Excellent videos of East Prussia and Königsberg. I always dreamed about to visit. Now it's possible, but I am too old (79 yrs). I had a good friend here in Australia from Tilsit. She passed away some years ago. She always was so homesick for her home town Tilsit. She had to flee the city in 1945 when she was only 16 yrs old. Too sad she never could go back for a visit. Thank you for yet another fantastic travel blog. You know when my American friends ask me about some English YT channel about Russia the first one I always recommend is RussianPlus. And once again I ve proved to myself that this is the right choice!
I’ve really enjoyed your visit to this region. The best parts are your visits with the locals. Russians are so warm and friendly. I’ve traveled all over Western Europe. The only place I’ve encountered this type of warmth has been in parts of England/Scotland and maybe in Belgium. I just love the people. The guy from Kazakhstan, the lady with the pink kitchen, the apple lady and the babushka on the beach ... I want to meet them all and be their friend. The food looked fantastic. I was shocked at the disparity in wealth between the resort towns and those in the interior. I hope the economy improves. I was also shocked to learn about that weed that can burn and blind you. It looked pretty. Thank you for making these wonderful videos. You are the bridge between your country and the world.
Bro ... you are one of the best historical dudes - you make videos that are informative and funny! Great job as usual - I love learning about your country ... and seeing your friends and people. Hope your week is good!
You shouldnt take this kind of videos as educational, this guy forgot to mention few things, like how Russian conquered this German area in 1945 and expelled all Germans from their homes. Or how they tried to erase all evidences thel lived there
Really enjoyed watching this video as well. For us Americans this video matches our ideas of what Russia is like. The older ladies for the most part have an unique look that I don't think one can find anywhere else. You mom could pass for an European or an American but not the ladies in this video. The bicycle rentals I thought of being expensive. The meal costs are unbelievably low. That fish looked very appetizing and it would have cost you way more around the US. I was impressed that you were in the water bare feet. Even in the pics it look really cold. The dancing tree park was awesome. Another excellent video!!
Very beautiful and sweet towns. I certainly love it. I wish next time you could do a video about Ural mountains resorts. However Kaliningrad is sure worth visiting. The old woman in the end reminds me of my grandmother. Greetings from Bulgaria.
Another Excellent video. You have a great ability to mix history, scenic photography, personal interactions and local charm. Your videos are mini-vacations in themselves.

Perfect insight of such a unknown area of Russia. It is remarkable your hability to interact with the people, not many bloggers can manage it, Congratulations Slava.
Wow, this was really good. I'm gonna have to watch this a couple more times to take it all in. Of all the places you've taken me to. This was the nicest. The best part of this for me is your interaction with the people. Of all the English speaking Russian Channels Yours is the only one that talks to the common folks. They are good people and I am glad to see that. That dancing Forest is pretty cool! I wonder if you can buy some of the pine cones to grow such trees . Great Video Thank you.
This is a great, informative and enjoyable channel and you deal with historical events very sensitively. I accept without question that the city is now Russian and I wish the inhabitants well, but for centuries it was German and for a time after the conquest the name in Russian was just a transliteration into Cyrillic of Königsberg (Кёнигсберг). It would be an honour to the truths of history to allow the name (and maybe the name of the whole region) to revert to their former names: Mikhail Kalinin was no angel, an ineffectual head of state, and co-signed the death warrants in the Katyn Massacre. He deserves no honour. In 1986 I visited Leningrad and Kalinin: today I would be visiting St Petersburg and Tver. Deeply satisfying historically. I wish the same for Kaliningrad.

