Hey Sabine, thats a very good question! Please pay attention around 09:15 where I'm changing the brush size for the holes on the edges. You have to use different settings that match your design. If this helps please *LIKE & SUBSCRIBE* !
Nice! but any idea how to actually make it a physical thing! I mean how to print it or order a printing service for this vintage postage (with the proper perforations and paper type,..)?
You can print the result on a stamp-like paper and then use a stamp scissors to cut along the margins. Unfortunately a year ago the US Postal Service issued a directive that it's no longer legal to use custom postage stamps. You could try Etsy to see if somebody can do this for you
I think you can make custom postage stamps, but starting 2019 it's not legal to use them when you send an actual letter through the mail service. hope you enjoyed this tutorial. don't forget to like and subscribe!
The effect is quite nice I'd say, but I really do not like silent videos like this where you have to constantly hunt the cursor moving on the screen to make any sense of it all. Even if you know quite a bit of all this already it tends to be sort of disconcerting when you're not given any spoken hints to why things are done just this way and not another - we all know Photoshop almost always allows certain visual results to be achieved by more than just one way of doing it. So putting shown actions into some perspective would be quite an improvement. I'm sure most people will certainly like to understand what is being done (and why) and not just follow a number of steps in a certain order which sort of magically lead to the end result.
I totally agree with you, that's why I stopped making silent video tutorials. Check out my other tuts and let me know if that is better. Also, I try to read and reply to all comments and questions, so if you have a specific question about something you missed in this tutorial I would be very glad to help you
It's 2018, so no excuse for anyone doing tutorials without a microphone. I was interested, but don't have the time to hunt down cursor movements and mouse clicks on tools that I may or may not know already. Too bad since it looks to be an interesting result.
You can download the stamp template free from Textures4Photoshop, I put the link in the description of the video www.textures4photoshop.com/tex/decor-and-ornaments/vintage-postage-stamp-border-template.aspx

You are good, man. Gratz. Thanks for the links too.
Thank you Thierry! I'm glad you found this useful
Gorgeous! My only question is whether there's a math formula to make the stamp edges even, IE if you're working with different sizes!
