Also...until the kids are bigger i would say suv camping all the way just get a mattress that fits inside the suv best sleeps I have had

And there it is...best way to do the annual camp trip is to bring the Family who are experienced campers along with, lol!
Definitely can tell Zach is a older brother and Evan is a younger child in his family just watching Zach take charge of pretty much all facets of things! You can tell his siblings really look up to him and feel protected with him around! Evan’s personality is definitely the younger brother type, brings a ton of laughter and playfulness to the events but let’s others make all the prep decisions! Their an adorable bunch that is for sure!…💝😍
What fun, the long awaited annual camping trip!!! Loved everything, loved the sound of Evan chopping the firewood, perfection, lol!! So wonderful that you were able to share this time with Zach and Whitney! Family is everything and making the effort to remain close is huge. Your kids are always so good. Gosh, even your dog was good! Not sure about a tent on top of the car. I would be the one that would forget and walk right out of it and land on the ground LOL. What is the purpose of having it on top of the car? There has to be a reason right? I came from a big family but we all ended up all over the United States so trips like this never happened. You are so very blessed to have such a great relationship with both sides of your families. God is good to all of you!

You probably want to make that an annual tradition now, right? I guess we'll see how next year is. And yes, camping season is really over where I am because we just got our first snow. Happy 6 months of winter to my Canadian corner....

Tip for camping is to get huge trash bags to put the garbage in, and store the bags and food in vehicles at night

I cannot stress to you all enough how very blessed you are to have family join you while making wonderful memories for and with your kids. Our kids have grown up without either of our families and don't know their grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles the way that your kids know theirs. What a blessing for you and your kids to have family close by to do things with. Enjoy these moments as time truly does go by way too fast. Our youngest is now almost 17 and he would not know his cousins if they were sitting in the same class together. Makes me so sad for them.

Listen. Hear me out. Backyard camping is where it's at when you have little ones. 😆😂 Our whole family goes to Grandma & Papa's house. We all set up our own individual campsites in the field and then we do one campfire in the center. The kids have a blast running and playing together. Then when it's time for bed the smallest babies can be put to bed in their pack-n-play in the house and they don't get disturbed. It's also so nice to be able to go in to use the restroom when you have toddlers. We still cook outside and do everything else like we are camping. Also, this way grandma and papa get to enjoy it as well because they are older and can't sleep in a tent anymore. It's become one of our favorite family traditions.