Kaliningrad and the Kaliningrad region as a whole are becoming more and more transformed every year. A friend of mine moved from Orenburg to Kaliningrad to work at the Yantar shipyard. Overall, he is happy there. My wife also wants to go to the Baltic. But this year my family and I went all over the Caucasus. From Dagestan to Crimea. We were on the Caspian sea, the sea of Azov, and the Black sea. I advise you to visit the republics of the North Caucasus and the black sea resort

ABSOLUTELY LOVED this video. Amazing! You have a great gift and and talent for story-telling. It was so good to see the wonderful places that I have visited many times in the Oblast of Kaliningrad.....Curonian Spit, the Dancing Forest, Sovietsk and of course my favourite Zelenogradsk. I really hope many westerners will see that this is a part of Russia that is very easy to visit as a tourist. The people and the place are wonderful. I have had many conversations on the beach in Zelenogradsk with strangers that have become instant friends. Many western people have lost the ability to talk to strangers. This is one of the many reasons I love the people of Russia, they are real and honest - sat it like it is. I was born and raised in Australia before moving to the USA a few years ago. very nice and interesting video. I visited Kaliningrad and Svetlogorsk and Zelenogradsk in 2012. It seems a lot has changed. I still miss out on going to Tilsit and Insterburg aerea where my family derives from. My dad was born in Königsberg and never had the chance to visit the city again... i did on his behalf. It was a weird experience to compare old photos with the current look. Only my greatgrandfathers house in a Kaliningrad suburb looks like nothing has ever happened... Hopefully travelling will be much easier in the future for EU citizins... it was so complicated to go there. I was actually in Lithuania and Poland this summer and on 7 occassion I had "a look" into the oblast. One from the other side of the Neman on Tilsit and one on the Curonian Split... sigh.. i wish i could have simply crossed the bridge.. but maybe next year
Awesome video. I can relate to the surfing attempt. Grew up in SoCal, the water there is colder than many would imagine, we wore at least half wetsuits most of the year. I sucked at surfing so stuck to the Boogie Board. I'm such a fan of Kaliningrad now, totally see why folks like it there. Nice talk with Lady on the beach. Thank you for taking us on a tour of this beautiful city. I have learned so much about Russia that I didn’t know about. The colors of the gardens are so amazing.
Thank you from Hungary for this informative video. You always choose such interesting and beutiful places to show that I really want to know more about them. You do an excellent job, keep going forward, please. And besides all, the world can see through your lenses how beautiful your country is.
Thank you from Canada, I cant understand how you can get burnout from being a kindergarten teacher. Love your videos. Really nice during pandemic COVID 19. To many of us , we always thought of Russia as being very cold, no beaches. Lovely to see the beaches. I have always lived near the ocean. Nothing like a sandy beach, warm salt air and a fancy drink (or wine ) to enjoy the day people watching. This part of Russia is very inviting.. I am so happy to have found your channel. The government should pay you to promote your country with these video brochures. One thing I do notice that is positive, but it may be that it isn't busy season, but not too commercialized and not crowded. Beaches where I'm from usually very crowded in summer, late spring into early fall.
@@655vitek There are some nice beaches if you on the east Nova Scotia coast not too terribly cold but still cold to swim and beautiful beaches on the West Coast even with some palm trees!
Hello. I really enjoyed both the tour and scenery of this video. I personally lived in Germany for five years, and those cities that had German heritages felt very similar to my surroundings there. I was surprised of the uneven economic growth of the area. Here in USA (I know improper comparison) resort areas lifts surrounding economies at least to some extent. As you say, tradition may hold some of the areas back or maybe the distances among the cities and towns. I appreciate your time and energy that you put into these videos. I would never have the time or energy to visit all of these locations by myself. Cheers.
Great video, that fisherman probably had an argument with his wife and couldn't take any more so he went fishing and didn't want to be disturbed😐 Keep up the good work 👍
Really liked your video on Kallingrad/East Prussia!Being a history buff of the Eastern Front it is awesome to see some of cities and towns that were fought over, a viewer from Indiana!
I loved the video. Your Mom and the lady at the end are very sweet. I loved her discription of the cities to visit and your Mom is very kind and sweet. Your wife / girlfriend is joyful and I loved that. You get my maximum points, your English is excellent, you are funny and the diction could not be better. I was already twice at the border of Kanilingran, on the Vistula and Curonian spits. It's just paradise there. I dream about crossing the border one day.
I knew that there was of course a lot of German history in Kaliningrad but I had no idea that Friedland, Eylau, and Tilsit, all places with Napoleonic connotations, were also here. With so much history and ambitious and engaging people like yourselves to tell it I am sure there is a bright future for the region. As always thank you and keep 'em coming!
Kaliningrad by the way 2 times became the territory of Russia as a result of world war 2, the first time East Prussia was ceded to Russia under the Empress Elizabeth, during the war with Frederick of Prussia, and in 1758 Emanuel Kant even swore allegiance to the Russian Empire
@@aniinnrchoque1861 Don't mind him. That was only for four years. For now them using that fact to prove that Prussia always belong to Russia. it is like saying Napoleon took Moscow - so Russia became French territory ))))))

