Caddx lists the VRX module on their website for presale.... $239 US for the module AND a micro camera/VTX. Pretty good deal all things considered... it's 159 for just the camera and VTX, so that makes the VRX module $80... Not a latency digital fan (I prefer HDZero), but at that price I'm considering trying it out, especially once those HDZero goggle hit the market and I can have access to all three video systems in 1 goggle.
I like that settings are saved on the Goggle side, because that should make backing up settings easier. But the VTX units obviously need some id system so the correct settings can be applied on an individual basis. A system similar to ELRS "model match" would be ideal. I think the Walksnail system could easily dominate the FPV market if they play it right.
Im really rooting for theese brands to be able to take over more, mainly because of their bigger roots from FPV.. if they keep improving i might switch in the future🤟
I don't like their initial goggle offering, but i do have high hopes for the system overall. When they release a VRX it will allow us to use better goggles, and If they open the system up to hobbyist developers, it will easily become the #1 system even if its video quality is slightly less than avata
At closeish range, walksnail beats dji goggle image quqlity by lengths. No idea about long range or heavy duty penetration, but if you're at least somewhat close - I say go for the walking snail. Be aware that the Walksnail goggles have an absolutely horrible fit for people with slim faces. Disregard the annoying "oh, my eyelashes touched the lens" - the lenses are literally touching my eyes when I put on the goggles with the the default foam padding. I suggest ordering a set of VrCover (or similar) paddings. They're made for VR headsets but some (you'll have to look for the right dimensions) fit really well on the various available fpv goggles.
I like where they are going with this, the VRX 1s kit really has me tempted. It seems like a perfectly viable product, with some pros and cons... as anything. but I'd understand if someone choose this route. by Karls HDzero goggles are close... DJI O3 is close.... I'll probably get the VRX and use them with my Orqas
Really wish DJI offered something like their 1S VTX package. Fear I might have to run 2 goggles as I have DJI v2's and can't use Caddx/Walksnail VRX. My other option is ZeroHD or no 75mm whoops and that isn't really an option IMO :)
Excellent video, Ian! Thanks! 😃 It's really interesting how fast this system improved. It reminds me of HDZero and ELRS! Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

If I was going to buy new goggles to try out a HD system, its gonna be a DJI system. This is why I love HDzero, it can be used on almost any goggles. Though, only problem with the DJI system is that there are no light weight VTx for whoops and micros which I fly like 99% of the time and this is where analog and HDZero is so much better even though Avatar does have a lightweight VTx....you need new goggles....Almost $800 for a complete new setup. I rather go DJI at that point.
Do you know how the Walksnail goggles optics compair to the DJI goggles 2 I have seen many people saying the DJI ones have blurry edges when the centre is sharp and to get the edges clear you have to adjust the position on your face and then the centre is compromised, I because I may buy a the Avata kit in the new year but cant decide which goggles to V2 or goggles 2, I have the V1 goggles and think they are excellent but can' t use them with Avata.
I got goggles v2 and goggles 2 here. It's gonna heavily depend on your head mainly... the goggles V2 has a way better area of view that works for more people when they just put it on. The goggles 2 works for me, but I have to adjust it more to get it into that perfect viewing angle that lets me see the whole screen inside. But once I adjust though, it's fine with no fringing on the side. The IPD you have to adjust every time since it'll probably get shifted while it's in your bag carrying it around.
@@killerhurtalot Thanks, I am leaning towards going with the V2 as I know the V1 works for me and I have little chance to try the goggles 2 to see if they would be ok for me.

Why should I walk away from DJI if even DJI considers or started to supports there previous product line which had bothered me the most ? A lot of marketing hooray, just a 3 more or less paid influencers or companies at the launch with irritating videos, that is not what I like to trust.
