Thanks for covering The Landing at Beadnell Bay. I just wanted to clear up some information that I think may be misleading here. You point out that you are "At The Landing" and that "you found out you could stay overnight" - You absolutely can, on the hardcore adjacent and behind The Landing, however where you pointed to your motorhome is actually operated by Northumberland County Council. We allow motorhomes to stay in our carpark for £20 per night and you also get a 10% off voucher to use in The Landing on your total food bill. I just wanted to clear that up in case anyone watching this thought where you were parked, was associated with The Landing, when its not. Happy Travelling - Wayne

Hi you quote £53 for non member price as been inflated, however the caravan and motorhome club do exactly the same for non members and are similarly priced as well as being more expensive to join and have a lot more rules stating what you can't do, so slightly misleading, haven't watched the whole video at point of comment just thought I would make it whilst I could remember, the point I am making is both similar and both overpriced since COVID

@@fozzyfoster1652 yes, that’s getting ridiculous but I’m sorry to says it’s becoming more and common for sites to charge 30 to 50 pounds. We’re CAMC members and go out of our way to find CLs at £10 or less. It’s possible but it’s getting harder and harder. It’s no wonder that Motorhome and campervan owners are turning to wild camping and the issues that can cause.😎

I said the same last night, councils all around the coast including Wirral peninsula where we live, totally anti motorhome and tourism, sites are rip off prices, one great thing on the rise more and more is pub stops, we just started our two week coast to coast trip with a pub stop Meal and drinks £48 and a quiet night's sleep, nearly the cost of some sites, and while I'm moaning some are £3 per night for our little Ted, he can't go in the showers and isn't even allowed in the camp shop.

Depends where you go we’ve just had 3 nights at Playa Joyel best site in the North of Spain in my opinion and paid €189 £52 per night. It’s right on a beech, has 1000 pitches, 3 swimming pools, bar/cafeteria and walking distance to many bars and restaurants. We’ve been going there for the last 17 years after leaving our caravan there 16 years ago.

Its ok paying €13 a night but it cost you £800 in fuel to get there and back plus insurance and ferry charges. Last year the cost of sites in Spain had increased for the nice sites. You can certainly find sites for less than £50 a night. We have just paid £10 a night on a farm site with no EHU and £22 for a site overlooking Chichester Harbour.

Thanks. I camped at C&CC Beadnell in the late 80s when I backpacked up the Northumberland Coast. I’ve twice been a member of the Club since: when I owned a camper van in 2011 and subsequently camping again. I’m in my late 70s, so qualify for an over 60 discount. The Club also offers other discounts to members so you would have paid less than £53 as a member. You also receive a monthly magazine and, every other year, a site guide book and map. And yes: the C&CC is also called the ‘friendly club’ and my experience over many recent years confirms this. So before viewers complain about rip-off Britain etc, remember that the makers of this film were not members when they arrived at Beadnell. I’m not at member of the Motorhome and Caravan Club and was recently quoted £28 to stay one night at a site in the Scottish Borders with a small backpacking tent. High(er) charges work both ways for non-members of these clubs.

I was a member of the Camping & Caravan Club back in the 1970's when it was just the Camping Club. In those days most people camped under canvas, no electric hook ups etc, not even ice packs. The Caravan Club as it was only ever allowed Caravan's on their sites and back then there was a bit of snobbery about caravan's, and campervans were the preserve of the surfers etc, motorhomes didn't exist. Over the years the Camping Club evolved into what it is now, and we as a family were members on and off for many years, as campers, but found they became more and more interested in caravans at the expense of traditional campers and we found we getting shoved away in far flung corners of sites away from the toilet blocks and other facilities. They also got very expensive and yet we were seeing nothing for the extra money, toilet bocks not being updated etc. The site we used the most for around 10 years never had an update yet it was classed as a top site, yet a flagship site in the midlands was upgraded twice in that time. In the end we found private sites to be overall better, heated new shower and toilet blocks, pools, shops etc so we ditched the club altogether in the end. As for the Caravan Club, never used it, so in general can't comment, but from what you say here it seems they haven't changed much. We'll be getting a campervan next year after a break in camping of several years, looking forward to it, but I don't think I'll be paying out that sort of money to join a club again.

Wow first time watching one of your vlogs, and what a site to be introduced too. A proper little hidden gem that little fishing town. One for my Southern legs ooppss leg (I lost one in the Military) to explore. I agree £54 is a ridicules amount of money to have to pay. UK sites are going to price themselves out of the market soon and more and more people, family's included will head for Europe where you get a better deal. These high prices are also effecting tourism in the area as more and more people stay away. Glad to see the Council have taken the initiative and open a parking area for £20, this will be a kick in the head for the club site and a great boost for the local shops and cafe's. I'm an ex market trader as well as a veteran and the one thing I learned from all the older traders was keep prices low to increase your turn over. Its turn over that counts not prices. I will watch a couple more of your vlogs just to see if your worth hitting the subscribe button 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Also as a wheelchair user can I ask if the gates on the footpath are wheelchair friendly?????. Hi guys great vlog as usual. Looking forward to the Bamburgh one. We were members but came out last year as prices were getting ridiculous. We are still members of the Caravan and Motor home club, and we are in County Durham for two nights at £81.00 and then on to York for two night £86.00. I will not be renewing my membership next year either as I find a lot of lovely camp sites on Pitchup and small campsites site. They tell it how it is good and bad and you get lots of reviews to make your decisions. Catch up on next one, cheers Jan and Willie

As a comparison, what is the cost of a popular C&MC site as a non-member? I think both clubs are expensive but until we all do our bit and save electricity and water when on campsites, prices will continue to rise just like the operating costs.

It’s a lovely site but the WiFi/phone signal is non-existent, so you either have to pay for the Premium Club WiFi which is average or use the free one which is less than average. Lovely wooded walks though. Also Bridlington site allow tents too apparently. I think CAMC are catching on that they can earn money from tents too.

You can't compare it with CMHC prices unless you're either members or non members of both. I think prices for non members are designed to encourage you to join, and there are also other member privileges like shop discounts.

Lucky to reside in France where we have great sites at very reasonable prices. Had to reluctantly return to the Septic Isle this June for a Scottish wedding and visit family. Prices in England were exorbitant and not always good quality services. Scotland was so much better value. I have a booking for a week in Bayeux next month @ 19 euros per night incl electric. Wow - £53 - Prices like these are really putting me off getting another motorhome, we used to pay £3-8 for listed sites and £16, was the most expensive top club site we paid for a night in 2005. When you add the cost of owning and running a motorhome, then a B&B or a hotel is cheaper, total madness. Love the videos btw 👍
