OK.....let me start by saying, Im so proud of myself for not fan girling out ahahahaha. You guys know Slug is my ALL TIME FAVORITE RAPPER....Atmosphere is also one of my favorite groups ever. Ive known about this episode since mid October and Ive been soooooo stoked everyday since about it.
The first time I listened to them was my 2nd day on my own at 18. I put on God Loves Ugly and within 2 minutes I was a fan.....2 hours later I was a fan for life. These songs have been in my head since 18, something about their music just resonates with me. I spent years in the pizza car droppin pizza n sacks bumpin Atmosphere....never in my life would I think Id get the opportunity to sit down and have a real conversation.....no lie this was my favorite episode ever...I still cant believe it!
"Now all my friends are famous, either one thing or another" that Atmosphere line always stuck with me....here we are 14 years later interviewing my idols......life is unreal!

Hair, Scalp and Skull are the three songs in the car crash trilogy they mention at one point. Hair is the story of a couple who meet at a bar and end up in a car crash, Scalp is from the perspective of the other driver in the crash, and Skull is told from the point of view of someone who witnesses the crash, and who is caught pondering death and mortality when faced with such horrific tragedy. Absolutely fucking dope storytelling, and fucking insane to think they dropped them nearly 20 years apart from one another, Hair in 2002, Scalp in 2011, and Skull in 2021. Slug and Ant are legends

When he mentioned it a trilogy I instantly thought of a song but can't remember name. Know it on a cd I own. But dude at bar asks him to do a delivery and ends in a crash
And that song was scalp. Dope
I had always thought it was funny that he'd used the "sudden car crash death" ending twice, but it was until I listened to this this episode that is was like "wait....pulled out on Lyndale...killed by a COUPLE OF DRUNKS HOLY SHIT IT'S THE SAME PEOPLE"

My wife and I just saw then play in Bend, OR on the 7th. We did the meet and greet and it was absolutely amazing. There was a small group so we got to hangout with them for almost an hour. Such humble, chill guys. I’ve been a fan since I was a kid in Minnesota.

THANK YOU! This duo has been such an integral part of my entire life and Thomas perfectly captures EXACTLY how I feel as a fan. Good questions, deep cuts, fucking nailed it. This brought me so much joy. I also whooshed the Hair, Scalp, and Skull trilogy! Blew my mind once he said it.
I know Slug and Ant probably wont see this but I have always wanted to personally thank them. There is this unexplainable connection in my brain that happens when I listen to their entire catalog. Its almost like that Tom Hanks movie where someone is narrating his life. We have such similar intertwining life circumstances and emotions that its always a trip when a new album drops. Its like multiverse level feelings. I have never had such admiration for another person before and I don't think it will ever end. I genuinely appreciate you both.

Got a hot take, just know it's all love, and that you are one of my favorite RUclipsrs. Since y'all joined up with Malka media, there is just something missing. I do like how Marty is able to be more involved with the conversation since he hasn't had to worry about recording and such, but lately there just hasn't been the same spark, and although it's cool to have these high caliber guests, I think that I enjoy the episodes with your friends and homies that you have chemistry with and the effortlessly long episodes. I miss the 1.5-2 hour episodes 1 hour just isn't enough for me. Love you guys and hope to see the podcast get better and better each episode, and I hope this is helpful.

if they kept the content the same it would become stale they already make 5 channels worth of content collectively its kind of insane they went this long without a team to help them with the content i mean Thomas has what 8 businesses or some shit and is still taking time to put this much into the podcast and Marty still does other work on things apart from the show these guys most likely utilize their day down to the minutes i think the path they've chosen is sound and respectable it creates a healthier work environment, gives the creators more maneuverability for dispersing their time amongst their businesses, and creates opportunities for more people to become more involved with the dopest community
