  • I asked Google’s Bard AI service to rank the top 10 most popular skincare products of this year.
    It based the results not only on sales but also customer ratings, expert reviews, beauty awards and positive buzz on consumer forums, which makes for a fascinating list!

    Fair warning, the "gentle" cleanser from Youth to the People is actually a pretty harsh foaming cleanser. I see it as more of a product for oily-prone skin, and I wouldn't recommend if you have dry or sensitive skin. This has been talked about by a lot of people and I experienced a similar reaction to it! But it is definitely super hyped lol

    Snail mucin has been my go to for years now, it works for everything skin. I use it to moisturising under, & to slug over, my retinoids & my other active treatments like high dose Vit C or Copper peptides flash night treatment. Its a wonder essence for slugging on top to keep the product from oxidising & to keep it working underneath for longer.
    i also reach for it as a conductive serum for gua sha or for use with red light mask. I am sure it would work with any of the other facial devices that use a water based serum just as well. I love the Cos rx Mucin of course, and I also use their Ultimate nourishing Rice overnight spa mask. Its great stuff leaves skin plumped, smooth and polished in the morning.

      Yes! the Squalane & lactic acid serum is also Fantastic! So far I haven't found anything that I haven't liked in the line. And I especially like it because it's Cruelty Free, "Clean", and gives back to REAL environmental causes.

    CERAVE is no longer cruelty free, since deciding to sell their products in China (which demands testing on animals). Even most influencers think Charlotte Tillbury’s mail moisturizing cream is too expensive and does nothing. Youth to the People’s Kale cleanser is very irritating, unless one’s skin is very oily. I actually used to use it to clean my stallion’s sheath to prevent urinary infections-until a veterinarian told me that Dawn Dish Liquid was just as good and much, much less expensive!

    I am surprised that on the list of criteria that there wasn't Cruelty Free as one of them. This is Extremely important to Many women, and I am honestly pretty surprised that too many beauty vloggers also don't give this much consideration to it either. The ONLY beauty vlogger that I know of that will not use, nor review a Non-Cruelty Free product is Elle Leary (who by the way, hasn't been posting much these day's because her young daughter is going through a cancer crisis right now, sadly, & unfortunately.)
    If Everyone was made to watch a video on the HORRENDOUSLY CRUEL practice involving animal testing, I highly doubt it wouldn't tug on the conscience of Everyone!
    There are So Many people, (beauty vloggers included) that have cats & dogs, & they ultimately "video bomb" their recordings, (which I LOVE!) No-one would want that kind of harm to come to their own beloved kitty or doggie, so Why wouldn't they feel the same way about a sweet & innocent bunny rabbit! They Feel pain & suffering too!!! People NEED to think about this!
    My wish is that EVERY beauty vlogger would come together & demand (by way of boycotting) Every product that has been tested on animals. Beauty Vloggers Have the power to do this! Brands now very much rely on popular beauty vloggers for reviews (positive one's obviously) and they can literally make or break a product of their brand if enough of them think the product being reviewed gets a big 👎.
    Sorry, I don't mean to rant, but as a life long animal rescuer & animal welfare activist, I feel it is my duty to take any opportunity that I can in order to open the eyes of the massess to thr Truth about the Not so beautiful side of the beauty industry.
    If anyone got this far reading all of this and agrees with me, please spread the word! Beauty Shouldn't have to HURT an innocent being!

    • @thehonestchannel
      @thehonestchannel  6 месяцев назад

      Thanks for sharing this. A lot of people have raised animal testing in relation to this list. I’ll try to find an expert in the new year to explain to me and the wider audience how we can establish which brands are truly animal cruelty free.
