This is so true though. I grew up watching all of these shows, and when I started re-watching them as an adult, I started laughing. There were times where I was babysitting kids and they asked me why I was laughing, but I don’t have kids personally so I can get away with laughing most of the time.

1:15 OMG that girl is sooo flipping close to the actual answer. Its hilarious. And in answer to the final question. The jokes are literally there because animators know parents might be watching. There are several interviews where creators talk about exactly this.
As a kid, I never picked up on these jokes, and even when I saw RUclipsrs making videos about this stuff, I thought they were reading too much into it.

I remember seeing quite a few of them and I've understood so my parents actually explained some to me when I got a little bit older. I still rewatched some of my favorite cartoons because well I enjoy them. And I got the one with gumball and Darwin were supposed to be "high"and the one about the seahorse Mystery and the coin slot in SpongeBob. I never understood The Mr and Mrs Robinson one though until I got explained in this video. Anyway I still remember seeing a few videos where they explain it too. The very first adult joke I understood in the kids movie/show was in Toy Story 2. Where Jessie helps the dog go outside so we can go to the bathroom. And after she's done Buzz's wings pop up. When I first figured it out I started laughing my butt off! And I showed it to all my adult relatives telling them I thought it was funny. Another one I remember is my younger siblings And I were watching Gravity Falls it was the episode with the secret tree bunker and Wendy goes "This place is weird." And then Mabel goes "Not as weird as Dipper's internet history. Hey-oh. "And then she slaps Dipper's back and pushes him forward. I started laughing my butt off and my siblings gave me a weird But I also didn't get the Mable being high until I was a little bit older and rewatching it. But my brother and I did get the one where Stan drops that barrel on his foot and goes "Son of a hot Belgian waffles!" Then he goes wait I can curse for real " "Son of a... "Then Dipper goes "fast forward fast forward".
