Used your method today. First time on a $5 machine. 4 spins in I hit for $100. A lot better than playing down 100 with >$1 bets with the occasional $1.30 win. It won’t always work like that but Appreciate the wisdom brotha. 🍀
Thanks again for the great advice! I have my Cowboy poker chips on order. I am planning to play Harrah's in Cherokee within a few weeks. Hopefully I'll have better odds than I did in 2020 with the knowledge I have gained since then. They were much tighter than the slots in Vegas that I have played. The advice on the pay table reminds me of the machines I won the most on in Vegas with a lower top pay non progressive machine. The Bellagio, Binion's and the Golden Nugget made my trip almost completely paid for including our scooter tour to Red Rock Canyon, airfare and souvenirs for my family. I didn't have any hand pays but, the wins added up over the few days my brother and I were there.
Went to Bellagio yesterday, picked a $1.00 double diamond machine and $1.00 pink diamond machine. No progressive, low volatility, played 1 credit per spin, got lots of ammo but no jackpot. Lost $100 in each machine. I had no anticipation of winning and I wasn’t disappointed🤷🏻♀️. No hand pays here 😢. Going to Laughlin today… lets see how that goes.
My 2 cents based on my intuition, would love to hear your thoughts: How does limiting the RNG that a machine can choose from affect odds? Wouldn't machine just consistently keep picking the lower wins to stay within the same payback %? Yes, max wins happen more frequently, but I don't understand how you can deduce that it is a "winning" slot machine. The machine's pay back % is the same (and still favors the house). You can't consistently choose a "winning" slot machine unless its *payback %* favors the player. No such slot machine exists. They only exist temporarily to recalibrate back to the house's payback % if it hasn't payed out in a while.
Hi David! Thanks for writing in and watching :-) to answer your first question, each programmed percent has its own unique paytable associated with it. As a short example say 95% may have 5 possible hits for the top line jackpot where as the 85% setting has only 2. There is actually a great video over on Home Slots Fun channel that breaks this down in a visual demonstration. The RNG is mearly just the pulling method the system uses. When a machine is programmed it will run according to what it’s set for and nothing else. So if it’s set to run at say 95% theoretical payback, then that’s all it knows until it is RE-keyed to something different. I hope that makes sense. Again Marc has an excellent video on his channel that breaks down this visually and is very educational. Your second statement is very accurate! Like we always say here there is never a guarantee way to win or trick the system. However some machines are much better than others and have a better chance to hit on which is where volatility comes into play. By studying the paytables of a game you can identify lower volatility games that are easier to hit on. But in the end the house will win and that’s what the machines are designed to do. (For example if you have 2 slot machines and machine 1 has a 1:50 chance of hitting and machine 2 has a 1:5000 chance of hitting, obviously the first machine would be the best option to select.) Will it guarantee a win? Absolutely not, but your chances are better. This Is what a paytable can be a clear indication of and why it’s important 🤠 I hope that makes sense.
Ok so that's kinda what i thought. Considering the assumed payback %, the higher a prize is the more money statistically it'll require. Now I doubt that its as simple as saying a 90% return for a $2000 prize at $2 spin means 1/1111 chance but it sounds like that statistic is a part of the formula. What I really want to know is what about the other wins other than jackpots? A lot of machines have many options that pay under the bet which would cushion the payback % because you hit more than half the spins but still at a loss and in my logic that would make the higher wins and jackpots even harder to get. So although I'm usually up at some point in the night (i play very small with 10-20 to spend and make 50%+ before I spend it all for fun) I feel like the better machines for that have been ones where the smaller wins are good too. More misses, but when you hit its actually a win and not just a partial loss. Getting a line hit for 1/6th the bet or a reel full of wilds and multiple lines hitting just to make 110% of the bet is so frustrating. I hope you cover that as you work through the other variables and I'm sure that's a factor within the free games concept as well since it builds up those frequent tiny wins with 1 bet
Thanks for the info... I go to a casino in Minnesota and they have multi game/multi denomonation games..with low volitilty games...triple diamond /double lucky 7;s ect. there are about 7 games on each machine. Is it wise to jump between games or denomination on these games? Are my odds higher if I stick to just one game and play that?
Some Double Diamond two coin machines I have seen have either 1600 or 2500 as the top pay for two coin bet. Are you saying the 1600 top pay would be better to play than the 2500 pay? Same denomination, same max bet but smaller top pay on the same type of game
My goal is to win enough money. For a trip to Vegas, on a random trip to the casino. Do you feel like double up should be the goal . Because it seems like I stay in the casino for a little bit too long . But if I win to early. I really want to play
The only slot machine I really like is Top Dollar, seems like when I get the bonus they come in bunches, then other times I won't get any bonuses throughout the whole session. It seems to happen too often that way for it to be coincidence, will you cover that in future videos?
Yeah, we actually did an interview together about Top Dollar. As much as it seems like it's planned, it's not. Have I seen waves where they come in bunches? Yes, I have. But, I've also seen where it comes pretty sporadically too.
This actually worked!! I played a Triple Double Diamond quarter machine at The Orleans. The 2nd coin top pay was 1,500. Within the first 5 minutes I hit $60 and then $180 each off a 50 cent bet. Thank you!!!!👍🏼
I wonder why I have not found any “triple star” type slots at any of the 4 local SW WA casinos I play at. Plus when % are set by a bingo server (class II) does diff. denomination’s really make a difference. Are they able to set different % on there slots ?
Thanks for watching! Class 2 casinos run based off the game of bingo. This is still a good practice to follow however the machine is reliant on an outside bingo server so you are not playing you against the machine. I guess to answer the question short, in a class 2 facility it won’t make as big of a difference.
At about 2:09 seems to contradict ("if the machine is set to a better payback percentage it's going to have more options on the pay table to choose from for higher hits if the payback percentage is set lower those options for hitting higher are going to be limited and it's going to more gravitate towards the lower hits") what you are saying later to pick a machine with a smaller pay table
Love gambling maybe too much!however did quite well betting higher on the machines you suggested..No cartoons of tv shows but far better pay out!thank you
For a table with more than one coin option do we still consider the top bet option if we are only planning to play one credit? I don't quite understand how/if the top credit/coin amount relates to smaller coin amounts. Thank you.
Also, if the higher max numbers are harder to hit (for instance 2,500 for 2 coins vs 1,000 for 1 coin) does it make sense to simply stick to the lower number? In this example just stick to 1 credit bets instead of 2 credit bets? I hope my questions make sense, I am brand new to this.
Can you compare slots of the same denomination with different max bets using this method? For example; both machines are 25cent denom; one has max bet of 2 credits with 2500max payout; another has max bet 9credits with 10000 max payout. Can you divide the payouts by the max bet to compare these machines side by side? I.e. 10000/9=1111 and 2500/2=1250 so the better machine to play is the 9 credit one? I am assuming multipliers/bonuses/etc are the same.
question....are taxes for $1200 winnings just for a single spin win? meaning... if you are on a machine for one hour and win 2k just winning smaller amounts over several individual smaller wins, does that still require paying taxes?
not really because the RNG has more numbers to pick from, which leads to more blanks and more "deceptive wins" or "false wins" which is when you win less than your original bet. For example you bet $5 on a spin and "won" $1.25 on that spin
This isn't a series... IT"S A MASTERCLASS! Thanks brother!
Hey Cowboy! I just got back from 5 days at Mandalay Bay, and I took your advice! I ended up doing very, very well! Thank you so much...

