US numbers are weird and not to be taken seriously. Teens are clowning on their friends who buy actually superior phones with intuitive operating system, navigations and functions, while those clowning are the ones with sheep mentality.
I don’t agree with your sheep comment. Android had enough trash phones when it launched for people in the US to develop a stigma against it. It’s the problem with associating your brand with mediocre products. In other countries where price is more of a sensitive topic, people had no choice. Android has a long way unless they cut the excuses of poor implementation and insecurity.
@@JaimeRiveraTech What does that mean "Android had enough trash phones"? Android isn't a company, just an OS. I've seen terrible photos from great phones with people who can't use them and amazing photos despite the hw and it always humbles me to remember, it's not the brand that makes you a good photographer. Apple to me, since i'm not doing videography on the daily like an influencer, I feel that Android is way more intuitive than iOS. it usually gets out of my way when i want to do certain things whereas Apple only now, allows you even customize something a bit and their biggest draw for this year is AI and the fake camera button that some people will accidentally activate when holding the phone but as Apple tells their sheep, thou haveth holdeth it wrong. haha. I dislike Apple in general but I'm fine with Apple users as i have to use it for work too. I hate the fanboys though -- really blind faith levels for a corporation. I know everyone is complaining about RAM in the new iPhone. Did we forget that iPhones have been achieving a lot more in terms of RAM management over Androids with 2 GB of RAM when they had 6 GB back in the day. Apple and IOS is the most optimized system there is.
That's the thing they conveniently choose to ignore. Android often have to compete by going bigger on numbers. Whether its RAM, Battery, Camera Megapixels or resolution. Let the android has the same ram, battery size, camera megapixels and resolution as the iPhone and see how well it performs. Pound for pound the iPhone will knock that Samsung out the park.
Too bad now that Apple intelligence is not available fully on older devices because guess what, they don't have enough RAM. Large RAM amounts are better for future proofing, especially with so many years of software Support.
It's great to see you prefer iPhone 16 over Samsung due to superior camera processing & i agree too if i had it compared between Samsung S24, but in my case display is very important to me, neither of them is having higher PWM dimming, meaning both of them will harm eyes when used in low light conditions, hence i will pick Xiaomi 15 Pro, which surpasses both Samsung S24 & iPhone 16 in Photography while being slightly behind in videography against iPhone 16 _(but i am not a content creator)_ , HyperOS 2 is already much ahead then Oneui while being slightly ahead then iOS in lockscreens and multitasking, we all know Android is far ahead then iOS while iOS in king in it's ecosystem.

Cabal.

