  • Nice smooth beam pattern that still has some pretty decent candela. I see why Fireflylite chose this as the oem default optic.
I have a separate candela video test, with this optic in my Fireflylite candela tests playlist also. Test results from that are as follows:
    Highest lux recorded:
    2,874 at 6.31m
    (114,431cd. / 677m)
Approx. average lux in first 5 seconds:
    2,700 at 6.31m
    (107,503cd. / 656m)
    30 sec. lux:
    2,461 at 6.31m
    (97,987cd. / 626m)

why do you choose this light instead of t1r with sft40? what light do you think is more throwy?

@@g0ttam Good question, thanks. The T1R, with a smaller 37mm bezel diameter, doesn't throw quite as far as the larger 48mm bezeled X1L. With the throwiest optic available for the X1L (LLC59R), I measured 206,845cd./ 910m. The only review with a candela spec. for the Fireflies T1R, SFT40 that I'm aware of, is from the Flashlight Enthusiast RUclips channel. He measured 112,410/ 671m. The T1R is another great, throw oriented light, but it's smaller optic limits it's overall candela potential to a degree. Thanks for watching!

@@2throwfar i am facing the choice of emitters, wanted thrower therefor sft70 looks like winner in this light but now i consider xhp70.3 as better choice/all purpose emitter, not as throwy as sft70 but that difference does not look as huge, otoh close range is more useful with xhp
do not know about candela numbers for xhp but think they would be lower than sft70

I have data on my X1L, XHP70.3 HI 4,500K in my "Fireflylite Candela Tests" playlist. Roughly 52kcd with the oem default LLC59NF optic, and roughly 73kcd with the LLC59U throwy optic, on my particular light.
XHP70. 3 HI has a great beam profile as a more general purpose style of light. Slightly larger hotspot than SFT70. Just depends on how much throw one wants.

@@2throwfar ok, back to my first choice - sft70 😀, many thanks you make my decision lighter
what do you think about the driver?

Yeah I know, hard to decide sometimes. That's how I end up with lots of lights! 😂 I like the driver. It's a Loneoceans X1 driver. 40W boost driver. Check out Budget Light Forum, or Reddit, FireflyLite for more info. on it, but it's a good, solid one. 👍
