We hope those who need the rain get it, and we can fill up some of our empty lakes... without overflowing the already full lakes. Welcome to the summer portion of our crazy-busy 2024 weather year.
San Antonio is going into stage 3 drought June 20th if rain doesn't show up (storm hole we always get missed.) I say let it come. Western half of Texas is dry as a bone and in severe drought. Here's hoping this tropical depression will turn west and not hit Houston again. Houston has had enough flooding already.
Good morning, David. I wish you a very happy Father's Day . 😊. Have a great day. I like spaghetti o. Lol 😅 you make me laugh. It lightens up my day.thanks for the updates. Appreciate very much 😊 may God bless you and all your listeners, too.❤ 😊.
i keep seeing Brazos River Authority notifications on FB of releases on Possum Kingdom. Not complaining or anything they gotta do it. K, maybe quibbling. But they still gotta. Just only that I am down in Htown and I love going to Freeport to fish. Freeport just south of Galveston, and the mouth of the Brazos River in Texas. And the Brazos is running real high down on the coast the last the few weeks because of all their rain up north! Which causes the bays to temporarily become less salty with all the freshwater run off and therefore harder to fish. At any rate, stay safe yall. Down in Htown we say about flooded roads, “turn around don’t drown!”. Words of wisdom.
So...the rain is back. Ugh! My land finally got dry and here it comes again. Oh well, not complaining, it will be ok! Thank you David for all the information!! God bless you & your team!🌧
I got my weather station up, the rock hanging on rope and the wind chimes all up. All that is left is to put out the big flood light so if it's trying sneak up the back yard we can see it coming. 👍🏻 If you live in or near Houston you know you should have a boat or a blow up raft. We are so ready move. 😂 Thank You so much for your in-depth reports we really appreciate you and your teams!! ❤
Rather the rain than 12 weeks of 120* like last summer. Of course. I say this now. Wait a couple days...I hate mosquitoes more than 120*....so. there is that. Thanks Baldy!
I'm in Southeast Texas and my yard is finally dry! Now comes more rain....😮. I know Sam Rayburn Reservoir is 8' high. I'm hoping we stay under 2-3" total. South/Central can have our share.
Howdy, Texans, one and all. Welcome to today's presentation on Meterology, presented by the Texas Weather Center. If you love science and weather, this is for you! And anyone else needing the prep for Hurricane Season. Mr. Baldy in Chief offers an over view of how meterology works with all this modern tech, as well as, the reasons the tech can fail in its prediction ability. [No there is no mystical cabal of weathermen gathering and planning pranks on the unsuspecting public.] Thank you, for joining us today, and leave a comment, like and subscribe, set your noitifications to All, and join us next time ... which is usually afternoon storm warnings. Thanks TWC for watching out for us! Oh, and thanks for the Rain in the dusty dry west Texas areas.
@@GypsyIndigoBlu oh gosh... I have flooding in my house too, but it's NOTHING like Houston gets! I'm someone who prays, so I'm praying for Houston .. heck this entire half of Texas 🙏🏼
Good morning! Baldy and chief lake Corpus Christi needs the rain. The combined lake levels is at 25% Corpus Christi, is at a stage 3 water restriction. We need the rain a whole lot worse than Houston-Galveston the water reservoir for Corpus Christi, needs rain.” South, Texas is dry!! I hope I get so much needed rain or more at my house. Here in southeast Live Oak County,
Good morning and Happy Father's Day, BIC! You're looking quite spiffy with the trimmed up beard.❤ Looking forward to some rain here in the Big City of Breslau! 💐
When harvey hit the rain basically stopped at the craton/I-35 edge. Belton got 13", but just west of Ft. Hood we didnt get 13 drops let alone the inches we were promosed.
Thank you. I;m about 2 miles from the Brazos and its gone down maybe 10 feet from the last events, and is still pretty high. Won't take much to flood the roads around Bellville.
SUNDAY EVENING UPDATE: Thanks to a tropical' blob,' a wet period of weather is expected across the southeastern half of Texas this week. The 'blob' may become a named tropical system, but impacts will remain similar regardless of what we call the system. We'll see isolated to scattered popup storms tomorrow, but the most widespread/heavy rain will begin on Tuesday along the Texas Gulf Coast and Southeast Texas. We'll see rain chances expand west and north on Wednesday and Thursday. Flooding will become an issue by Tuesday Night. A prolonged period of gusty on-shore winds will result in some coastal flooding. Specifics like where the heaviest rain axis will be set up, the highest rain totals, etc., will be refined as we get into the work week. ~David #txwx
Fun fact, mild spring temps usually means hurricanes will be aplenty. I miss my radio with weather balloons. We got real time speeds to know how quickly we needed to seed fields.
Note to the Kali and other transplants, when the sign says high water, or you see others turning around, do the same. Don't be fooled. Some areas around Houston the water won't look deep, until you drive into it. The roads were designed to act as waterways to help facilitate runoff into the bayous. Welcome to Houston :) Thanks for the update David. Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there! Edit to add: buy your mosquito repellant now, they'll be in full attack pattern on the other side of all this rain ;)
We live in Longview along I-20 access Road..our back property line is the very flooded Sabine River...The access Road is extremely close to flooding across the road and another road around the corner from us was closed due to flooding. It was reopened a couple of days ago but it would take very very little for flooding again! How much rain does it look like Longview will get over the next week..... it's gonna be BAD
We could use some more rain. More than a spit or 2😂 lol. I love thunderstorms rumblings not so much lightning afraid of it hitting the trees by my house 😮.
😮😮😮....What I don't know or understand is when "they" built Lake Travis near Austin that "they" were solely depending on the Colorado River to keep it full...???... Sounds purty ignant on "they's" part...Now, Ev'ry other Lake is at "full pool or over full pool" and Lake Travis is barely available for any water...😒😒😒

Here's hoping this tropical depression will turn west and not hit Houston again, but sit on top of central Texas for a bit. Houston has had enough flooding already.

San Antonio needs all the rain it can get!
I live in Schertz. I’m hopping this thing sits on top of us as long as possible.
Our city will go into stage 3 starting June 20th if this rain doesn't come far north enough.
Yep...might help to wash all of the nastiness out...
I live southeast of San Antonio and for the last 3 months we have gotten only 1/2” of rain each month. Any rain that we get will be a blessing!
It's been dry as a bone. We are going stage 3 drought June 20th in San Antonio if rain continues to miss us.
The rain needs to come MUCH further inland! I really appreciate your Texas weather forecasts.
Not in East Texas. I've never seen this level of flooding for this area. Not feeling great about this forecast.
Praying the rain helps fill up or TX reservoirs and keeps everyone safe, we need the rain… happy Fathers day to you all!!