So, I've been a lifelong moto user and I jumped ship and bought both the iPhone 15 Pro Max and the S23 Ultra. I do disagree with iPhone being superior. I bought both phones as my new job required a phone that needed to perform well in intensive tasks and perform well for a long period of time. I was extremely disappointed with the iPhone 15 pro max. The extra cores really do help on the galaxy as software optimization can only get you so far. The 15 pro max also throttled MUCH quicker than the galaxy, thanks to the Galaxy's vapor chamber. Overall, the iPhone 15 pro max is a good phone, but it definitely fell short, and apples advertising of the phone being for more intensive tasks fell short for me. The OS being more restrictive was also just kind of hilarious to me. You can still customize both phones, but the iPhone is severely limited in its scope. After using both for as long as they've been out, I would never buy an iPhone to Daily Drive even if i didn't have the job i did as the iPhone is just flat out inferior in terms of customization, performance, and price. The apple ecosystem doesn't do it any favors as 1.4k for 8gb of ram is probably the most disgusting thing I've ever seen. To be fair, this is all my experience, and I can absolutely see why users who aren't as power intensive go for the iPhone and its ecosystem overall. For the price though its a very poor ecosystem. Selling you less for way way more.
@JaimeRiveraTech the interesting thing about apples " optimization for IOS" b.s is genius for them tbh. They use their advantage of a closed OS to sell you subpar hardware and price it as expensive hardware. That's how they make so much money they screw you. If they put 8 core cpus clocking in at reasonable speeds, they would lose a lot of money because your phone would run twice as long as a phone with 6 cores. That's undercooked. Yes, their software makes up for it for 4 years, but after that amount, no amount of software tricks will make up for your phone slowing down due to the lack of cores required for the new versions of IOS. It's a wonderful legal scam, and people eat it up.
@@foreverpure1950 True, and that's the thing. Apple makes the most profits out of the business because to them it's not a spec war, like for the others. They work on being more efficient about optimizing. That's how you keep the lights running. If Apple would spin off the iPhone as a separate company, it would be bigger than most others combined still.
Already working on the first episode. It’ll be different though. More like - video when it’s worth your time, instead of a daily that we were really not putting much effort into
@JaimeRiveraTech - We need some genius re-design on smartphones. the design and form factors haven't changed for 10+ years. In my opinion, the last device I believe had a unique feel to it while holding was the Sony Xperia Arc S with the curved back design. ( The recent folds and flips being an exception)
Wow, you're pulling out the big guns. Agreed. I do think foldables can bridge that gap you're looking for, but they need to get better for the price, or cheaper for their limitations.
God bless on your new journey. First video and professional as always. Lovely and thanks for the high quality insight of both phones. No matter what it takes, just do it 😉
I’d honestly say that a 60Hz panel is a dealbreaker for people right out of the gates. Budget-midrange phones like the CMF phone and others come with 120Hz, and it’s just a bad look on paper first of all to have a 60Hz display on the flagship phone. In practise, I notice a difference, but don’t care too much, but I may bring that factor in when buying my next phone I think another big dealbreaker hardware wise is the lack of a telephoto lens on the iPhone. Yeah, 2x crop is perfectly great, but there are many occasions where I need to zoom in, and the photos just look garb when I do. Hot take, I would honestly trade the main lens for a 0.5 lens of the same quality with good software anti fisheye, paired with a 2x/3x telephoto.
Once it becomes standard, the only defining differences between a flagship Android phone and a flagship iPhone will be niche features, like the S pen, and personal preference in OS.
Very nice to see a very honest review here, the phones are just getting closer and closer with what they can do, however cause of the freedom that android gives, switching to iPhone as my main phone has never been possible. Would love seing iOS get more open for small devs.
I get where you're coming from. I do think that things are getting better after the recent EU rulings. Not for everyone yet, but it's a step in the right direction.
This is just a great reminder that the entry level iPhones and Androids are just as good as it's "PRO" variant or even better of a value. great review Jaime👍
Have been using an iPhone only since past 3 years. I usually turn off GPS on my phone to save battery. It’s so tedious to turn off GPS on an iPhone. I had to create a shortcut to navigate to the option. It’s so much easier on an Android phone.
I switched to iPhone a few years ago but not a sheep and would Switch back to android if I found a phone compelling enough. As far the iMessage, this is bizarre to me as everyone in Europe and even friends I have in Asia all seem to use WhatsApp regardless of what phone they have. There’s zero difference.
7:27 Compared to previous generation (S23), Samsung significantly improved skin tones which I really like on S24 lineup. Maybe even better than IPhone. The issue is that, as seen in 7:35 and 7:44, it still has the magenta hue (like on S23) sometimes. Especially with selfie cam. Hope that Samsung will make skin tones and colors more consistent over updates or at least on S25 lineup.
True that. Lots of improvements. I do wish Samsung would add even more contrast. Otherwise this is what makes any photo hard to use on social media. If you consider the main difference between a professional camera and a phone camera, it’s all contrast.
It's so strange to see how many people buy iPhones in the USA. In my country you can barely find some. Mostly teenage girls (for fashion) and companies (for less malwares) have them, but 80-90% of my friends have Android.

I do love the S24 Ultra. There's so much of it I depend on like the S Pen. My problem with it is that at its price, it's not the best camera on a phone. That said in the US you don't have much choice. Obviously I'm exposed to a ton of the other brands abroad, so my thought process is broader. That Leica tuning from Xiaomi is just incredible. I wish the S24 had that level of character.

