I rode like that (8/10ths to 10/10ths) in my teens and early twenties. I am now 67 years old and got here because I grew out of it! These days I ride at 5/10ths most of the time and sometimes, if I know there's no debris on the road ahead, 6/10ths to 7/10ths.
However, I think old guys like me telling youngsters to slow down is rather hypocritical. I ignored the wise words passed down to me when I was in my salad days and I fully expect most youngsters to ignore mine these days. It's all part of growing up. Alas, some of us don't make it. In truth, there's not one rider over fifty, if he's been riding all his life, no matter how safely, that hasn't got here without luck on their side.

Right on man, I am 66 and picked up a Trident 660. Sure, I could have gotten the XSR900 or even an MT-10. But at this stage of my life, it is more fun to ride the 660 at 70% than clinging on for dear life riding a liter bike at maybe 40%.

I'm 70 and I agree. I was pretty reckless in my younger days and on bikes not nearly as capable as what we have today. I remember riding with some friends, heeled over in a turn doing over a hundred and drifting sideways. All this on a stock '83 Suzuki GS750. I'm surprised I'm still around. I now ride around on a 150cc scooter. Lol.

Group rides are the best strategy to cause accidents. There's always someone who drives faster and takes more risks, and the others feel obliged to follow.
You need to ride your bike at your own pace.

Great riding, if one goes down, all go down, never mind the danger you are to other law-abiding road users. Take it to the track, it's safer, you know what's around the next corner and you're unlikely to hit an oncoming car or steel barrier if you crash.

125,000 dollar Range Rover and the operator can’t parallel park. 1,500 dollar ‘04 Honda civic and the operator does donuts in reverse around the Range Rover. Never underestimate the operators skill. What really baffles me is using a public road as a racetrack. Got something to prove, take it to a track and leave innocent motorists out of it.

An average Guzzi owner. Old and experienced enouph to know the limits of his bike. Notice how the squids are bent off center, needlessly into the corners with a knee out while he is just sitting up straight, letting the bike do most of the leaning and watching where he's (She's?) going
