The dark circuit on that guitar doesn’t seem as muddy as the usual roll off and sounds very usable! Also the middle pickup selector is for the neck pickup only without the roll off and sounds very clear. And great sounding bridge pickup. Great guitar and great playing!
Jen, your amazing coverage of this brilliant artist has been legendary! Many many thanks to you for your brilliant photography. GOTD owes you a tremendous debt. !!!!!!!
The dark circuit ( treble removed from first switch position) was used because the fender bass guitar would not be introduced for a while. Guitar players would play the bass lines on it.
You got the wiring partly off Neck Pos - Dark Circuit Middle Pos - Just neck pickup - no tone control Bridge Pos - Bridge pickup / tone control blends in neck pickup
Last week I saw a gentleman walked into a store w 15 guitars . There was a orig 1951 no caster n the story was Fender borrowed it to make what you have is the 1951 reissue . He has a few more beautiful pieces in that sale to the shop. I was mentioning Norms to him but he needed to raise so money fast for a project. The 1951 is more a players guitar grade ❤🎸
That first bit was so good, Michael. I dig that song so much. I’ve been listen to the shit out of your blue comet album. It’s really good. Love listening to it driving down 95 on a rainy day.
Just a note, I have small hands, but find the huge, baseball bat neck on my G.E Smith a perfect fit. Play some fat necks and see how they work for you.
Corrrection...the middle position is the neck pickup alone with it's normal sound(not both pickups blended). The 3 position is the neck pickup with the muted bassy sound and the 1 position is the bridge pickup alone.Depending how this guitar is wired(if per 1951 specs) the back knob should be a blender instead of a tone knob which allows you to blend the neck pickup into the bridge pickup for a combined pickup sound....the more you blend it in then the more the two pickups blend similar to a modern Tele in the 2 position where both pickups are combined.By 1952 Fender discarded the blend knob feature and went with a tone knob instead and you couldn't blend the bridge and neck pickups anymore until 1967 when they changed to wiring to how Teles are wired nowadays with bridge/both/neck.
How often do you guy's come across a Jimmy Page signature Telecaster? I just now today watched the Gibson double neck guitar video. Very nice version of "Stairway," Michael. This Tele sounds great, too.
Nice range of sound, Michael. I wonder if it is Fender Custom pickups or was that std sound? 1951 was a good year. You are doing good, Mike. I hope all is well.
The Broadcaster was released in 1948. The rest of your historic info regarding said guitar is correct. Leo raised the D and G string magnets in 1954 and changed from AlNICo III to AlNiCo V to give better string balance and clarity: the D and wound G were weak in relation to the other 4 strings. The flat pole pieces didn't add more bass: extending the D and G increased the clarity of those two strings. The "better" bass response is due to the fact that the AlNICo III magnets used in the pickups then, is a warmer or darker sounding magnet than the AlNiCo V magnet which we all know, can cut like a razor no matter what pickup they're used in. Gretsche's drum kit was the .
Now, what if Leo had an X-acto knife, rather than scissors, and he was more of a hipster wiseguy? I, for one, might be digging on the sounds of Mike grooving out on a tasty blue FENDER BRO CASTER!
Confused... first position is neck only pickup as a dark circuit and not blended with the bridge? Middle position both neck(not a dark circuit) and bridge and third position just bridge....u were somewhat unclear in the switching....could u explain that again?
Would hit the like button but at the moment it’s on 666 😮likes...just a little bit superstitious 😮and don’t wanna press my luck....👀👺 Great segment tho
This gentleman is a fine guitar picker
I absolutely love all of these pieces, but that third one was incredible!
That Tele had some range, easily one of the best I’ve heard. Lemmo on point with it 👍👍
Oh how I love that dark circuit tone. Always have.
Ugggh. ( Just roll off the Tone pot)
Some super dynamic playing there, Lemmo!
Excellent ! Showcases the versatility of the Telecaster. Nicely done.
I do love FENDERS ,
The dark circuit on that guitar doesn’t seem as muddy as the usual roll off and sounds very usable! Also the middle pickup selector is for the neck pickup only without the roll off and sounds very clear. And great sounding bridge pickup. Great guitar and great playing!

