Yes, I know that the cost of fruit and veg is very expensive at the supermarket at Woolies & Coles in Australia for example. That's why I can't wait until I get my block of land to plant all of that onto,I can grow watermelon 🍉 for just about nothing on it as well. At the moment we've been getting free Kent pumpkin which is currently being sold for $2.50 per kilo at Woolworths,the other option in my area is to go to a pumpkin stand on the side of the road where I can pick up a whole pumpkin for about $2 if none are available since I live in the farming area outside of Newcastle in New South Wales !
Prices seem higher there than the mainland, I'm assuming that they don't grow that fruit on the island so there's the extra cost of shipping out there by boat ? I haven't bought any here for ages but I've no doubt the prices are eye-watering 😂
