I don't get why torture was and is,in some countries considered effective. IT NEVER WORKS, you only hear what you want to hear. Not what actually happened.
Confessions are also a terrible piece of evidence, because:
1, A police officer can falsify the confession
2. Given enough psycholical pressure, an innocent person will sign
3. A vulnerable person (low IQ, mental illness, drug addicts, children, elderly/memory problems can easily be coerced into confessing
It has been proven time and time again that when confessions and junk science are relied upon, it results in a miscarriages of justices occur.
