Both snippets have a rich harmony in the writing which sounds professional. I think you would be good at writing string quartets. Given that you're in school, it would be a simpler form to work on in short periods. With orchestral works, when interrupted, it's easy to get distracted or lose interest, I would imagine. You can always expand a quartet into a larger work if that is something you want to at a later time.
Amazing! This kinda gives off the Prince of Egypt vibes. Both parts. (Have you heard of it?) The first one sounds like where they finally enter the promise land, the second sounds, well, like you said, in a desert or Middle East. But, it kinda reminds me of the Israelites walking in the desert for 40 years.
Thank you!!! and YES i love the prince of egypt!!! I especially love the soundtrack as well (me and my sister love singing the broadway musical version too). you described the exact feeling i got from this! definitely something Egyptian or desert-y. thank you for listening!!
