    No oil Filter Chance? And i heard behind the Filter is another screw where you get a lot more oil out

    • @motechRevolution
      @motechRevolution  8 дней назад +1

      @@David-m7f3g true I didn't change the filter as the oil had just been changed at the first service. I changed the oil for a summer grade has we were seeing 40c plus temperatures. I must admit the handbook was sketchy regarding the second Allen bolt. I'm changing the oil at 6k again mid service so I'll change the filter and drain the sump and the pan.

      I learned a long time ago, you learn more from the trained professionals rather than a d.i.y. individual reading from a manual written for instance in Chinglish. Watch the videos specific to oil viscosities, how they’re best used and follow on with the correct method of carrying out an oil change from a qualified mechanic.
      Many RUclipsrs run out of material and make videos for the sake of maintaining continuity and long term income stream.
      There are literally hundreds of quality videos available on how to carry out the most basic of procedures such as an oil change on a motorcycle by mechanics who set out to educate in the correct procedures and justify their method with fact gained by experience and knowledge.
      Unless you are intending to keep the motorcycle until it becomes a classic the only benefit to changing the oil at ridiculously short intervals is for the next owners. Modern motorcycles have a limited life compared to yesteryear, they’re computers with two wheels and the technology will be out of date in just a few years. It is a well known design feature originating from the U S of A, built in obsolescence.
      Each to their own of course, if you enjoy playing with spanners so be it but what it costs to carry out an early oil change could fill the tank and take you for a ride.

    • @motechRevolution
      @motechRevolution  2 месяца назад +1

      @@andycapp3867 thanks for all your comments. As long as the oil is viscous enough at cold start at 35 to 40c I’m happy, I always let my bikes get to operating temperature the DSX is 90c at the upper temperature any 50 oil will be the same. I don’t want low viscosity oil at startup in high temps. That is why 20w oil is recommended. It’s way too viscous for temperate climates when cold and also for Southern Spain in the winter. I have swapped engines, gearboxes in bikes and 4x4s for years. I’m not asking anyone to change their own oil and filters if they don’t want to. 90% of bikers spanner on their own bikes, especially adventure bikes, you need to be able to fix a puncture, or plug a tire and carry a decent tool kit. I’m not trying to justify my actions, I don’t need to. I have had sports cars where I have dropped the oil twice a year. It’s a personal choice. One bike I have recently sold I had for 20 years always serviced my self. It was mint when I sold it, and for more than I purchased it for. If you cannot change your own oil and filters and adjust the valves you are probably a weekend dash to Starbucks type of rider. Stay safe my friend 👍✌🏻

    i didn't know bike sales were so strong in europe i think the weather and the cost of living crisis is affecting us , brexit , leaving aside how you voted was forecast to drop are GDP by 5% people here are struggling to keep their heads above water and the biking demographics well were getting older ,last saturday june 1st i test rode a voge dsx525 but found the leg room very cramped i am 182 cms is the 900 seat height similar to the 825cms on the 525 ?

      The 900 is a much taller bike. It has a very scalloped seat taking it to 825, that said Voge are bringing out taller seats and the bike would seat would easily go up to 925 without altering the aesthetics of the bike. Voge have said they will bring out different seat options. The cost of living has shot up here in Spain, but nowhere to the extent of the UK. For example main dealership service for a motorcycle is €37 an hour labour, you are looking at around £100 in the UK that's at least 3 times more. So I guess you are right, people in the UK don't have the same disposable income anymore, especially for motorcycles, which slot into the hobby/leasure category in the UK as opposed to transport. Thanks for your comments, ride safe, ✌️

    I just wanted to ask you please a question.
    Every how many Km you have to change the oil?
    Every how many Km you have to do the service?
    Here in France the price is almost 11000 euro for the motorbike.
    Prices here in France generally are just ridiculous.
    Plus Voge France gives 3 years of waranty and not 5 like in Spain.
    I am asking about the service because prices as i told you are rediculous, last time i gave my bike for a full service i payed 24 euros per liter the oil!🤣
    4x24=96 euros ONLY the oil which i found later on the internet the same 9,50🤣🤣🤣
