A real adventure today x I remember when I was young collecting whelk shells and others off the beach ,had a little tin bucket to put them in. One time on getting home one of the whelk shells was walking around ,I didnt realise I had picked up a hermit crab so had to walk back to the beach to let it go .
Looking at the signage at the start of the walk I suspect that people are harvesting cockles from the beach, there were plenty cockle shells about. I know commercial cockling is banned but think that a small amount for personal might be permitted.
One of my F/B friends posted yesterday, they have an abscess but can’t get an appointment until November. If they had been NHS it would have been longer.