Does the pay table still work the same in a class 2 facility when it's bingo card as far as figuring the volatility
thank you Cowboy!! great info!
Really learned so much..thanks.
Great channel keep it up! 👍👏🖐😊
OMG, I had it wrong all this time. I was always looking for the highest payout possible.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. It worked out for me today
I imagine a lot of people do the same. It’s counterintuitive to look for the lower max payout to have a better chance of winning
Thanks for more great information

What's the connection between payable 'ways to win' listed on the screen?
Can you compare slots of the same denomination with different max bets using this method? It would not be advised to compare the two because the paytables can be drastically different. Thanks for watching!

question....are taxes for $1200 winnings just for a single spin win? meaning... if you are on a machine for one hour and win 2k just winning smaller amounts over several individual smaller wins, does that still require paying taxes?
Just declare the big win
You only get a w2g form only if you get a 1200 or more win
On 1 spin
No if you have free spins and you get 1200 you get a jackpot and have to pay taxes
OK, I have reviewed this lesson because it confused me. At Harrah’s Cherokee. Let’s do this!!!
what slots should i play at cherokee nc
Thank you so much cowboy
You're getting more fluid in your speaking Cowboy.
I think you speak great Cowboy!
Wouldn’t more choices lead to more wins?
not really because the RNG has more numbers to pick from, which leads to more blanks and more "deceptive wins" or "false wins" which is when you win less than your original bet. For example you bet $5 on a spin and "won" $1.25 on that spin