That’s one sweet sounding guitar , love everything about it
I enjoy the videos Michael and Brandon and jen
That boat neck, cosmetics & circuitry have a unique character. No cliche demo from Lemmo.
The dark circuit ( treble removed from first switch position) was used because the fender bass guitar would not be introduced for a while. Guitar players would play the bass lines on it.
Sorry I responded so late… I’ve never had a reply before😂
Love the playing.
I love telecaster
Another very cool instrument…of course Michael could make an electrified tennis racquet sound spectacular.
Brandon Soriano It's in the house
You got the wiring partly off
Neck Pos - Dark Circuit
Middle Pos - Just neck pickup - no tone control
Bridge Pos - Bridge pickup / tone control blends in neck pickup
Love that blue ❤
As alaways thanks. Thanks very much indeed, love my Tele Tuesdays.
meleow jazy! n lemmo is intense today, brandon is so on top of his game..
Tele's are the best. Period. Nice work Lemmo!
Unique and lovely guitar 💙
Love Tele 'Tuesday! Thanks Brandon Michael and Jen the GOTD dream team. Where is Brandon's lab coat??
LEMMO you never disappoint !!! Thanks Brandon and Jen !!!
Can hear the custom shop wood difference. A lot more crisp tighter sounding. Resonant
Such a pretty tele ugh! I wish I could have that one
Check out the road worn 50s very similar
What Impresses me the most is how you folks never bump a headstock into that narrow corridor's shelf.
One day....
People been commenting this since the beginning of this channel. My guess is it’s not as narrow as it appears in camera.
Another great 'Lemmo Demo'.😎
At this point I’m convinced lemmo can play a shoestring and would sound phenomenal.
Is there ANYONE watching this channel that hasn't heard this story DOZENS of times?
Just love Tele Tuesday

Love me some Lemmo 👏
I have big hands and I love the bigger maple necks , so smooth and clean !
That first bit was so good, Michael. I dig that song so much. I’ve been listen to the shit out of your blue comet album. It’s really good. Love listening to it driving down 95 on a rainy day.
It’s a video about the guitar.
Play the guitar clean and dry, before moving on to row, row, row your boat.
Thanks Norm.
Very nice mike
Great demo! Not crazy about teles but this one makes some cool tonalities
Incredible playing!! 🎸 ..... Really Awesome, Thanks!
Just a note, I have small hands, but find the huge, baseball bat neck on my G.E Smith a perfect fit. Play some fat necks and see how they work for you.
I guess the circuitry would be the same as the esquire.🎸 Great custom shop production!

Great
I miss a lot of work, show up late go home early, don't know much about guitars... J.B. lol
🎸
Now I can’t stop looking at Brandon’s king crab hands.

All hail the dark circuit!
Pretty cool.
Not a fan of blue guitars . I don't listen to rock radio much but heard Blue On Black from KWS the other day.
Sounded good..

Gretsche's drum kit was the .
The Esquire was released in 1950 then the Broadcaster a few months later .
@@toddflowers8052 You are correct. I can’t remember why I thought 1948. 🧠 💨 . My bad.
@@67Stu No worries man , it happens to us all !!! 👌
@@toddflowers8052 Yeah. I’m just gettin’ old.
@@67Stu Same .
LOVE the tone. Wow ~ Mike .... what great feel. Love that Melody. Such a great player !
Now, what if Leo had an X-acto knife, rather than scissors, and he was more of a hipster wiseguy?
I, for one, might be digging on the sounds of Mike grooving out on a tasty blue FENDER BRO CASTER!
I like your playing and the guitars but it would be nice to hear the guitars without eco and playback, just the clean raw see sound
That third tune is the basis of another album.
Excellent ! Does somebody knows the tune at 05:46 ? Sound like a Pat Metheny track.
I woould also like to know
If I hear that broadcaster/nocaster story in one more video I'm gonna go crazy
👌
Lake Placid is the best color…
On a Strat absolutely, on a 50s Tele, no.
How come no one plays with the ashtray cover on?
Severely limits what you can do. Definitely wouldn’t work for Lemmo. Eliminates the ability to palm mute strings.
Because most people don’t smoke anymore 😂
If you get a chance try playing with the bridge cover (Ashtray) on , the sound is warmer.
No palm muting.
What’s that cost?
Confused... first position is neck only pickup as a dark circuit and not blended with the bridge? Middle position both neck(not a dark circuit) and bridge and third position just bridge....u were somewhat unclear in the switching....could u explain that again?
Google Telecaster dark circuit...

Biff Slangogoocho is a spec check master!
It's great how Micheal playes beginner riffs. May he carries on with what the guitar can do.
Whats the first one from?
This guy makes every guitar he plays sound awesome but I don’t like blue guitars…or green ones…or pink…
What happened to norms son? He aint around anymore.
Lemmo’s a ok guitar player iv listened to his playing and his songs he’s ok he’s not great but ok
This guy guitar picker
Would hit the like button but at the moment it’s on 666 😮likes...just a little bit superstitious 😮and don’t wanna press my luck....👀👺
Great segment tho
Lemmo needs a haircut. Just saying.
Hey look ! It's the Dick Beato model Telle !