Even if it’s just a battery hog that’s poorly supported?
@@JaimeRiveraTechat that price phones have tremendous battery life.
bro 120hz and 2k resolution doesn't take that much of battery I didn't want to mention my device name but yeah 120hz is normal nowadays come on man @@JaimeRiveraTech
@@egobot9999 I'd agree if companies wouldn't disable both things by default when you unbox your phone 😉
I have to agree with Jaime here. I use a 60 Hz iPhone 15, 120 Hz iPad and 120 Hz MacBook Pro. Never have I felt the need for 120 Hz on any of these other devices. I fully understand the need for high refresh rate and low latency monitors for competitive gaming. It does make a difference there at a higher competition level.
I love this Bro! Can’t wait for more
Thanks my brother! Appreciate it!
Love how you use your folders and orginaze your home screens.
It’s always been a thing for me. Thanks!
Phones using Android come from a gazillion companies, and their quality is all over the place, spanning fromvery bad to very good.
" where price is more of a sensitive topic, people had no choice" Are you saying, Android users would choose iphone if they had more money? I wouldn't use an iphone even if it was free.
@@xaverlustig3581 Bro you triggered him when you said the truth😂, sheep mentally offended
60h? That's like an immediate loss for me
I know it is for many.
Sorry, but... what?? Why would you pick the S24? I have an iPhone 15 Pro Max, but still would pick the S24 over the 16, even just for the 120hz. To me it's just choppy and slow.
You picked the 15 Pro Max. That is all 🤷🏻♂️🤣
Been following you for years on PN , great to see you start something of your own. God bless!
God blesses me with all of you here showing love. Appreciate you
camera wise, i feel other than pixel peeping, most people can't tell.
I understood now how jonestown could strive back then. Same vibe.
Good points overall. I do think Chinese phones are doing far better photography in the Android space, though
i mean, iOS gives you more control over the post-processing of pictures with RAW, and adobe lightroom and pixelmator (both of which work with the RAW photo, making it better than android's lack of RAW) but, you do you i guess.
@@reduchimaki Most of 'flagship' android devices right now (even Chinese Phones) can shoot RAW and LOG videos. RAW images has been introduced since the S21 Ultra series.
tho i do think the whole point of smartphones is to make bad photos at the hands of bad hands be good.
which makes the overpriced smartphones ehem trash why? read further
I mean who would even bother learning all those complicated stuff ? why learn ISO ? why learn aperture? shutterspeed? composition ? grid whatever rule ?
the normal and casual user needs a one touch gives out good photo right off the bat.
which both apple and samsung failed at horrendously
my 2018 redmi note 8 takes better photos than apple (ip13) and samsung (s23+). ( again on the perspective of casual fast one click )
overprice but low quality processing made both apple and samsung trash in the casual camera usage.
BUT
manual photography setting? dang both my ip13 and s23+ rocks.
tho i rarely do the manual thing because WHY WOULD I WASTE TIME FOR IT ? im not pro photographer and i do not really care about the crap to waste my time with.
First video! And it’s a masterpiece!
😍😍
Great review Jaime, much love from SA🇿🇦
Thanks for being here!!
Fantastic video buddy!
Appreciate you being here my brother!
cant help but notice that stutter in those two trees in the background at 8:05. everything else in this video feels true but selfie video is seemingly better visually and stability wise imo in the samsung, if i had to judge from this one shot
Rendering a video over a generator can lead to artifacts on the second render so don’t let that be your judge
All I want is 1 really good rear camera, I don’t care about the other cameras phones come with
Imagine the Galaxy Camera but with a sensor from today
That's not physically possible unless they add actual variable optical zoom, at which point the camera bump would be so big that you may as well just take a camera.
@@rdmz135 doesn't Sony Xperia One IV or one of their model had only one camera sensor that can actually change the size ( not sure about the name ) and zoom out/in? Reviewers said the pics taken while detailed, it lagged behind in HDR, exposure and colors. But still, it can be done with a reasonable camera bump.
@@phucanh0374 no, it does not have a sensor that can change size. however, it does have a camera connected to a zoom lens, which allows for zooming. it does take kinda bad pictures, but thats likely due to some sony processing issue imo. if a phone manufacturer could add a camera with a zoom lens while still having accurate colors, it would easily dominate the long focal range for smartphone cameras
@rdmz135 lol of course it is possible. He never said anything about having 1 sensor doing everything, just have 1 camera