Thank you for the movie, nice place, lots of information and nice pictures. I lived in Gdańsk 11 years ago and I love Baltic Sea. Greetings from Liverpool.
I wanted to tell you that I’m obsessed with RUclips, I’m subscribed to more than 400 channels, and you are the best channel I’ve ever seen! so professional so calm.
Amazing
very nice and interesting video. One from the other side of the Neman on Tilsit and one on the Curonian Split... sigh.. i wish i could have simply crossed the bridge.. but maybe next year
Very cool. You go to some great places that I would love visit myself.
Don't fear us in NATO Mam, all we want is to airdrop you some bathing suits 🤠😁. Привет Лана и Мама 🤗.
loved the cinematography Slava !!! Keep them comin
Thank you
Excellent video. Thank you for sharing. Loved the 'Russia lessons'.
I have enjoyed watching your trip to different parts of Russia. Thank you so much for the information. It makes me wanna visit Russia someday. Also, my bad impression of Russia has changed. Thank you.
Thank you for taking us on a tour of this beautiful city. I have learned so much about Russia that I didn’t know about. The colors of the gardens are so amazing.
In recent years, many houses have been repaired in the cities of the region.
@Alexandr Kiselev I live here and I know what I'm talking about!
You could say, that it still hurts.

Thank you for the informative video definitely worth a visit from us in Sweden next summer !
Tks for the drive around tour. Enjoyed it all.
Excellent video I enjoyed watching it and I look forward to seeing your next video.😀😀😀👍🇬🇧
Russians are indeed very warm and lovely people except for maybe the fishermen. LOL.
And the cat lady
True, except in Moscow. As one Russian soldier insisted to me, Moscow is NOT Russia.
Fish love calm and silence. So do the fishermen. If you gonna talk while fishing, then you back home with empty hands.
Thank you from Hungary for this informative video. You always choose such interesting and beutiful places to show that I really want to know more about them. You do an excellent job, keep going forward, please. And besides all, the world can see through your lenses how beautiful your country is.
So beautiful and historical places 😍
Extremely STRANGE to hear some one from Canada surprised with cold, is there more cold place then Canada? And what beaches are there, Arctick ones?)
@@655vitek There are some nice beaches if you on the east Nova Scotia coast not too terribly cold but still cold to swim and beautiful beaches on the West Coast even with some palm trees!
@@655vitek e
and the naughty babuschka lady at the end was really cool!
Cheers.
Great video, that fisherman probably had an argument with his wife and couldn't take any more so he went fishing and didn't want to be disturbed😐
Keep up the good work 👍
I am amazed that how wonderful most of the people you talked with were.
Looks like a great place to visit, I love the forest areas the best. Such friendly people at the beaches, very nice!
Really liked your video on Kallingrad/East Prussia!Being a history buff of the Eastern Front it is awesome to see some of cities and towns that were fought over, a viewer from Indiana!
i liked the video. i never knew about Kaliningrad ,... beautiful place... wish to visit one day
I loved the video.
@@макслюлюкин I guess that's supposed to mean smth?
@@aniinnrchoque1861 Don't mind him. That was only for four years. For now them using that fact to prove that Prussia always belong to Russia. it is like saying Napoleon took Moscow - so Russia became French territory ))))))
@@vladimirvlad6441 ha ha ye u could apply that sentiment on so many places
Thank you for this video! I was born and raised in Kaliningrad(Konigsberg), and left in 1986. It changed a lot, but I still can recognize it. This is the reason I am living in NYC, can't live without water :) Thank you again!
An Enigma machine!! That's so awesome!
Another excellent video- as usual. Really find it interesting and informative to see all these cities, towns and villages!
