GT Grade is on sale for $840, and Poseidon X-Ambition is on sale for $749. Both are worth considering for under $1k. I like these options as well; well done!
Only if you know what to look for. Definitely need a friend to help you out if you're a beginner, you might not be able to spot some things that are in bad shape and need to be replaced.
Excellent video! Thanks for including some rim brake options. The video mentions them needing adjustment but I have never found that to be the case. It’s good to know one can buy a decent bike today that doesn’t need to cost an insane amount of money.
As others have mentioned Van Rysel should be included. .my pick would be the Cannondale though anyday except for its black not a fan of black bikes 😊 Pete
Triban RC520 comes with Microshift 10v. They recognized that making it fully Shimano 105 was a bad move at that price point. They reserve that for their Van Rysel bikes now.
The main concern with these bikes is the head tube is way too long. That means there's no practical way to get in an aggresive, aerodynamic position for faster riding. They all seem to use an endurance geometry.
Ye i also wonder why none of the big cycle techs ain't talking about that, it offers full Shimano 105 and 9.2kg weight at only £1200, that sounds like a pretty good deal to me
@@haririod1139 Weiight does matter when you are carrying it up, but "the most" is a big issue. It is a good indicator of what this is made of. There is aluminum that is like a brick, and aluminum almost as good as steel. My bikes are mostly alu, although some with cf stays.
The Triban RC 520 with Shimano 105 has been out of stock for quite some time now. (At least where I'm at) Decathlon currently only offers this bike with Microshift, which is the only reason for me not to buy one.
Can't decide between the Trek or Specialized models. Both are $1,200 and roughly same specs. Only difference is Trek has the wires hidden so it looks cleaner. Which is better long term?
@Dannyboi669 I'm 260 lbs, about to make a purchase soon. I'm not familiar with hydraulic brakes. Is it noticeable difference between hydraulic & wired disc brakes?
"Claris is 3 tiers below 105" is a hell of a way to call it the worst Shimano road bike group set 🤣

Buy 2nd hand.

@@OpheliaNLlook for chinese brands its not that famous or known but it has good specs and not as light but what youd expect from 1000
Agree
Be careful, no odometer on a bike

Great video, which shows that there's a good few options at around a grand...for me, the Allez looks the pick of the bunch.

How is a £1249 bike a £1000 bike?

Can’t deal with mechanical disc brakes and even worse is not having a rim brake alternative. I would overhaul for hydraulic disc brakes.
I like my Kask helmet! Thanks Sam Gupta!
Rim brakes are superior.
Merida scultura 400 rim brake only £800 full 105 build brilliant bike Primera sports.
What about the Van Rysel EDR AF 105 ???

A table of comparison specs would be nice, especially when it came to weight ..
because of the myth that weight matters the most and the fact that the weight is easier to compare than other things?

Did you pick?
@@arcticape445 Went with the Specialized Allez and glad I did.
Allez is always on sale so you can definitely get it for less than 1000
Where can I buy the Triban in the states? It’s sold out inline
Can I upgrade the groupset on the domane?
Triban 520 has been remplaced.
That Allez should at least have Sora for the full price it’s sold at
That canyon shouldn't be there- its 300 pounds over the intended price point- of course its better specced!!
How about doing a video on flat handle bar road bikes?
Buy a 12 month old bike 2nd hand and get double the value. Last year I bought a giant tcr, carbon, disc, 105 for 1k
Some of these would make a decent winter bike.......
I got the ar2 for £880 i think i got a good deal i just wish it didnt have cable disc breaks as a heavier rider 😢
What do you prefer?
@Azav312 hydraulic discs for sure I've had them before on a cheaper flat bar bike and they were amazing compare to cable discs
@Dannyboi669 I'm 260 lbs, about to make a purchase soon. I'm not familiar with hydraulic brakes.

@Azav312 yeah it's massive mate I'd recommend defo going for hydraulic 100%
@@Dannyboi669 cool, I've been eying the Trek Domane AL 4
Why do you never talk about uk brands? Ribble, Dolan etc. You get better and support uk businesses
Because this is a CANYON advert.
Triban and Cube one is not Thru Axle …
Ffs do you even check links you put under the video?
Just bikes from big brands hella pricy not as good as those 800$ Chinese full Sora/Tiagra hydraulics
Hey cranksters, put some nobbys on any of these and your all gravel trendy hipsters. Haha
Van rysel edr alu 105 ..1200 euros.
Ye it offers a full Shimano 105 at that price 🫠idk why none of them ain't talking about it, it's genuinely sounds like a great deal
RC520 is being downgraded to microshift. Feels like you just crunk this one out for the content.
Get the other bloke on
