@5jjt 49 uses the 19 spring assembly and has a shortened dust cover just like the 19 and 45. The entire purpose of the 49 was to allow compatibility across the gen 5 9mm guns. Otherwise it's literally just another glock17.
I'm a Glock 45 owner. It is my only one Gun. I want to buy a second one. And the Glock 49 is very good for me, because i can basicly own 4 guns now, just with 2. So if i own G45 and G49, i own automaticly a G19 and G17 too, bacause i can mix them up pretty easily. Maybe you can do a video about it.
@@volbrenYThow did the 49 work for you? Been seeing a lot of malfunctions with it online. Maybe those go away when it’s transformed into the 19 and 17?
@@TarixVR no issues whatsoever with 19 or 47 combo. I only shot like 200 rounds through the 49, it’s just a pointless setup to me. The 45 has a few thousand though. It’s cool. I basically year round the 19 and beside the 47
So lemme get this straight. They took a 19 frame and slapped a 47 slide on it, which has a 19 recoil system in it, so that now there’s that fucky little overhang lip on the front of the slide. They did all that when all we asked was for them to take a 17 and chop the grip down to 19 length. #Innovation
You get a Glock 49 and a Glock 45 and you have literally every 9mm Glock you'll ever need.
what about a 19 and a 47? does that give you all of the same combinations?
@@BrianWood777 correct that gets you the same thing
The Glock 45 uses a 19's locking block. Wouldn't the 49 use a 17's locking block making them incompatible?

Easy, informational, and straight to the point thank you great video !
Just got the Glock 26 Gen 5 MOS and now the 49 comes out .
once again glock broke the mold with this one....eye roll
can the g49 take a g34 upper?

I have a Glock 45 also and I am excited to get the 49 because I’ve always felt a little weird about not having a 19 and 17 😊
@@daviddiina2066 I too was a 45 guy that got a 49 and now I only carry as 19 and the 47 is in the bedside lol.

The Glock 47 has the shorter dust cover so it is compatible with the Glock 19 slide/barrel essentially turning a G47 into a G45.
The G49 is next on my list. I have two “homemade” ones…G17s with grips chopped/reshaped to accept G19 mags.
Glock 30SX next

You could have chopped the grip yourself! I have two that my son-in-law modded for me. Works of art.
🤔…or perhaps a G19.5 and G47