Great video! Feels like I'm in an alternate universe not hearing "with PocketNow" at the end lol
Haha it was a struggle to not introduce myself with ir 🤣🤣
3:06: Still not sure why Jaime covers and uncovers the speaker in his reviews. It’d make more sense to level-match the volume of both devices, play the same clip, then switch back and forth between their audio feeds.
I did.. many years ago. It’s like running benchmarks. I can portray loudness with the meter, and loud is not an indication of quality 😉
@@JaimeRiveraTechI just meant setting both phones to the same volume and switching audio between them so viewers (with decent speakers/headphones) can hear the difference. I realize that's more work, so okay to skip. I'm just not sure what covering/uncovering the speaker is supposed to do-show the primary speaker’s location?
BTW, congrats on going out on your own! Looking forward to this new chapter! 👏
Not a big fan of apple, but I do have a massive respect for their camera system
Agreed
A nice comparison and honestly two great options to choose from
Appreciate your feedback
I know everyone is complaining about RAM in the new iPhone. Did we forget that iPhones have been achieving a lot more in terms of RAM management over Androids with 2 GB of RAM when they had 6 GB back in the day. Apple and IOS is the most optimized system there is.
Dude iphone use less ram cause it doesn't sideload
@ too bad the Pixels don’t work that way either. Optimization is key and IOS does it best .
Right and even so Apple doubled the RAM for Apple Intelligence
That's the thing they conveniently choose to ignore. Android often have to compete by going bigger on numbers. Whether its RAM, Battery, Camera Megapixels or resolution. Let the android has the same ram, battery size, camera megapixels and resolution as the iPhone and see how well it performs. Pound for pound the iPhone will knock that Samsung out the park.
Too bad now that Apple intelligence is not available fully on older devices because guess what, they don't have enough RAM. Large RAM amounts are better for future proofing, especially with so many years of software Support.
Awesome video bro!! Loving it
Appreciate it my brother!
Yeah Chinese phones are owning it in so many departments. Totally a better investment if you can find them in your region
I recently brought a s23 and after that the 60 heartz screen on my iphone 15 really hurts a lot and on top of that it doesn't have a telephoto lens . Iphone 15 in an extremely boring phone and on top of that the lack of Truecaller or call recordings really hurts a lot .
lol.. it doesn’t hurt. Stop being dramatic 🤣🤣
@@JaimeRiveraTech i used to use a motorola phone with 120 hz screen compared to that when i used the iphone 15 i was surprised by seeing the level of smoothness of the iPhone 15 but as i moved to the s23 it was clearly evident that the gap between the iphone screen and s23 screen is huge . Only good thing is that processor of the 15 is quite better but what i am gonna do with it as all the cool stuff like the emulators are all made for android.
IPhone base models should be compared with FE versions of galaxy
Nah.. lol
it costs the same as the base s24. the fe versions of galaxy should be compared with the se versions of the iphones.

Crazy that we’re so old we still make phone calls 😉🤣🤣. Thanks for being here!
Like, i dont care if the samsung is a better value or whatever, the iphone just looks better, people shit on apple for making the iphones the same every year, but samsung does it too, and even worse, their cheapest phones look unrecognizable from their top of the line
You know, I actually do like Samsung’s designs just as much. For me it’s the full execution of the product
Love this kind of comparison video. Thanks Jaime and look forward to future content!

3:15 i disagree, exynos 2400 has higher score in antutu then a18, i know antutu is horible at comparing sustained perfornance but even sustained performance is slmost the same, also smaller transistors doesnt always mean better, take the 8 gen 1 for example
Bro no, 2400 is not better, maybe in numbers but that's just benchmarks, benchmarks are benchmarks for real world use that's what benchmarking is for

Selling you less for way way more.
iOS is just very different about RAM than Android 🤷🏻♂️

I’m just so thankful you guys are here. Appreciate your time
@JaimeRiveraTech - We need some genius re-design on smartphones. the design and form factors haven't changed for 10+ years.

Glad you’re here! And here I was thinking I took too long to publish the first one
I’d honestly say that a 60Hz panel is a dealbreaker for people right out of the gates. Budget-midrange phones like the CMF phone and others come with 120Hz, and it’s just a bad look on paper first of all to have a 60Hz display on the flagship phone.
In practise, I notice a difference, but don’t care too much, but I may bring that factor in when buying my next phone
I think another big dealbreaker hardware wise is the lack of a telephoto lens on the iPhone.
I wish more people saw it the way you do. Sadly most people don’t care, and this is why it continues to be a feature
Once it becomes standard, the only defining differences between a flagship Android phone and a flagship iPhone will be niche features, like the S pen, and personal preference in OS.
You missed out that since S21 till S24, the base model for some reason don't get UWB, which is odd if they want to push their SmartTag ecosystem
Yeessss! You make a great point. No idea why that is.
Well thought it was over but thank god. Good to see you back.

Have been using an iPhone only since past 3 years. I usually turn off GPS on my phone to save battery. It’s so tedious to turn off GPS on an iPhone. I had to create a shortcut to navigate to the option. It’s so much easier on an Android phone.

As far the iMessage, this is bizarre to me as everyone in Europe and even friends I have in Asia all seem to use WhatsApp regardless of what phone they have. There’s zero difference.
I really don’t care about iMessage either. If you’re looking for a worthy iPhone competitor, weirdly they’re all in China right now 🤷🏻♂️

I'm latino. Same case here.
We are 23k subs today saturday, december 7 2024, 8:37am. Let's see how this just rockets. Excellent job, Jaime. Bendiciones! (me, still going back and forth between OS's)
Appreciate you being here. Bendiciones para mi vienen con tu apoyo.
I tried the galaxy s24 ultra and it was amazing. But because I’m deep into the apple ecosystem and enjoy it, it didn’t last. However, Samsung has done an amazing job with their S-series devices this year and I’m excited to see what they do with the S25 series
Luv this new fresh start ! 🎉
